Truly a magnificent lodge on the river”
We planned to stay in Kampot for a day or two, and just booked our 4th night here. The location is a 3 minute moped ride (rentals available here) to the center of town, or 10 minutes walking thanks to the old bridge. Quite, fun, relaxed atmosphere with the best food this side of the river. Pool table is a great pass-time, fast wifi, deck/chairs over the river looking at the city. The owner and staff are attentive and extremely helpful. They offer helpful information so you can make the most of Kampot. We will be back!

Relaxed Stay on the River”
Myself and a friend shared a twin room over the few days around New Year's Eve. Although Dragon St is the quiet side of the river, the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere more than made up for the walk across the bridge (which I opted for, but tuk tuks are plentiful.) We spent our time enjoying the soothing influence of the river whilst shooting pool, partaking of well made cocktails and strumming the guitars you can find at the bar. Mika was a very hospitable host, and we were lucky enough to enjoy a Finnish hangover meal made by his visiting friend, which certainly cured what ailed us. The staff were very helpful and there are some excellent cooks working in the kitchen...the Spanish omelette was a favourite. A good home base for our stay in Kampot, would go back.

Great value for money”
Terrific for the price. We stayed here for one night during our dirt bike trip. The hotel is located between the two bridges on the riverside opposite form the main town. The rooms were large with clean private bathrooms. The bar and restaurant is built on decks sitting over the Kampot river. So it was great sitting there with a few beers looking over it. The only feedback to give back to the great staff, would be for them to take more control of the mosquitos in all the rooms, there were many.

Great Place”
Its on the quiet side of the old bridge, but still walking distance to the main riverfront area. Very beautiful setting at night when the myriad lights are turned on. You can step down to the small riverside beach. I went here for a romantic getaway and the River Lodge provided the perfect location. I hope more people review it as hotel on trip advisor because it is not as highly ranked as it should be.

Lodge is located off from Kampot town center though it is a walking distance. Dawn from the lounge was beautiful. And following breakfast was western style and nice.

Nice and relaxing right on the river”
The River Lodge is on the other side of the river from the centre of town and therefore a quiet and relaxing place away from the party hostels. Lovely deck right on the river with tables and chairs. Perfect for a breakfast with a view in the morning. Staff were also lovely and always ready to help. The downside is that it is right next to a club which plays loud music. At least in the dorm it was quite loud, not sure if it is less noisy in the private rooms. Also the shower was just a dribble and no lockers in the rooms. All in all I would I would stay again as it is very reasonably priced and I had a pleasant stay.

Water activities are not at the hotel, you have to go upstream a little ways (1-3km roughly). View is nice. Atmosphere was nice. Water pressure in the rooms was horrible, nearly impossible to take a shower. Rooms were nice otherwise. There are a few KTV's/Bars around the hotel but aside from that everything is on the other side of the river.

Great hotel to be at on the river with an ice cold beer in the afternoon, room was 100% clean and great value for money with just a 10 minutes walk to the heart of town, owner and staff are helpful and friendly.

Nice place on the riverside”
The place is on the other side of the river, so a bit of walking and hard to get a tuk tuk from there, to the centre. The place looks nice, but dorms could use a refreshing. They should also do something with the water(extra pump or something), because basically there is none to take a shower. The restaurant area is nice, with a good view on the river, but food is really expensive. Staff is very nice and when they were fully booked, the owner let me sleep in a hammock for a low price

Lovely place. Wrong side of the river but if you're hiring a bike then its a short ride. Mika the owner made us feel welcome and the place even had a mini beach below the decking. The nightclub really wasn't that bad, you can hear some bass but it was no issue falling asleep. I'd go again.

Peaceful location but close to everything”
Very clean and fresh hotel that is right on the river between the two bridges but across the river from the main part of town. It is easy to walk into town but you are away from the noise of all the bars.

Relaxing and comfortable”
We hired bicycles to cross the river into town to eat and to tour the countryside. The Lodge was a lovely place to stay and the riverside restaurant has a peaceful atmosphere and good value meals.

A real life experiences in staying with stranger”
It was rather late when we returned from SihanukVille. The view of this hotel facing the river were great and very relaxing with beer in hand. Watching the sunrises and taking photo shots were good. Quiet in facing the river.

River Lodge is so-so but better options available ”
I showed up and there was no staff to be found, turns out one of the guys playing pool was looking after the place. The room was fine but the mattress was incredibly uncomfortable especially for booking a "deluxe" double. I could feel every single spring in the mattress. The room was not cleaned during the day, no water refills like usual practice at other similar hotel/guesthouses. It is close to the town area but not central so you still need to walk down the street and over a bridge and there's nothing really directly surrounding the hotel. While on a river cruise, we floated past some really truly awesome looking places - some flashy resort looking types and some laidback backpackers. If I could do it again I would have booked one of these to really get that lazy river Kampot experience. OR I wouldve opted for a guesthouse in town. River Lodge was okay to have a place to sleep but I chose this over a hostel to have a bit more a relaxing and comfortable stay and I would say it really wasnt much better than just staying at a hostel. Also, the restaurant/bar is overpriced - can definitely get better for cheaper in town. On the positive side, the lounge area right on the river is quite nice.

The dorm is really basic and do not worth more than 3USD per night. Except for that the rest of facility are really nice, the staff too, free pool, drinks and food are really good. Amazing view on the river !!!

Good value for money”
This hotel is good value for money. Rooms are clean, staff are friendly and very helpful. Sits right on the river and has great views, particularly at night. The only downside was the internet was really slow and sometimes unavailable. Also, rooms weren't cleaned in between our 2 night stay. But overall, would come back to this hotel.

Very good”
Nice place! A little far from the center which was a bummer bc of walking in the hot sun. The location was great for the river though especially at night as the lights reflect off the river. The staff is helpful too and the Khmer red curry is to die for!
