Only stay here if you are looking for cheap accommodation close to the start of the sunrise walk. ”

Staff were not hospitable at all. The only time they were around was when they were booking us in to do the Mt Batur sunrise walk (where they were making a commission) and even then, they were very rushed. Room was fine, very basic bathroom, cold water only. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered here.. at both lunch and dinner time there was no one to be found, and the dining area was very much closed. There are a couple of little places to eat in town. After speaking to another couple, it seems like the local eateries are better than the restaurants. Location to the start of the walk was ideal, but we were picked up late for the walk and rushed up the mountain. Not ideal for anyone on this terrain, especially if your are not a regular hiker. I would only recommend staying here if you were looking for cheap accommodation close to the start of the sunrise walk.

The worst hotel night in my life”

This hotel is not even an hotel more a roof with dirty wall around it. I didn't expect 5* neither 3* or even 2*, but the level of dirtiness was beyond real. Ants on the windows inside the room, which cannot be closed. bathroom unworthy of that name. no toilet paper, no soap, nothing. Bathroom with open windows which cannot be closed either. Doors like cardboard. I didn't feel very safe. Fortunately the night was supposed to be short because I had to wake early for climbing Mount Batur. I start to sleep 2 hours but then one dog starts to bark non-stop during hours. Of course even with earplugs, it was impossible to sleep. The owner of the house didn't care at all if her dog was barking, she never went out of her place. I decided to go outside to yell at the dog. I didn't expect to sleep in such a horrible place. I was just asking for a clean and safe place I couldn't even find this! I strongly advise people to look for some other place. This so-called hotel shouldn't be on agoda at all. This place is unsafe. We didn't have sheets. The worst is that the room was not even that cheap !

Remote but beatiful Hotel”

A good hotel to sightsee Batur lake and clime Mt. Batur

This hotel is a good hotel to sightsee Batur lake in rural region. We can also see Mt. Batur from this hotel. However, as it is remote, the sanitary condition is not satisfied and there are lots of ants crawling along the wall. Furthermore, hotels are scattered. Anyone can knock our door in the night. We had to keep the lights open all the evening till the time that we will leave for Mt. Batur.

Ruhiges Hotel direkt am Batur See”
