lovely hotel, great villaged and warm nice staff”
We stay at The Cangkringan Jogja Villas & Spa for 4D/3N. We took for two rooms Kemuning. While during our stay the staff was always willing to help us with maps, communicating to hotline Garuda Indonesia for my ticket, etc. Very good service! All personal of this hotel have very professional skills. We enjoyed Javanese Spa and got fresh mind and body. Surrounded with nice view of Merapi Mountaint. We can see mount Merapi after eruption with the lava tour. The last day we stay, management hotel offered to upgrade our 2 rooms to higher level, without additional cost. Wow... our children very happy to enjoy very large bath tub and swimming pool. Thank u The Cangkringan Hotel...

Great hotel love it,”
Great hotel, what can i say. lovely room, and also services. near mount merapi and you can go in no time. As i'm driving from Semarang, to jogja and have lunch before we go up. Actually that's the best possible option as the food in the hotel is not fantastic, or i can say under the par. We tried to find the hotel when we driving, if you have GPS then you can find it easily as it on GPS, but as my GPS based on local (singapore) i can't find the hotel name until i connected to the internet. Driving there is fun, slightly difficult to find but as i'm a hardcore driving person it doesn't bother me at all. i found it without making a wrong turn. just pay attention to the signage in brown colour. When we reach the hotel entrance, wow... that's a good quality of hotel, indeed its a good quality, full house but i hardly see the people as most of them is on the villa, the room is fantastic, clean and nice. Will try the villa next time. After that we booked the trip to mount merapi (better do in the morning time) and see mount merapi. Dinner we had in the hotel as we too tired to go down to jogja, not that fantastic, i ordered spaghetti. If i'm not really tired and hungry, i won't finished it. Breakfast is average too. But overall, the services, the spa is great. the room great, atmosphere is great, what else you can ask. (if they can make the food better)... awesome. I highly rated this hotel for couples, adventurer, family and honeymooners. go ahead and go for it.

Nice, quiet Hotel at a beautiful location in Jogja”
Recently we enjoyed 3 nights in the Manggar Villa with the private pool. The rooms are big and perfect organized. The Hotel is located at the bottom of the Merapi Volcano. Entertainment areas and Restaurants are a bit far away and with out a car difficult to reach! Overall we enjoyed our stay in The Cangkringan Jogja Villa.

Best getaway destination!”
Stay here for 1 night with my cousin, didn't regret it at all. Was reading all the reviews before we go and found some unpleasant guests comment, yet we didn't find it totally true. Staff was friendly and very helpful, they organize everything for us without any hassle before and upon arrival. Best part is, out of surprised they upgraded our std room booked to a villa, yay! We did take a look at the std room while wandered around and appears it was a new minimalist style building which is also nice to stay at. Room was clean and beds are comfortable. You can also book the Merapi Sunrise Jeep Adventure Tour with them, the jeep trail is very closed. If you plan to do this tour and to visit Borobudur Temple just book here for shorter transfer time. Foods are delicious. We ordered room service for dinner and breakfast and both delivered on time! Very quite location which is perfect for our getaway plan. Not sure in the summer, but it was cold there though not too freezing and you can feel the fresh mountain air. Overall, we are happy to recommend this place to fellow travelers :)

Beautiful well managed villas with great View”
We stayed during low season with our 3 kids of 7, 9 and 11. The rooms we rented were connected to each other and one room had great Mount Merapi view in close up. Golf course is just next door with a golf cart going back and forth as requested. Every 3 villas grouped as a cluster and had a pool, sitting area and 2 billiard tables. They are very clean and well kept with very attentive staff. The restaurant served basic Indonesian food but they are delicious. For non golfers, there is not much activities you can do in the hotel ground, so it is a great place to relax and pamper yourselves with their spa services (I didn't try it). Yogya is a 30-40 minutes away, it's easy to just rent the hotel's car if you need a change of pace.

Relaxing hotel at the foot of Mt Merapi”
We were a group of 3 friends and stayed at room D4 at Maya Villa which shares a living area and a pool with other rooms. However there was no other guests in the villa, so we had the entire pool to ourselves. Our room opens out to the pool which makes it really relaxing. The hotel is about 30minutes drive from the city and is very near Mt Merapi. We went for a Mt Merapi tour which does not bring us to the top of the mountain but to where a lot of lava stones were. The hotel is also next to a golf resort which has an amazing view for playing golf. There is nothing much to do here but it's a great place to relax, order room service, chill by the pool and go to the spa. If you need to go to the nearby minimart, the staff can offer a short drive. The only thing is the wireless internet is very weak and almost non-existent. The food is also average. Staff is friendly but their English is limited. If you are staying here, I suggest you contact a local tour agency beforehand who can arrange for pick-up and tours for you to Borobudur or Prambanan. As we didn't do any research, and there was no internet, we relied heavily on the hotel for transport arrangements.

Quiet hotel, nice facilities”
We booked a Kemuning Room as it fit our budget. The room itself was clean, but a bit small and lacking in character, especially when compared to the more expensive suites with private pools, etc. However the price was good, so we were satisfied. Our biggest complaint comes from the lack of service. While all the staff were friendly, we did not receive service of a 5-star hotel. In particular, the brochure mentioned a) free airport return pick up, b) a welcome drink, c) free afternoon tea/coffee and snacks. Upon checking out, we were charged 150,000 rupiah for the return trip to the airport, we never received any "welcome drink", and we were charged for our afternoon coffee (in fact overcharged, they accidentally added 40,000 rupiah to the total). After arguing the bill, they waived both charges - but they made us feel as if they were doing us a favour. There was only one other room booked in the entire hotel, so perhaps their business is not quite what they expected, and cannot offer the free services they promise. However that is not our fault. If you have the money, then this is an excellent hotel. But it's not the 5 stars that it advertises. Also, I should note that the spa prices were 4-5 times higher than the equivalent if you go to a spa in Jogja.

Gorgeous Hotel With Friendly Service”
1. Wonderful selection for couples & honeymooners 2. Gorgeous design of the villa. Love the outdoor bathroom & bath tub. 3. Great privacy for couples who wish to enjoy romantic quality time together. 4. Room phone not working, so we need to walk all the way to lobby if we are requesting something to be sent to villa. 5. Insufficient hot water, not able to fill up the bath tub for bath with warm water. Only able to fill up 30% of the big tub then the hot water will stop.

Nice place, great service ”
Located in a very nice and quiet area. We can see Mt. Merapi very clear. We like the outdoor bathroom, it feels so tropical. Nice villa for a family, couple, or group trip! Although it's far from the city, surprisingly you could get a taxi online to and from there, which makes it easy. But of course you could also book a transport from the villa.

We were upgraded because standard room does not have a balcony as mentioned on the website. Villa rooms are outstanding!! Beautiful view of mount Merapi. Spa is very good and also the golfcourse is fantastic!

Not really Jogja”
The hotel has wonderful grounds and nice rooms. The staff is first rate and anxious to please. The food is quite good, but when there are not many customers in the hotel, the hours of operation for the hotel can be restrictive. The largest negative about the hotel is the location, it is a significant drive to Jogjakarta: more than an hour actually. This makes sightseeing quite difficult; there is no regular shuttle either so arrangements must be made. Traffic in Jogja can also be quite unpredictable making for long drives back to the hotel especially after a day of walking-intensive sightseeing.

Stayed in Gading Villa for 1 night. The design and ambience is excellent. However, Cangkringan really need to improve their hygiene standard, especially if they provide an open-air bathtub.

It was a very relaxing and peaceful stay over at Cangkringan. Its absolutley quiet. The only glitch towards our stay at Cangkringan would be the insufficeint room srvice during the long holiday season. Other than that, wonderful place.

Very nice hotel, the bungalows are very clean and comfortable. The staff helped us a lot in giving free internet access on their office computer, in sending faxes, all for free. They picked up at Jodja, over a hour away. Recommended ! At least at the price we payed

Atttentive and accomodative staff, lovely villas”
Wasn't planning to stay here but agreed to revise the booking. Turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Location is remote and isolated, and quite a drive through the countryside from Yogyakarta city. On the other hand Gunung Merapi is very near, and the hotel's offer of a sunrise breakfast on the slopes of the volcano was too good to refuse. Staff was also very helpful in arranging excursions at Prambanan as well as trip to Borobudur.

Lovely, Comfy, but a bit noisy”
The hotel is quite far from Jogja as expected. Climate is very nice and room is clean and ample of space to play. It is just in such a secluded location, we expect quiteness and serenity. But at 4:00 to 5:30, noise from motorcyle going to Merapi Golf destroy the atmosphere at such an early morning. Need to improve the sound proof of the room next to Merapi Golf road.

Five star hotel with scanty facilities”
I booked arum ndalu villa as many as 1 rooms villa and 1 orchids room for 2 nights/3 days, I appealed for beforehand closely monitor your order because orders cannot in abort. To villa arum ndalu listed price is to 1 villa instead of the chamber 1 villa to contain three rooms. This is it is not common, I often stay in the place of another, in general 1 villa contains 1 to with several chambers. For the price of five star with facilities being scanty in yogyakarta lodging this classified as very expensive. The location of very remote and it is far from the crowd fit only for honeymoon. A swimming pool facilities personal arum ndalu and a public pool in a condition of the water is dirty. Hotel locations very difficult to reach for those who is the first to kaliurang. The Food in cangkringan Villa not yet worthy to class five-star hotel
