The resort is very pleasant, on the beach at Kubu about 4 km from Tulamben. The location is quite isolated and you will need a taxi if you want to go into Tulamben as the road is too dangerous to walk along, busy with trucks and other vehicles constantly overtaking each other. A shuttle service a few times a day provided by the resort is something which should be offered by the resort as the resort, although very nice, is a bit isolated from daily Balinese life. It is also necessary to eat all meals at the resort restaurant due to the resort's isolation. The restaurant does offer a good selection of meals and breakfast is particularly good, the best we have had in Bali. We were a bit irked that the resort advises in their information folder that 'no outside food or drink is allowed on the resort and that any food or drinks put in the mini bar fridge would be removed by housekeeping and left on the shelf'. This is a bit heavy handed and unreasonable, forcing guests to purchase all food and drinks at the restaurant. The pool is very nice and the grounds are too will be better again when the gardens become more established. Spa treatments and tours seemed quite expensive. All in all, a pleasant stay which could have been enhanced even more with the above downsides fixed by management.

We loved our relaxing staying in the resort full of friendly staff. It is located in the village where you can clear your mind and find the real life without hurry life style. The Relax house reef was like an aquarium for us and just 4 min drive to Tulamben and early morning dive on the Liberty ship wreck was absolutely amazing. My wife has really enjoyed a small trip to the near by waterfall too. Next time we will come for a longer period for sure

We normally hesitate to book a place without reviews but all conditions such as rate, room state and pool appeared too good to be true for the rate at Tulamben. So it was my best choice to stay there. Excluding all other you have at the hotel, walk through little hills to the beach in front of the hotel and you can get nice snorkeling point with sporadic meeting of humphead parrotfish!

I was a group of 10 people last time we visit here for a divetrip. 5mins only from tulamben dive sites. The room is very clean, the bed is very comfortable, the pool is excellent and really good place to chill out. The staff very friendly and the most important the staff kindly sending the item that my girlfriend left behind longways from tulamben to kuta area which is about 70km far. Definitely coming back when we have a chance!

Our 1st trip to Tulamben and Bali for purpose of scuba diving, relaxation and quiet. On check in at the hotel we were welcomed with a cold juice and then shown to our room. We were the furthest away from reception on the ground floor. We had a deluxe room and it did not disappoint. All rooms have ocean view. The aroma which greeted us every time we entered the room was magnificent. There were frangipani flowers everywhere. The hotel grounds are idyllic and very scenic and manicured. The two pools have ocean front setting and have freshly laid towels each day on the sun beds. There is a lovely restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with daily 'specials'. There is a central open air bar area which makes for a great meeting place with other guests and a great vantage point as you can see the divers torches at night on the Liberty wreck when sitting here! The dive centre is well run and organised. You can take own equipment or hire everything from them.

This resort is a property right overlooking the black sand beach. The grounds are simple and beautiful. The private villas are beyond incredible with private pool. The staff is so wonderful and responsive. The food is also really good. Definitely spend one evening at the property and order room service - so relaxing! It is important to know that tulamben is pretty much a dive spot for this one US shipwreck. I highly recommend either diving or snorkeling. It is a pretty cool sight.

We went to Tulamben to dive and it certainly did not disappoint. The Tulamben Wreck Divers resort was ok for the price, the room was large and clean and the bed very comfortable. The room had a TV but no arial so you could only watch dvd's which were not available as far as we could see. The bedding was just a cotton sheet which was a little cold at night with the air con on. Duvet or blanket is needed in the room. The hotel is odd in that you have to check in and out at the dive shop which is along the road from the hotel. The dive shop was quite expensive $44 per fun dive and the equipment looked very old and worn. we went down the road to Dive Concepts where they offer dive packages (5 dives for 1million ruppee) and would highly recommend them. The breakfast was good, with fresh fruit, eggs and toast. The staff were also very smiley and friendly, often our room was cleaned before we were back from breakfast which was very efficient. I think that this resort may have a second beach front location, the road side area had a small pool but no sun loungers so it was difficult to enjoy the sun. The view from these rooms over the volcano was however spectacular. This hotel is good value for the money but just a few small improvements like duvets, sunbeds and check in at the hotel could make a huge difference.

Superb dive resort, amazing value for money. The accommodation is maybe the best in all of Tulamben (I had a look around other resorts which looked a bit tired). The staff are brilliant and the food is awesome (best in Tulamben!). The dive staff are amazing! Really the best value dive resort I ever found in almost twenty years of diving in Asia. Only thing that could be improved on is the atmosphere of the restaurant, it seldom attracts outside guests but the food is of a very high standard and very reasonably priced. The restaurant staff will deliver meals to your villa at any time. I love this resort!

I had and excellent stay and the diving was outstanding - Thanks a lot to Tama a young guide who showed me everything I wanted to see (+++++), apart from the bumble bee shrimp which he found but lost again. He was courteous, helpful (thanks for the 'lady-boy' entry and exits!) and was very knowledgeable for a young dive guide. The staff of the hotel were excellent and good fun thanks to #2, #3, and 'crazy girl'. The food was as good as you can buy in any restaurant in Tulamben and the table service was quick and efficient. I was not so impressed with breakfast as I don't like eggs most days and would have preferred some cereals, however the fruit juices and all the rest of breakfast was fine. The room #1 (my name for the trip) was large well air conditioned and clean. I would have preferred the table to have been able to get my legs under for setting up U/W camera and working on laptop. The wi-fi was fast for Bali and was reliable. All in all due to the weather, Tama the dive guide, staff and room this was the best land based dive holiday I have ever had in over 30 years. Not many English speakers there at this time but there wasn't many in Tulamben. Note: I am 68 and struggle to get in and out of the water over the large pebbles. Tama and I linked arms and he saved me from falling over on several occasions THUS 'lady-boy' entry and exits.

I booked three nights and at check in my credit card had not let the transaction thru due to a security flag..... The young lady at reception with so patient and understanding, she drove me to the nearest ATM where it took another one hour for me to resolve the issue.... And all this time with a smile!!! I originally booked for three nights and ended up staying another six nights. The hotel is really comfortable and spacious, I really enjoyed the terrace over looking the ocean where they have a queen size bed, and in the evenings I would lay there with the satellite TV on. I also want to mention the amazing open stone hallways overlooking the pool with all the plant life surrounding it... just beautiful and super comfortable..... This hotel also has amazing three bedroom suits........ And there breakfast is super plentiful and delicious. Only down side is that it's just a little to far for me to walk to town when I wanted to so you would definitely need to rent a scooter which they got for me for 55k a day, which I used to commute to Tulamben and Amed for my daily diving 👍❤️👍

impressed with its service, it is a family business with professional service, the owner waited for us until late in the night for late check-in process. it's not very well known in Tulamben, guess it is because of the owner are not locals, but i definitely recommend this hotel for you who search for clean and large room with affordable price in this area. be careful because many hotels sell their room in low price with poor room in Tulamben. the room is spacious, the shower room is large and clean just as seen in the pictures. i am a happy customer

small,10 rooms, pool and gardens feel as though you are in someone's property rather than a hotel. very quiet and quite remote. room a good size, clean and quite modern, large balcony. basic facilities, no complimentary water, minimal toiletries, no tv. very clean staff extremely polite and helpful, although poor english can cause some difficulties when asking for help. free bus to magnificent sister hotel in tulamben, but costs to go anywhere else. food the only disappointment. quality excellent and menue adequately varied, but the quantity was simply too little. beach / bay opposite very 'local'. no tourists and no tourist attractions, including places to eat. the sand is black and the sea increadibly warm, good snorkelling. if you want noise and the lights forget it. if you want peace and quiet you will want to go back.

This place exceeds my expectation for a dorm room type of accommodation. I stayed there for a 2 nights solo dive trip in Tulamben. I couldn't be more spoiled than to have an 8-bunk-bed-dorm room all to myself (*just turned out to be very lucky that time). Location is just walking distance to Coral Gardel, drop off & the USAT ship wreck. Overall this place is a very good value for the money, clean facilities and superb location.

A cozy place to stay and spend the weekend ... the property sits by the sea where you can relax while enjoying the sea view from a hammock in their garden. We especially love the friendliness of the staffs and the freshness of their juices (at very reasonable price!) The hotel offers to take you for a short breakfast trip with a closer and open view of Mt. Agung at no additional cost. They can also help you arrange for a fishing trip and other day trips to nearby spots ... Perfect for a quick getaway

That's a good place to stay in Tulamben for a night, for ~$17 you get big room with air-con (not needed here though) and fan, and nice breakfast at Matahari Resort restaurant also. Resort's swimming pool, relax area and diving centre will be also available to you. Biggest cons is that building is located in front of the road and it's very noisy since the early morning and all along the day. So, try to get Matahari Resort instead of Guesthouse if possible.

I've stayed in Tulamben on numerous occasions but know one has been more accomodating than Alex the owner, (a generous Scotsman) what we liked was free baby sitting facility, 6 multiple chargers in your room, stock the fridge with your own beer, bought in suckling pig from outside served to us in the restaurant at no additional cost, wifi that doesn't time out, stacks of DVDs to choose from no cost, very generous food portions, superb snorkelling, scuba diving, rooms, pools and restaurant all top notch and two very friendly dogs, only down side massage superb but $28 to pricey can get for $10 elsewhere. Will definetly return. Thanks once again.

I stayed here for one night in May 2015 with my sister. We found it to be a great value for a diving/snorkeling trip to Tulamben. The rooms are fairly basic, but comfortable, clean, and functional. The pool is quite nice and underutilized. The hotel is close enough to the Liberty shipwreck to walk. The three surprising highlights were the Sichuan Chinese food, wifi, and view from the restaurant. The owner is from Sichuan province in China, so this turns out to be a great place to get some great Chinese food. The wifi was also very fast, and the view from the restaurant over the ocean is beautiful. I wouldn't plan a romantic getaway here, but for an economical diving/snorkeling trip in Tulamben, this is an excellent choice.

Check-in and out took only minutes. We arrived at 11pm, so the resort was very quiet. The staff helped carry our bags to our spacious sea-facing bungalow and did ask us if we wanted dinner, but we declined and just wanted to unpack and rest. It would've been great to get a proper orientation of the property and dive center either that night or the next morning. Not a big place, we figured everything out on our own. Food is affordable and delicious! Never a bad meal. We particular loved the stir-fried kangkung. Their western dishes were also good, especially the burger--so big and juicy! Our bungalow was perfect: comfy king bed ceiling fan which we used several nights instead of the AC, sofa, coffee table, safe, LCD TV (a bit small when viewing from the bed), toiletries, mini fridge stocked with sodas and beer (you can save a little by buying from the shop across the street), slippers, robe, vanity mirror, hair dryer, and plenty of storage and counter space. The ants were inevitable, but they mainly stayed outside. And speaking of outside, the landscape of the place is very, very nice, rivaling some of the high-end resorts you find in more touristy (expensive) places. Pool is beautiful, surrounded by coconut trees. Dive center is small but organized, plenty of friendly staff. They drive you to all shore dive sites which are never more than 5 mins away. We were unlucky as a large typhoon in Taiwan caused massive waves along the Bali coast, so our shore dive entries and exist were quite dangerous, but everyone was always there to assist you and to make sure you make it in and out safely. Pauline, the GM of the resort is EXTREMELY helpful. She was super friendly, knowledgeable, responsive, and was GENUINE. She answered all my questions and made sure every detail and concern was addressed prior to our arrival. We also met with this other lady (I'm not sure who's who, because I forgot to get their names), and she was also very nice and helpful.
