Singaraja hotels & places to stay

Having read mixed reviews we were a bit wary as to what to expect but being on a tight budget we took a chance. We had only booked two nights as we were attending a local wedding near Singaraja and the location of Pop! was perfect. When we arrived the immediate reaction was "yes, the view is excellent!", then we were greeted by very friendly, upbeat staff. Some reviewers have mentioned poor English and yes it could be a touch difficult, however, this is Indonesia where English is not the first language! Patience is the key and maybe Google Translate if necessary, or......learn the Indonesian language. Honestly, the staff were very helpful and friendly, a real credit to the management. We had booked two rooms (one for a couple and one for a single) both with sea view. Beautiful! The window didn't open but that's the style of building, it was still a great view from the rooms (303 & 305). The room itself was clean, some minor wear and tear could be found but it didn't make it unpleasant. The bed was very comfortable, the toilet/shower is a bit tricky but no real issues. Unfortunately there's no real space for clothes but most places like this have the same problem. The pool area is sensational and very enjoyable for relaxing. The beach gets a lot of rubbish on it but we watched the staff get out and do some cleaning, really it's an ongoing problem all over Bali to have rubbish everywhere, not just here. Education and a better understanding of environment to everyone is the key, not blaming Pop! The staff did a great job. We ended up staying another night at Pop! and would certainly stay again. I'm Australian, my partner is Indonesian and my mum Scottish.....we all enjoyed our stay at Pop hotel Singaraja. It's a budget price in a brilliant location and a short walk to the pier for good food (especially if you don't like the breakfast snack.....I enjoyed the nasi uduk but I love local food). Thank you Pop! we had a great time and your staff were very friendly.

Friendly staff in a very relaxed quiet environment. Prefect for a relaxing break. Food available on site, but not the best quality. Staff do the best with what they have but ingredients used are cheap and low quality which does not reflect the price charged for items. I would challenge the owner to step the quality up to provide a complete package so that all Elements of the Accomodation are at an excellent standard, and not let down by budget foods at inflated prices. Despite this comment a great place to stay.

Alam Anda is an ocean facing resort in true sense. Actually you are right into the waves. This is so because it is primarily a diving centre. I myself am not a diving enthusiast but this property showed up in my search results. Our ocean facing bungalow ( yes, the property is a cluster of standalone bungalows) was just a stone's throw away from ocean . The bungalows have modern amenities and have a general rustic and laid back theme. Beautiful wooden furniture in the verandah. Bright colured cushions thrown over floor. An ideal place to enjoy your chilled beer in the evening or a hot cup of coffee in morning enjoying awesome sunrises. The only problem with the place is that it is 3.5 hours from Airport So, if you are interested in diving, This is the ideal place for you. . Second category of people is who enjoy quite, relaxing surroundings. Who love to laze on a sun lounger, just absorbing the serenity, looking at ocean, sipping their beer or coffee.

This is as exotic as Bali can get. Instagram heaven for pictures. Breakfast was included and big portions, dinner you have to order in advance for 90 000 IDR. Wifi was working okay for whatsapp and Facebook. Open outdoor bathroom with amazing view over rice fields while you're having shower. Ask for upper floor room to have the best view. Cooling fan was good and strong. No windows but bamboo shades which make it more exotic. Spring pool is amazing and clean and I had a swim there. Staff is friendly and speak English. We were so happy that we booked and stayed additional night. We will definitely stay again. No issues. Highly recomended. 5/5

We had a very relaxing stay at this beautiful villa right on the beach. We were planning to do some trips during our 3 day stay, but instead we decided just to enjoy the peaceful garden, beautiful views of the ocean, and do some snorkeling. The villa is very nice and clean, with a very good wifi:) and not to forget the staff who made our stay even more comfortable, they are very kind and helpful. Thank you :)

This is such a nice hotel set in an amazing quiet location in amongst the rice fields. 2 really nice warungs an easy walk away and local prices. Very cheap and good food. Even the kiosk at the pool had good crazy cheap local food. I don't drive so transport could have been an issue but the staff basically took me on the back of their bike to where I needed to go. Gede was so helpful and so were the rest of the staff.

Hidden Gem! Pool is great, hosts are lovely and kind and super helpful. Its a beautiful and clean place, it's quiet. Breakfast was delicious with homemade bread and jam. We would go back anytime! Really beautifully arranged zen garden, i love the woodstock twist. The hosts were really helpful and went over and beyond. We had forgotten our son's stuffed animal at Woodstock and then drove all the way to sanur before our flight back to bring the stuffed animal. Enjoy your stay!

Almost everything about this hotel is excellent - location, facilities and activities. But one thing stands out particularly - the staff. If you had any requirement or wish, they will help you immediately and with smile. I cannot recommend enough this place for travellers who are looking for a getaway from crowds and stress - BBC is The Place to do that. We are looking forward to visit BBC again! P. S. If you are looking to experience local livelihood and tradition (the real Bali, not the touristic one) look for Potok - he is hanging out the beach typically and will take you around Bondalem with his motorbike for a small fee (it's up to you). In other words - our family loved staying here.

I'm not one for writing reviews or even score accommodations even though I enjoyed them... But this is one for the books: We arrived after a pleasant introduction to Bali in Kuta, Seminyak and Ubud. As Ubud (city) was fairly crowdy and noisey, we wanted to see the more easygoing side of the island: which by our best guess was North. The villa is situated right off the slim black sandy beaches, properly tucked away from the main road beside other quiet looking resorts and villas. We were welcomed by one of the very (sincerely) kind staff members, and even though we were way too early for check-in at 2 PM we were escorted to one of the cousy huts in front of the villa. A nice double bed with groovy sheets and proper klambu hanging from the ceiling was what we found inside; No TV, but who would need or even want one at a place like this? The main villa, at the time, was used by the owners (Putu and Matthew) and their little ones (Raymond, and yes, you guessed it, Selina). These guys (including their staff!), were absolutely lovely. Very helpful in providing anything we wanted or needed. We loved the kids and their pets (2 dogs and a kitty) who always bringing cheer to a relaxing day near the pool or beach. The best food (breakfast, lunch, snacks or dinner) we have had in Bali (or even ever..) came from Putu and her girls in the kitchen. Served at any time and any location on the premises (of course within reason). During our stay, their driver (Ketut) drove us to Mt. Batur at 2 AM. He even arrived a bit early, so we were able to get a nice spot on the top to see the sunrise and enjoy the view. As we enjoyed this down to earth guy and his service we took his offer to bring us elsewhere on our way back down south. If you need a cooldown from all the south / central city hassle and / or enjoy Bali's sights, visit this wonderful little paradise! It will be a rejuvenating experience for families, couples or solo travelers. Cheers!

This was the last stop in my stay. I must say the place was awesome. If you ever stay here you must go trekking with BOB. That is the best thing about the place. Also location will make you stay with the mother nature and enjoy nature. I travelled around bali, but this was the place that I was looking In my vacation. Awesome place filled with awesome people. Must say, enjoyed the free lunch that they offered after the trekking

Tout était parfait sauf : la nourriture n'est pas top (le resto juste à côté est bcp mieux), pas de matériel pour cuisiner, le personnel entre dans la villa quand bon lui semble, 4 transats pour 6 personnes, les lampes de la piscine ne fonctionnent pas. Endroit parfait pour les dauphins. Bcp mieux que lovina. Pas de touristes. S'arranger avec le serveur du resto d'à côté.

I almost didn't want to write this review because I don't want to give up one of the best-kept secrets in Bali. We stayed in the tent room they had but I believe they have other accommodation. The tent was spacious clean, comfortable and the location is simply stunning. The beautiful hills of north Bali surround you while the tents are nestled in between rice fields and picturesque waterfalls. It's one of those places you just have to see for yourself. Ketut and his cute dog Maya are more than helpful. They'll tell you the best things to do around there and make a delicious breakfast as well.

Worth the 2 hour taxi drive to get to this hotel. This was our best bit of Bali. Very disappointed with other parts of Bali, but this place is stunning. Not a great of other things to do in this valley, but for a total relax this hotel is a must.👍 there is another restaurant within 5 min walk ,and a small shop. Arrived here with cards but not a lot of cash . So please note !hotel will only exchange dollars, so had to get locals to take us to cashpoint in town 20 min away. Very very nice place to stay. If in Bali , go here 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

The location is perfect for this secluded getaway. Be ready for a bit of a drive to get there. The chef is amazing and the food was flavoursome and innovative and the menu changes on a daily basis!!. The ocean was pristine with lots of beautiful fish to observe with snorkels. The grounds were immaculate, the staff lovely and ready to help but unobtrusive and because the resort is a 16yo+ only, we had a lot of peace and quiet. No TVs in the rooms meant a lot of rest and relaxation. The gym and yoga classes were great and after two days we felt refreshed and recharged. And the masseuses were ah-amazing. They were so lovely and talented. There was really no need to leave the resort. A HUGE thank you.

Lost in the mountain, but close to the see. Realy connected with the nature; big and nice wild garden, vegetable garden all around, very nice outside bath room. Break fast; the best I ever had in Bali. Passion fruit fruit jam realy delicious, home made bread realy (and as I am french I know what's good bread ;)... Bedroom large, realy clean, nice , with encens! Employees doing their best for us.

This is a budget hotel that is a bit outdated but nonetheless was clean, safe, and well maintained. The staff was excellent! Every request was attended to immediately and in a friendly manner. My one suggestion would be that the staff do not call early(6:30 a.m.) to ask if you want breakfast. Their efficiency was impressive but I was still sleeping both days and was awakened by the calls, which I had not requested. But overall, if you are looking for a budget hotel in Singaraja this is certainly a good option.

This is a 2-storey banglow complete with bedroom, family area and kitchenette. It is locate 4 meters from the beach. Although quite remote from the main road, it is guarded day and night. It is also located in the center of a fishing village and one could witness the daily activities of the villages such as going-off and return of fishing boats, near-shore fishing activities and coconuts harvesting.

We spent only one night at the Villas, we had rented a car to visit the temple and all around the Mount Batu. We were exhausted while arriving at the Villas after a longish drive through the ups and downs and narrow bad roads of the center Bali. We first found the Villas a bit far away and isolated compared to Seminyak or Ubud. The Villas is a recent recent well executed construction, very comfortable and equipped. The pool is superb and sunny, the rooms and attached bath room are large and well organized. The staff is discreet and take care of everything, the room was make-up again while we were at the breakfast, they came to roll-down the roll screen and place mosquito repellent in the evening. The food is excellent and very well served. We recommend this place for its quietness and calm for those who prefer stay a bit far away.

There are 2 dogs, one large, one small, that free-roam. They followed us to our room, and when we entered, the small one snuck in between my legs. Words were useless, so a few whacks with a pillow and it went out. Later we went for a walk and the large one followed, everywhere. My wife has what many would call a phobia, but based on a prior attack she is scared of dogs, and its close attention, even with us continually changing sides so I was between her and the dog, resulted in her becoming increasingly agitated and drenched with sweat. Then to dinner, and the dogs were there, sniffing and licking around, lying under our table. To sleep, only to be woken at 10:40 by loud, nearby barking. I opened the door, and both were on the doorstep. The small one again tried to enter, but I blocked him this time. 11:25, woken by dogs; 12:25 ditto, 1:10 ditto; in all cases yelling at them shut them up for a while. The dogs "slept" on the guest sofa and dining chairs within metres of our room. At 3:15 they put up a real performance and when I came out, headed off into the distance. When we got up, they were back, one on a dining chair and one on the mat outside the next room's door. I went for another walk, without my wife, and the big dog tracked me all the way, again. The staff said they were the owners dog, but she was not there, so the staff had no control and option but to allow them to pester the guests. Even our driver, a Balinese man used to Bali's dogs, said he only got a few hours sleep.

I am not usual to write feedback ( this is the first time) but I never had in my Life such a good treatment. The family of the guest house treat us as a member of their family and they make us lived the real colture of Bali in a genuine way. This villa was beautiful, especially for th price. It is located on th ocean with a huge oool. We were looking a break from it all, no restaurants/shopping and that’s just what this is. Amazing chef who cooked breakfast lunch and dinner for $25 au per day and a really nice driver if you do want to go exploring. Massage by the pool, this was a total battery recharger, and the villa is huge. Thanks for a great break we will be back

What a great find this place was. The Staff were all so amazing and accommodating. The meals were really excellent and high quality.. my Wife is a chef and was really impressed. The large villa we had was so great.. the only issue was the bed was not super comfortable, and there is a fair bit of road noise at night from the trucks. I would stay again.. thank you
