Best modern Kyoto hotel”
We visit Kyoto at least once per year in the past decade and have stayed at most of the better known modern hotels in the city. The overall quality of this hotel is the best to us. Wonderful architecture and design. A good Italian restaurant and very helpful staff. Location is a bit far away from the subway but next to a river and close to some interesting local shops (e.g. a couple of home furnishing and clothes shops by local designers just opposite to the hotel main entrance). Pricey though.

BEST EVER HOTEL I STAYED”
This is a hotel you will love. It's a perfect Japanese piece of architecture. Not a single mistake anywhere.Everything is perfectly placed and planned out for your stay. The location is also perfect, most relaxing hotel, it's a place you must try if you love Japan. The only unfortunate thing I found is that they hire too many foreign staff and they are bringing the quality down. I certainly would recommend anyone who can appreciate quality.

Ok, I said it. I paid more for this hotel than any 5 star in the world and it is worth it. There's not enough to say about the rooms, staff, great cigar bar next door. Food, beds, and staff, staff, staff. If you can afford it, this is THE bucket list hotel.

Gorgeous hotel with friendly and helpful staff”
The setting is lovely, along the river. Our breakfasts were delicious. We tried both Japanese and American style just for the experience. La Locanda restaurant had great food. We didn’t try the other restaurants.

Disappointing stays”
Traveling with mother for vacation. The bed was too soft and not comfy for us. The staffs didn't give much help but only provide wooden board on bed and told us there's no more they could help!! And this is not the only experience from their snobbish staffs. The location was good. The hotel was clean. But we will not recommend this hotel to any of our friends or families.

Remote button to turn on/off the Monitor in the bathroom should have English Menu - it distracted my sleeping whole night long. Everything else is just absolutely perfect!!!!!

子供が産まれてから、コロナの影響も重なりどこにも行けずに過ごしており、子供の一歳の誕生祝いでたまには旅行でも、とこちらのホテルへ伺いました。 初めは子供が小さいので落ち着いてゆっくり過ごせないかもしれないと思っていたのですが、スタッフの西川さんのお気遣い、お心遣い、そして心が温かくなる素晴らしいサービスのおかげでとても満たされた気持ちで滞在することが出来ました。温かいお気持ちに思わず涙がこぼれてしまう場面もありました。この一年の事を幸せに思い、これからも頑張ろうというエネルギーチャージまでする事が出来ました。 心より感謝申し上げます。 主人とも、今まで泊まったホテルのスタッフの方の中でも抜群に素晴らしい方だったねと今でも話します。 西川さん、本当にありがとうございました。 レストランでも事前にお伝えしていた事が通じてない事柄が一つあったのですが、すぐに謝罪してくださり代替案を提案してくださったおかげで嫌な気持ちには少しもならず、美味しく料理を堪能する事が出来ました。レストランスタッフの方もとても気持ちの良い方々で、子供にもとても優しくしてくださり料理もとても美味しかったです。特にイカ墨のパスタは絶品でした。 また滞在させていただきたいです。 ありがとうございました。
