This was my second stay here. Room was big and clean. Bed was huge and very comfortable. House keeping done every day. Sheets and towels changed daily but I found the red towels much better. I don't what they use to wash the white towels but they seem almost waterproof, after shower I never felt totally dry after using white towels. The only other issue was the safe box in the room, the previous occupant had left it looked so I called reception to have it unlooked, when someone came to unlock it he had a problem so he just picked it up and took it away to open it. Seemed strange to me that the safe box was not screwed down, no issue in the end nothing went missing from the safe

Great 2-star hotel affordable price”
this hotel has enough for me, just stay here from March 27 - 30 for a meeting near Jalan Adisucipto. The room I stayed has no window, but at least it has wide led tv with tv cable, working AC, free wifi and free breakfast.

It was subpar”
The walls were very thin but it was understandable. However, when we stayed the shower was broken, and there was a cockroach on the nightstand. We didn't tell the front desk as we were extremely tired, and were only staying for 1 night, but it was a bit surprising to find a small cockroach.

It was a pleasant stay at Tickle Hotel. The location is great and definitely value for money with the supermarket, bakery, famous chicken rice stall and cinema nearby. The staff was also helpful and fast with any request made, extra room key, laundry etc. Breakfast and rooms are simple. Hotel is clean overall. Only con is that the walls are very thin, you can definitely hear whats happening in the corridors and even in the adjacent rooms. Not ideal for light sleepers. I would definitely come back!

One fine staying”
I stayed for 2 nights with my friends. We did the reservation via agoda. Once checked in, the staff gave me a larger twin beds with promotion price from Agoda. It's near city center, the room was compact yet comfy. The bathroom was clean and dry. But it's quite noisy in the night, since the location is right on the main street in Jogja. If you are looking for the budget hotel in Yogya, Tickle hotel might be one of your options.

Small Hotel, Big Smile”
I stayed in Tickle Hotel for the weekend. It was a good experience; room was quite spacious (for a small hotel), clean sheets, clean bathroom. WIFI connection is also available, so no worry. It is strategically located; I didn't know much about Yogya but staying here made it really easy. Lots of good food around and you can easily get a cab in front of the hotel. However, parking spot is not that spacious - so if you come here with a vehicle, that could be an issue. Breakfast was okay, not special but okay - you can always go outside the hotel to find good food nearby.

It was unexpected.. in a good way”
I was thinking that the hotel would be regular backpacker hotel which lack of this and that. But once I came, I was honestly surprised. The pictures shown in Agoda are the same as reality. That's one good point as I usually get disappointed by some hotel pictures in Agoda. I am also lucky enough to have window as some rooms are having none. The check in and check out are fast. They didn't even check my ID. (Weird.) They also give me double bed as I requested. The room is big, and even the bathroom. I've been to more expensive hotel, 4 or 5 stars, but they didn't have room as big as this one. Talk about location, there's a public bus station near the hotel, and cinema is just 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Airport? Just a straight line from eastern Solo Road, directly to hotel. Malioboro? Another easy access. Go straight to the west, turn to the left, and tadaaa you're in Malioboro.

Great staff”
I stayed for one week in Jogja at Tickle Hotel. The Staff was great and tried their best to accommodate me. In terms of cleanliness, the bathrooms are not North American standard clean, neither are the towels and bed sheets but it was cleaner than most places I stayed at in Indonesia. What is acceptable I think is relative to culture so for my standards, I prefer it to be gleaming white clean so my review of this hotel is neutral, not the best but also not the worst.

could have been improved”
overall is a pleasant stay for us. comfortable bed and pillows. towels change daily. but we would like to point out couples things that should be improved: 1. cleanliness at stairways leading to car park. found food debris for few days never been cleaned. daily mopping will be advisable. 2. no lighting or poor lighting in car park in day and night time. please do something about it. we had hard time locating our rented motorbike. 3. should have a designated parking slot between staff's and guests' motorbikes. as we experienced our rented motorbike always moved in right inside, and when morning comes, it is blocked by staff's motorbikes. hard time to retrieve it. 4. some loud noises, laughters still can be heard at corridor outside our room. 5. hot water heater comes on and off. sometimes can be very very hot, sometimes just at right temperature (without even switching on the cold water), sometimes as cold as the cold water. 6. could be nice if every room has a mini refrigerator to store drink or food that we purchased outside. 7. all food are cold in room temperature when we had our breakfast. i noticed all chaffing dishes' canned heat sternos have been gone out. none of staff replaced it with new one. imagine i had a bowl of soup when it was in room temperature? food just left it in room temperature till end of breakfast time. food safety is main concern in hospitality industry. 8. Breakfast: should have more food varieties and selections. juices tasted like water (too diluted) and another day just like syrup. sliced fresh fruits only papaya available? porridge was too thick like gum. should have adjust the texture regularly. if giving plain porridge should have condiments by the side. those are things that we noticed during our 4 nights stay with Tickle Hotel. I hope management could do something to improve. Improvement does not have to be tremendous instantly but in stages. Thank you.

Base yourself in Yogyakarta ”
This is a new hotel and the staff wants to please and to show that they can offer their visitors a nice, clean place. It's public transportation close to Malioboro St. and a great base to do day trips to Prambanan and Borobutur. We were a short taxi ride-close to the train station from which we went to Mt. Bromo (Anita, the hotel manager, helped us plan our trip East and back again.)A shout out to Fary, the cook, really good food!

Convenient and Clean”
Overall it was a pleasant experience, just what I needed for an accomodation. Clean room, functioning, spacious and clean bath room with decent amenities. The only downside was the non performing wifi connection, as it much needed for the concrete building structure they have, limited mobile network. Should the wifi functioning well, it will be perfect! The staffs were friendly, slightly clueless when it comes to the need of arranging transportation for sightseeing, but they managed to find me a solution and it's working out fine for me. Definitely I will be coming back to stay in this hotel for my future trip.

Value for money for the accomodation”
all accomodation requests were handled easily with no hassles. the hotel is somewhat in a busy area with ample transportation access and access to super markets. the food was local indonesian food, if you are a vegetarian you would be at a major disadvantage. The first day we did not even get bread and eggs, the second day eggs were not an option again. SO do not depend on the food options.

This relatively new hotel is really worth the money, stayed there with family and they sleep comfortly in this hotel, near hotel you can find many restaurants, mall, movie theater and it's just take a couple minutes to tourist attraction such as Malioboro.

Location is very far from Malioboro....”
Shower was broken. No hot water. But room is nice and very clean and quiet. Recommended if you have chartered car or not staying during the Ied - traffic! One hour waiting for the Trans bus, sheltered across this hotel because of the traffic during Ied holiday. No pedicab would take you back to this hotel since it's too far. Taxi would be expensice if it's traffic. But if no traffic would be excellent.

underrated ”
The hotel is very stylish and clean looking with a good location. Most of the staff understand basic English and are very helpful, going so far as to lend me a helmet when my fiancé forgot to bring one for me. I can't believe it's only a two star.
