THE quintessential Balinese experience”
Villa Kampung Kecil exemplifies everything that is wonderful about Bali: the artful architecture, the romantic and peaceful atmosphere and the warm service. The villa that we stayed in was decorated with lovely Balinese pieces, from wayang kulit puppets to traditional musical instruments. Only drawback of choosing a unique place like Kampung Kecil over other cookie-cutter chain hotels is that some mosquitoes do get into the villa but the provided mosquito coils help to keep them from being too much of a bother.

Oasis in Sanur”
Villa Kampung Kecil is an amazing oasis of genuine serenity away from the hectic pace of the usual tourist areas in Bali. The amazing original Javanese houses make the stay particularly special and the surroundings of garden and pool enhance that unique experience. The staff are attentive and professional in every way yet they never lose their special personal approach. This Villa is quite unique among all the options for tourists in Bali. There are fabulous warungs and cafes close by and we felt we had a great local experience. I would highly recommend this property for travellers who are looking for something slightly off the beaten track that has a quiet, calm and personal atmosphere.

Great villa accommodation in quiet surrounds”
We thoroughly enjoyed out time at the Villa Kampung. It was hard for the taxi to find and we were a little apprehensive until the big gate opened and we found a little paradise inside. It is exceptional in every respect. The rooms - fully equipped kitchen, dining room, lounge, bedroom and bathroom are all well appointed and huge as are the two private pagodas in the tropical gardens. I have no hesitation recommending these villas - they are a bit out of the way but it is only a $3.00 taxi to the centre of Sanur - well worth the taxi fare for the peace and quiet and standard of accommodation.

Unique Balinese Experience”
Kampung Kecil was an excellent introduction to Balinese art and architecture. Four villas surrounding a pool in a tropical garden sets the mood for a pleasant stay. The Villas are spacious with excellent facilities and equipment. The staff are very charming and helpful. Breakfast is adequate and sleep quality is good.There are also many TV channels to view. Highly recommended.

Quiet, clean , traditional style villa!”
I was ecstatic when I booked this villa! The rich, dark woods, traditional decor, spacious rooms, bug nets and away from the hustle of tourists- all my criteria for a place to stay in Bali. The staff were very accommodating! The rooms were very clean and beautiful. The only noise at night was from the neighbours rooster and dogs. The property has a pool, which we had mostly to ourselves, and daily breakfast which was delicious. Staff brought out pool toys for my kids (ages 4,9,11 and 14) and also provided suggestions of things to see and do. If you want a place to stay off the main tourist areas this is your place! Walking distance was a small grocery store, laundry, restaurants, and other necessities. 1 km away was Sanur beach. We often walked there too.

Marvellous Escape in Bali”
We managed to get a free upgrade from Klaten to Yoyga Villa. The interior was beautiful and we loved the traditional touch in the modern Sanur. The staffs were all polite and extremely helpful in assisting us. The owner, Nelly, was engaging and very thoughtful. She even prepared a box of Balinese chocolate for us during Valentines Day. The whole experience was marvellous and is not something that couldn’t be found in five star hotels. My girlfriend and I love the place and we will definitely be back when we visit Bali. Kudos!

Unique villas”
We very much enjoyed our stay, especially the beautiful tropical garden, the pool and attention to detail in the various villas. We initially stayed at Villa Klaten but due to a mobility issue we changed to Villa Yogya which is considerably larger and much more airy. Whilst Kampung Kecil is not central there is a free shuttle service to restaurants and to the beach. On the way back we booked a taxi, very easy and cheap with an app for a local provider. Streets are way too busy for walking, no sidewalks and definitely not recommended. Special mention should go to staff, especially Nuri and Cilla and others who’s name we don’t know. They were going out of their way to make our stay a very pleasant one. Many thanks!

Beautiful lodgings, lovely hosts, amazing visit!”
Our family of four, two adults and two teens stayed for nine nights. This was one of our favorite places we have ever visited. The staff took such good care of every request and were so kind. Each morning we enjoyed a lovely breakfast and swim before we set out exploring. We actually just stayed on our villas for a few days to derply relax because they were that pleasant! Huge bathrooms, Bali style, open to the outdoors, but still very private. Each villa is decorated in antiques and Balinese art, but not so overly done that it is not child friendly (each porch has traditional musical instruments to play). I think families would especially enjoy how safe and quiet the villas are. We would love to return someday. The villas are not in the center of town but taxied are easily called and cost ~ 3.00$ US for a trip to the main beach road. There is a great restaurant (Milas) in walking distance, but be prepared for no sidewalks. All in all, a lovely place.

Extreme relaxation with friendly staff!”
We stayed in Villa #1, the largest on the grounds and the only one up above the pool area. It was large, airy, and decorated with a wonderful assortment of Balinese and Javanese art and furniture. Beautiful teak wood throughout. The owner, Nellie, and her staff were incredibly friendly and gracious, giving us welcome drinks for the entire family (5 of us) despite our arrival after 2am due to flight delays. They were friendly and incredibly helpful, but stayed out of the way when we wanted privacy. They even bought us a large chocolate cake on Christmas Day, and gave the children individual sugar cookies. Whether calling taxis, providing free shuttle service around Sanur town and beach, the staff could not have been more welcoming! The only negatives were a lack of consistent hot water in the master bath and the smell of methane from the plumbing. Unavoidable in such tropical environment, but the bathrooms are separated only by hanging curtains. Overall a lovely holiday!!

Traditional Balinese villas”
This collection of Villas are not centrally located but then again they don't claim to be. There is a beach close by but it wasn't recommended that we visit it but instead head to the strip where the large hotels are. Check in was quick and due to the off peak period we were allowed to select which of the 2 bed villas we wanted. The first 2 bed villas wasn't appropriate for my companion who has accessibility needs but felt brighter and a lot cooler. The villa we stayed in was large and decorated with traditional balinese artefacts. It also had a large outdoor space located right next to the pool. The only issue i had was that the lounge area was incredibly hot and without AC - we had to request an additional fan. The villa was also very dark with little natural light in the main spaces. This wasn't the same for the other villas. The only other thing to note is the roosters. If you sleep lightly like me then you will be woken up at dawn. On the whole it is a pleasant property

If you want relaxing, villa kampung kecil is wonderful choice. very private and calm. This villa is close to airbnb type. They do not have restaurent, but you can cook yourself. Littlebit far from city center, but really calm and peaceful. And beautiful small swimming fool and rooms.

Beautiful property, but limited services”
This is one of the most beautiful properties I have ever stayed at. I was completely taken by its charms and I loved our room. However, I cannot currently recommend the hotel because of the limited service. The front desk is only staffed until 10 pm, meaning that you have to return before 10 unless you make arrangements in advance. This limited our spontaneity and led to us desperately rushing back both nights. Unlike every other hotel we stayed at in Bali, they have no laundry services, though they did offer to help us arrange service from a nearby laundromat. They also have no on-site restaurant. They do provide a delicious complimentary breakfast that is delivered to the porch of your room at your requested time, but you need to place your order the day before. We did have a lovely stay and the staff was friendly and accommodating, but if I came back I would stay elsewhere.

What a beautiful place to stay, a quiet, calm oasis with beautifully furnished and decorated original Javanese villas, spaced in gardens around a lovely pool, and pampered by friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Wonderful.

An oasis of calm”
We enjoyed our stay a lot - the pool and the room were lovely, and it was very calm, quiet and private. A lot of thought has gone into the design and fittings. We did notice that our bathroom wasn't cleaned at all during our 5 day stay, which was disappointing. The daily "cleaning" seemed to be sweeping and dusting, but not wiping any surfaces (i.e. the bathtub, the sink). The breakfast was ok, but it was what I would expect of a cheaper guesthouse, not somewhere charging these prices. For example the bread was cheap local bread, and the spreads were cheap.

The building is antique and rooms are good. But the facility is minimum, no sandal, no laundry, no breakfast variations, etc. Fortunately the staffs are very kind. Definitely it not recommendeded
