Cheap and comfortable. Ideal for a couple of nights. ”
The Hostel is a really good place if you want to spend a couple of days visiting Edinburgh. A friend a I spent 3 nights there and we found it absolutely suitable for our holiday: a bed in a good dormitory room (the other roomates were respectful and we found enough space for our stuff) and some bathrooms with clean toilets and showers (hot water never failed). We didn't use the kitchen, but appreciated the breakfast provided by the staff (3 puonds for unlimited tea, coffee, hot milk, cereals, bread, butter and jams). It's not far from the city center (both Old Town and Princes street) and close to the Haymarket station which links to the airport.

Exceptional”
Amazingly good stay. The hostel was located at Haymarket, a major station in Edinburgh. The room, although a shared multi-bed one, was bright, clean and well ventilated. The facility is very good. Staff were helpful and professional.

30 seconds from Haymarket station ”
The Hostel has a very good location, you will see it across street when going out of Haymarket Railway station. It's just 20 minutes walking distance from Edinburgh Castle. And there's trams stop outside of railway station, which can take you to Prince Street or airport. There's no lift inside, you have to carry your luggage to the room in 3rd or 4th floor. The kitchen is a bit smaller. Inside the room, there's only one bunker bed(suitable for 1 person in upper bed and 2 persons downstairs) and 1 chair. Check-out time is 8-10:30am, and breakfast (£2 per person)also starts from 8am when the staff comes to work.

Close to anmenities ”
We stayed here as it was quite close to the train station and we were here for one night, as we were here for the festival of the dead. Only thing about the hostel was there was no bin to put our rubbish in and the toilets were separate.

Staff were terrible”
The cleanliness of the hostel I couldn’t fault, we were 3 ladies staying in a triple bunk room. We were here for a festival in the usher hall. I was absolutely disgusted with the way the staff treated us this time. Being accused of smoking drugs in the hostel which clearly wasn’t us , I don’t even smoke , I think it’s a filthy habit. Only got one wee apology which didn’t cut it with us, but I certainly wouldn’t stay here again.

Average”
Out of 3 showers, only one had constant hot water. One was always cold water and the other was lukewarm at best. Not ideal in Edinburgh's wintertime! Understand that we booked during the busy NY period however it was VERY expensive for a pretty basic room in a hostel. I did like the location, was very close (an easy walk) to Royal Mile and other city attractions.

valueable,easy accomodation”
Even the hostel not located at city center but that is near bus stop and small train station. That is easy accomodation. For staff not so friendly that depends on customer which country they came from that is unfair. Bathroom was good clean and enough space for bath. Bedroom was not so ventilate.

I personally would not stay there again!”
Very disappointing. The room that I stayed has bedbugs! The heating was not working and it was 5 degree Celsius. I went to the reception and I have been told that "for that time of the year radiators are turned off as there is no need for it" I really think that should be up to guests to decide if they want the room hot or cold not for the Hostel management. I had to ask for some extra duvets as they did not want to turn it on. The room was facing a busy road and the window was not double glazed, so all the noise from outside could be heard inside the room. One of the window's glass has a hairline making the room even colder. On the last floor, where I stayed only 1 out of 3 showers works, so it was quiet busy to manage to have a shower. I tried to find a way to contact AGODA about the issue as it is also liable for this inconvenience, but every time I click on Contact us I am taking to my booking and no option to speak with someone or write to someone is given.

The worst hostel in Edinburgh !!!”
I strongly recommend you NOT to choose this hostel as following reason!!!! In Edinburgh, there is much greater hostels . Choosing this hostel is like getting rid of your money!!!! 1. This hostel is locating at the next station from old town which you will spend almost time as a tourist. It’s only one station but it takes about 20 min by walking. There is many greater hostels in the old town with same price. It is NO point to stay at the next station. 2. The reception is 7am to 11pm. As I didn’t get any notification about it, I arrived around 11:10 pm. And then they charged me 5 pounds!!!! It’s too much!!! 3. The stuff was not friendly and supportive. There are no elevator. Then I need to lift up my 20 kg luggage by stairs! Of course the stuff NEVER offer to carry! 4.The room was terrible.Too much beds in one room, so there is no space to open your luggage between next beds. Even the drawer of bed, the other parson occupied. It means they didn’t manage well. Also you need to cover bed sheets by yourself. The sheets color looked yellow and shabby...Definitely it was time to get rid of that. 5.Shower runs while you push a button. It means you can’t use both hands for washing your hair or body. It’s ridiculous! Don’t stay this hostel!!! The worst hostel ever!

You get what you pay for”
Sullen, apathetic staff with attitude. I booked a 12 bed room and there were too many beds cramped into a small space. Beds are not assigned, it's first in best dressed and you're given a tattered almost transparent fitted sheet to make your own bed. One patch of electrical sockets for all guests - no individual ones by each bed. No lockers. 3 toilets and 3 showers (With a mouldy ceiling) for 36+ people. Rooms and the front door is accessed by electronic keycard which sometimes decided not to work, locking you out, and reception is not manned 24/7. This hostel feels like a business that just wants to turn over as many guests as possible. The kitchen and lounge area are locked until 8am. One plus: there is a tram stop, train station and bus stops nearby. The city center is a 25-30 minute walk. I felt uncomfortable the whole time I was here.
