Home away from home”
I had stayed 3 nights at first than came back to spend my final night in Manila before heading back to the states just because I loved it. I like this place a lot - the bed was really comfy!! It was exactly the kind of hostel that I needed - clean place & helpful staff who are also super friendly. I felt totally safe and comfortable. The area where the hostel is located is great, too. Close to bars (Check out the rooftop bar at Gramercy for an epic night out with an awesome view of Makati/Manila), coffee shops, shopping centers, parks, etc. I would absolutely stay here again, and I look forward to staying in one of their hostels elsewhere.

Fantastic place to stay in Manila”
Having been to Manila a few times and stayed at some of the worse hostels, this was a breath of fresh air. The location isn't the best (unless you love drinking and shows) but the guesthouse itself was perfect. It was clean, spacious and the staff were great. There was free breakfast (delicious bread/ jam etc) every morning. Close to the guesthouse was a free skydeck at the the garden hotel; 72nd floor (3 mins away) for some nice views of the city. Greenbelt shopping mall was a good 15 mins away by foot too. The lounge area was designed in a way where you can meet fellow travelers. I met and made lots of friends here. Finally, they offer a free walking tour of the city for those of you who have not been to Manila before.

Helpful staff, clean rooms, friendly atmosphere!”
I stayed here almost one week. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was awesome. I was amazed with the stable wifi connection too. The kitchen are nice for self catering. Around the hostel, there are 24 hours convenience stores, bars, market, bank, ATM, shopping mall. Great location!! They also offer some tour around in Manila so if you haven't decided any plans, I'd recommend to stay here for your 1st day in Manila.

Worth it”
The Good Shepherd Hostel is a big hostel with many gusets and rooms, it's local in the central of Makati. It's a little bit hard to find it and impossible to take public transporation to it. Due to too many guests ,the cleaness is hard to maintain. The detail need to improvement.

Nice place to meet people”
This place was nice to meet people and share information before to start out trip around the Philippines. The room was confortable with AC. The staff was also very helpful. They can help you with transportation and they also organize a free walking tour in the old Manila (intramuros) which is nice if you have not much time in Manila. The showers could have been more clean but otherwise we enjoyed our stay at this hostel.

i spent a total of 14days in this hostel last dec/jan, staff are friendly and helpful, the place clean and quiet, and walking distance to makati cbd. loved wednesday mornings most because of the pancakes and eggs for breakfast :-) keep up the good work!

Ideal Hostel in Manila”
I like the atmosphere there, clean dorms and very helpful staff, tours organized to intramuros and 1-day tour with cheap rate, and even free (5+ persons), and the location is also good, walking distance to central Makati. I love this hostel :p

Awesome staff, clean rooms, and convenient!”
I actually stayed here twice in the span of 2 weeks, I enjoyed it so much. 1) I loved how each bunk has light, "privacy" curtains, so there's you have your own space even if you're sharing a room with several other people. Bed was comfy, clean sheets, and clean rooms! 2) I stayed in the 8-bunk room, because it seems to have its own bathroom that isn't out in the common area like the other rooms. 3) Can't beat how friendly and awesome ALL the staff are, and they made me feel super welcome and comfortable. 4) There's an All-Day Mart and 7-11 and ATM/Bank within the block, Wang Mart convenience store right downstairs, money exchange down the street, and you're surrounded by bars/clubs but I think being on the 3rd floor acts as a noise buffer, so it's quiet. Definitely coming back here, or at least trying their sister hostels!

Well worth it”
Very hospitable, knowledgeable and helpful people man the reception! I especially love the free guided tour of the city they provided - learned lots about Manila (didn't know, for one thing, that it has a sizeable ethnic Chinese population!). I chose to stay in a 6/8-bedded hostel dorm just for the heck of it - haven't done so for ages since I'm past my "prime". Fellow travelers were generally mature, considerate and fun. Would stay over again if I visit Manila.

Convenient and Cozy”
This is a good location if you're looking for an affordable place to stay. If you have trainings or seminars in Makati or BGC and you live far away, this is a good place for you. It's accesible and close to shops and food stores. It's a quiet neighborhood. Although their breakfast is so limited, there are dinning areas within the vicinity that serve good breakfast. It's clean and everyone respects your privacy. This is also a good place for backpackers.

The place consist of 2 different hostels "the good Shepard" and "old melting pot". I went there for the price and the free walking tour a wasn't disappointed. They also have a good common area.

Nice place to stay”
- Friendly and funny staff. They can give you a lot of information about some tour, location and tips to travel around Manila. - The room is clean and comfortable - The location is good, but need a sign in outside to more easier to find. (My taxi driver couldn't find it!)

Great stay”
I stayed here for 1 night before my flight to Boracay. For such a cheap hostel, this has by far the cleanest and nicest one. It is a bit hard to find it as there is no signage, you have to walk into a massage place onto the 3rd floor but once you are there all is fine. The staff was very lovely and took us all to a Christmas dinner and celebrations to their sister hostel. Would stay again.

It was great to have a hostel that situated in the middle of the entertaiment town. The room is clean and the toilet...fairly useful and acceptable Condition. The environment is nice and quiet. Nice friendly staff...recommended to anyone

Good shepherd is the place to be of you want to be in the heart of everything in the Metro. The place is a bit tricky to locate but is well compensated by the amenities and the very friendly and accommodating staffs. Its clean and cozy.

In the heart of the Makati food/bar district. Gets very shady at night, but since on the third floor, you won't hear any noise. Not very well signed, so look for WANG MART.
