Very large room!”
For a very cheap price, u got a lot of furniture, very large room. The place is an old mansion belongs to a wealthy person i guess. Convenience stores are less than 100 meters walk. Quiet and peaceful place. Value for money👍🏻

Stay away! Dirty!”
Please stay away from this place! The name of this place suggests that it caters to backpackers but it does NOT have a backpacker vibe. There is no signs outside the place so it's impossible to find without asking around. The entire place is dirty. We booked a double room for three nights and the sheets were absolutely filthy. I've honestly never seen a bed so disgusting. At least they agreed to change the sheets. We also had a bat flying around the common area and we saw rats running around the kitchen. Receptionist wasn't very friendly, didn't speak english and was also never around. Included breakfast consisted of 1 piece of cold fried chicken and rice with a satchel of sambal. I'm amazed we didn't get sick from eating it. Found other breakfast the remaining days. Only good thing about this place is the location near central sights within Yogyakarta. It's cheap but it's possible to find much better at the same price. Even if not I'd definitely find something for a few more bucks. This place is just a health hazard.

great place & location”
i stay at casa raffles hotel for 3 night when school holiday started. you know yogyakarta is well known for lack of hotel room supply in school holiday. i had difficulties booking hotel room a month before holiday in one of my favorite yogya hotels (ibis, mutiara, rumah boedi). so, i booked a junior suite at casa raffles. when first arrive i was dissapoint a bit because there is no car park , there is only garage that can only fit 2 cars. so the last day i stayed i parked the car on the street. actually this place is famous for backpacker, it is a big house converted into backpacker hostel. but they have 4-5 junior suite rooms. the room is what supprise me, it is big and the bathroom is enourmous! the size of bathroom is 4x10 meters. the location is also great, 10 minutes walk to malioboro, and you can also go to kraton yogya walking because it is near (cut trip via small road). becak, food stalls are everywhere!!

Good”
Everything was so good. the location is in the city of yogyakarta. You can walk from this hotel to Malioboro, or alun alun selatan only in around 10 minutes. But the light is not so good, i feel a little scary if i were alone in the room. but overall the price and place was nice. Thanks!

Lovely place with great service”
My family and I had a wonderful 3 nights stay in Casa Raffles Hotel. It is a 2-storey house converted into a hotel. We were given a very warm welcome by a staff, who arranged for rooms downstairs together with our other friends whom we were travelling with. The Suite that we stayed in was clean and tastefully decorated. It came with a large comfortable double bed, one single bed, a big sofa, a big cupboard, an office desk and a dressing table. Even after adding an extra bed, we still had ample space to move around in the room. A value for money hotel with very good service. We also enjoyed free laundry service, and were allowed to use the hotel facilities for free in the evening after we checked out, to clean up after our trip to Pindul Cave, before we boarded the train to Bandung. Overall, my family and I had a fantastic time in Casa Raffles and would come back to stay again in the future. Thanks again for the wonderful service.

Great location, huge room and friendly staff”
staying in this what they said backpackers hotel is a non sense. this is not a backpackers hotel, all is a plus, from location, staff are friendly and helpful (puput, eki and sari), if you choose to have breakfast. ibu kudo will cook you traditional food, very nice. location very strategic, malioboro, fort vreideburg (or something), kraton/sultan palace are walking distance. if you stay more than 3 days you will have a free laundry service and option of transfer in or transfer out, meaning either they will pick u up upon your arrival in yogya, or they will fetch you to airport, just need to inform them.

Nice and comfortable rooms with great service”
We travelled in a group of 11 people with adults, children and senior citizens. We communicated with Sari via email (she communicated well in English) prior to our stay in Casa Raffles and she arranged for the rooms downstairs for our convenience. The rooms were big with comfortable beds. For days when we had to leave the hotel at 5am to travel to Borobudur and Mt Merapi, Sari and her colleagues woke up early to prepare breakfast for us. Our children enjoyed their stay in Casa Raffles hotel because it felt like home.

Small hotel with a big room”
I'm a food lover. I use this trip looking for famous cookings of Yogyakarta. For my surprise, I found 2 of them around here. One even just at the entrance of the hotel! The other is just at the corner 20 meter away. The room is big with big bathroom. It seems it was used as a master bedroom. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Love to stay here again.

excellent!!!”
When I checked in to this hotel after a 14 hour bus journey from Jakarta, I was pleasantly surprised! The room is so beautiful, fit for a king. I cannot believe that this is a backpacker hotel!!. Everything were provided by the hotel, and I had the most pleasant stay there. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. And they would go all out to help, especially with tour and travel arrangements. If I go to Yogjakarta again, I will definitely book this hotel again.

Value for the money”
We stay there for 3nights there when we visited Yogyakarta. First of all, it is value for the money paid. Cheap room rate, but the room is comfortable. However, we experienced a few problems there. First night when we stay there, many times of blackout happened. It is so annoying. Besides, there is no hot shower provided in the attached bathroom in our room. We told the staff about this but nothing they can do. Although the weather overthere is not too cold to take a cool water shower, however, the water is freezing cool early in the morning. Breakfast is very simple. Some of the food prepared are not fresh. I think they can improve this more. I miss the egg omelette prepared by the staff there. The walking distance from this hotel to the Malioboro street takes 15 - 20minutes. It is a bit far away from the street. Therefore, the location is not so strategic except for those who want to keep themselves away from the hustle and bustle of the busy shopping street. This hotel provides good information on how to go to some tourist spots by taking public transport. And not to forget to mention that, the internet speed is awesome!! Really fast.... =)

hotel and staff are great ”
I have been to Jogjakarta many times and like to try new hotels, Casa Raffle hotel and staff are very good and friendly , it is close to the city center , large rooms very clean ,the only negative that I have is it is too close to a Mosque and the prayers start loud a 4.00am in the morning .

Very pleasant and comfortable stay close to shops ”
The hotel room was clean and the bed comfortable. It is located near Malioboro which is a nice walk away. The location of the hotel in a nice quiet street provided peaceful sleep and a restful stay. I was a bit confused by the transportation service. I moved from another location owned by the same people who owned the Case Raffles. The transport picked me up at 2pm from the mountain premises. From my reading of posters in hotel of the same chain, they have 3 time schedule - at 10am, 2pm and 6pm from that location, I was on the 2pm transport run and was asked to pay Rp150,000 for the trip. The driver did not give me any receipt and asked me to get the receipt from the reception at Casa Raffles. When I asked for the receipt the two staffs looked a bit confused. I was given a receipt and the staff was asking around about the money paid etc... it all seemed a bit suspicious. As I was rushing to the airport I could not ask further or checked with management. Apart from that I have no complaint.

Hotel that feels like home”
When I came, I didn't really like this hotel because they downgrade my room for a half day (they got over booked) and then at night they moved me to Deluxe Private Room as I reserved. The room is big with bathroom, nice bed, sofa, TV, frig and even DVD player. I was impressed because it simply reminds me of home. They breakfast was also very nice, a home cook food. The other nice thing about this hotel is that they have about 3 laundry machine to be used freely for their guests. Really helpful and worth every penny, I guess. Specially for a backpackers/flashpackers.

Reasonable place to stay”
Clean room, but no hot water during our stay (2 days). Breakfast was simple, there's a menu - either Indonesian or Western to choose from, which you could order the day before. It's not easy to find the hotel, it locates in a smaller lane and the name in front of the hotel is "Yogyakarta Backpacker Casa de Raffles".

Homely feel, great service”
we had a nice 2 night stay at this place. location is just off the main area, so you have access to every important location (malioboro 15 mins, sultan palace 10 mins) but not too noisy (but again no place in jogya is too noisy). great place to stay, but they have few rooms, so if you reach early in the morning, you may have to put your luggage at the lobby and head out for a while. (on the plus side, they have a clean washroom in the public area for you to freshen up before you head out). the rooms itself are very cozy, if a bit too colourful. you get coffee/tea making facility in the lobby for whenever you want. they have a few dvds in the room for a day when it rains out. and talking about rain, one evening, it rained out and we decided not to head out: asked the manager to help us buy food (as their cook was on leave). she agreed and when it was raining too heavily, she actually offered to make fried rice for us. it was a nice gesture and the price was very reasonable (7000 rp). also, we had not signed up for the breakfast - as we had a couple of early starts planned. but when we asked if they would pack a couple of slices of toast for us, it was done without hesitation as well (considering that we smartly circumvented paying for the full breakfast). prices, as i mentioned, were reasonable (15000 rp for about 10 pieces of toast over two mornings). to sum up, this was worth every dollar. it used to be a residence for some really rich dude, by the looks of it. they have a working piano in the lobby: didn't get the time to play, but it was working. we checked. important: the staff speak english: which is definitely a plus for those who are bahasa-indonesia-challenged.
