      Exceptionally lovely surroundings and villas”

The location in the water gardens, the Rajah's villa, the wonderfully friendly and helpful staff - all are wonderful.

The Tirta Gangga Water Gardens are one of THE most amazing places to visit in Bali, or anywhere, for that matter. And the Tirta Ayu Hotel beautifully blends its interesting history with the built environment and the most wonderfully friendly and attentive staff imaginable. One of us is very elderly (89) and had suffered a severe kick in the leg by a camel before arrival, therefore being somewhat limited in his ability to walk long distances and use stairs. It is a long walk from the parking area to the hotel, and then there are many stairs within the hotel and some even win the villa itself. Guests with any physical limitations should be aware of this before booking, but should also know that the wonderful staff will do everything within their power to acco donate whatever issues arise.

      Location, comfort, cleanliness, staff.”

      Location, comfort, peace.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Tirta Ayu Hotel again. This was the first time we had stayed in the Raja Villa and were very happy with the room, although the steep steps into the room could be a challenge for some. It was cool, spacious, and had everything we needed for a four night stay. The hotel has a lovely pool, a great massage spa and a restaurant that serves international food staffed by gracious and friendly staff who were more than willing to make our stay enjoyable. Sitting in the restaurant in the evening overlooking the gardens is a magical experience. Thank you again Tirta Ayu.

Proximity to Bathing pool, Quality of food

my wife and i stayed here in january. we had a very nice visit to tirtagangga. the hotel is located directly above the pools so it was possible to bathe in them in the evening and again in the morning. the restaurant looks over the pools and had a very high level of food and service. the room was slightly expensive for what you get, but the location made up for it. i would have preferred a ceiling fan to the air conditioner, but more and more hotels seem to think that people want air conditioners and heavy blankets. very strange.

great stay in a temple hotel”

unique small hotel - great balcony restaurant - friendly staff

after a long drive in horrendous traffic it's like an island to be in Tirta Ayu temple hotel. All staff friendly and smiling, very relaxed. Two nights in a bungalow balinese style, unfortunately many lights from the garden are shining into the room as curtains are thin only. Reserved the balcony table overlooking the wonderful garden and royal pools, we enjoyed great breakfasts and dinners, reasonably priced, served with great smiles. Parking and entrance to royal pools free, as well internet access. I highly recommend to stay in this hotel.

awesome location, beautiful view, great restaurant, quiet and relaxing

we loved the hotel. we stayed in the villa raja. the room was big, comfortable and impressive. the bathroom was nice. the ac was super effective, we had no problems with mosquitos. the service was great. the restaurant was also fantastic, a lot of local favorites as well as some really delicious specialties. their chef definitely knows what he's doing. the view from the restaurant overlooking the water palace is absolutely stunning. the entire atmosphere of the place is super laid back, peaceful and serene. the pool is really nice and a perfect place to chill our or get a massage for some relief from the beating bali sunshine. the surrounding area is also exceptional. the epic rice paddy terraces around the corner are apparently the best in bali and offer fantastic views and places to take a nice hike. there is nothing in terms of a town so if you're looking for something to do other than enjoy the peaceful setting your options are limited to none.

The major quality of the hotel ended up being the restaurant. Superb eastern balinese food and great breakfast. We have only stayed for a stopover, one night, but I would reccomend this location for a longer stay. Is not too far from the withe sandy 'Virgin" beach of Pasir Putih that has no accomodation available but a lot of chioces to rest and eat a quick lunch. The villages in the area show a real Bali and are worth a trip. Other historical attractions can be visited from here.

      afterhours access to Tirta Gangga”

      gardens, pools

After the tourist hordes of Ubud, we were so happy to escape to Tirta Gangga. The gardens are somewhat hokey, but they are also quite nice for afterhours strolls, especially in a rain that somewhat evens out the odd statuary of the pools. Hiking up the terraced hillsides above Tirta Gangga is another lovely diversion.

      Beautiful Grounds”

      Location, Comfort, Cleanliness

This hotel is located inside a beautiful water garden park. The room was nice, the staff was very friendly, and the ambiance was relaxing. There isn't much else to see in Tirta Gangga, but I would recommend this place for people traveling through.

Awesome stay in the Water Palace!”

      Service, location, private pool

It was the highlight of my Bali trip (apart from scuba diving which is why I went to Bali). I ended up changing my plans so I could stay here longer, wandering around the Water Palace gardens and cooling off in the pools... as well as being the location of a real palace, this isn't just a tourist location, it's a popular holiday spot for Balinese as well: the night I was there a Balinese family had hired out part of the hotel for a private party, and we were treated to lovely music and glimpses of the beautiful dancers. I stayed in the Rajah's pavilion and as a solo traveller appreciated the luxury and the kindness of the staff. ALSO if you stay in the Rajah's pavilion you get a private skinnydipping plunge pool!

Good, but hardly worth the money”

We decided to stay at this hotel because of all the good recommendations on different websites. After all I have to say it was a good stay, but nothing special. PRO'S: + Clean rooms + Big bathrooms (unfortunately not so clean) + Very nice area with the water palace CON'S: - No quiet place at all because of all the water palace visors - No hotel parking - AC was not working as it should, and in the middle of the night it began to drop water in our room - Restaurant closes at 9pm, last order 8:30pm! - I always had the impression, that the staff was not happy at all, when we just went for a coffee or a juice - No breakfast included, which I think that for this price you can expect it - Restaurant expensive, but nothing special CONCLUSION: It was a OK stay for one night, but that's it. You will definitely find better hotels on Bali

      Heaven on Earth?”

Service, restaurant, gardens, spa - everything!

This is an absolutely gorgeous place! The gardens are exquisite, the room I had large well appointed. The bathroom enormous, and the little private pool a delight! The staff were impeccable, the spa lady and absolute darling, and the restaurant food top class! (The only downside was something that chirped ALL night, and disturbed this otherwise totally serene, restful place.) I cannot recommend it highly enough, and long to return!

      Well worth the money”

Quite a bit more expensive than other places in Bali but absolutely worth it. There are a very small number of villas so the staff all knew who we were and were willing to go above and beyond. The water palace itself is incredible. It's small, but there's just so much detail and little hidden corners. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quiet place to experience traditional Balinese culture.

      Amazing Water Palace Accommodations ”

Staying at the Water Palace was an exceptional experience. The water palace is a tourist attraction and literally hundreds of tourists come to visit every day. Staying there is a treat - you can walk the gardens, fountains, grounds alone after it is closed to the public - the public pools are empty in the mornings as well and it is a treat to swim alone in the palace pools. The restaurant is good and overlooks the beautiful grounds - service is excellent. We stayed at the Villa Raja - a truly royal accommodation and in fact, we were treated like royalty! There is little else in the area -- the is a THE destination in the area and we loved the experience.

      Tirta Ayu Hotel/Water Palace”

Serenity - views overlooking the ornamental water gardens - quiet, comfortable room and the pool immediately outside the room.

We had an excellent stay. It was peaceful and the staff were friendly and efficient. The close links with the community meant that we were able to find local knowledgable guides for trecking and visiting local sites of interest. The food and service at the Restaurant was excellent, while there were a number of Warungs in the area that also provided excellent fare.

being welcomed by Gede Agustino (he called me always by name). Great Restaurant overlooking the water garden.Good home made bread and cakes!

Everything was great, there are only a few rooms, plenty of space for each traveller. Villas with every comfort, Moskito nets at night, daytime a small pool in front of the Villas. Relaxing restaurant with excellent food, good service, friendly staff.
