It is very convenient to take a bus when visiting the Cheongsusa Temple, as there is a bus stop about 2-3 minutes away. The staff were also very kind and helpful when I stored my luggage before check-in. It is also quite close to the Ninenzaka Starbucks, about a 5-minute walk. If you don't like crowded places, I recommend visiting in the morning or evening. When I went on a Saturday at 10 o'clock, it was not crowded. There is also a convenience store nearby, which is convenient. It is really nice to take a walk in the evening when it is quiet. It looks different from during the day. There are separate keys for the shoe locker and the room, and they provide indoor slippers, which is nice. There is also an elevator, which is convenient for carrying luggage. The staff were very kind in providing information during check-in. The bedding was better than I expected. The mattress was made of latex material and was very firm. The blanket was not too thin. There is a ventilation hole in the room, and the sunlight comes in through there in the morning, letting you know it's morning. When I visited, it was really quiet and I slept peacefully as if I was the only one using it.

I have always been afraid of the quietness, cleanliness, and size of budget hostels, and I am also timid and shy (but I really want to make friends), so I dare not try them. However, this one is really good! First of all, the location is super close to various shrines, and you can walk there! It's super convenient! It's also very close to the bus station, which is great. There is also a Lawson convenience store in front, and you can walk to Gion. The location is definitely 100 points! The place is very clean everywhere, the staff is very friendly, they will take the initiative to chat and help. I am afraid that the bathroom is also very clean! There is no need to compete with others, surprisingly not many people take a shower at the same time! The room is also very quiet! I thought it would be noisy, but it wasn't. No one snored this time, it was really good! However, they did provide a pair of earplugs, haha, it seems that I was lucky not to encounter it. The capsule is more spacious than I imagined, and the bed is super comfortable! (The pillow is average...) I slept so well that I didn't want to leave, haha~ As for making friends... I was alone, and my English is not very good, so I really don't have the courage to chat... I'm very shy... it's a pity... In summary, this is a super great hotel!
Great “Capsule” Hotel”
Not sure if this counts as a capsule hotel in the original sense of the word but I definitely booked it with that expectation. I stayed here 2 nights and I had a good time. Location was a little distance from the main train station (if you’re coming from Osaka), which is walkable. It is in the Gion district, and is just a few streets from the geiko and maiko area. Pontocho, which is a happening area, sits about midway between the hotel and the Hankyu Kyoto-Kawaramachi station. The hotel was very clean and the white, minimalist theme added to it. Staff was really friendly, and spoke great English, but if for some reason you missed their explanations, the rules of the hotel was also visibly pasted in many places. They will also send you instructions on your social media on check-in for some instructions, like how to enter after business hours. There is also a cafe that looked really good (saw customers here who didn’t stay in the hotel), but alas I did not have a chance to try. The dormitory itself was really good! There is an area with huge lockers (no need for padlocks, free) before you can enter the door to either the capsules or showers/toilets. A tip is to just keep all your toiletries and belongings in the area outside of the capsules. This way you don’t have to fumble and be noisy whenever you want to take a shower or whatever. For some reason I forgot to do that on my first night and it was not as comfortable. Within the capsule, there is plenty of space, I would say about 1.5 times that of a single bed. There’s lights, plugs, even a switch to turn on the ventilation and a small safe for valuables. The amenities were also neatly placed in a cloth tote bag which was a really nice touch. Bathrooms were spacious! Honestly, best capsule experience I could have asked for!

Stayed here for 3nights and the staff are so nice and the hostel is clean. Its just quite hard to hangout on the common area and eat on the dining table since there’s a lot of people especially mean hanging around. But I recommend it, amazing location and the best of all I met a new friend.
