Sanur hotels & places to stay

Me and my partner travelled throughout Bali and Lombok during August and early September, this was the last hotel we stayed at and decided to treat ourselves to an expensive, swanky hotel. We had stayed in Sanur previously so had the chance to view all the large beach front hotels - the Puri Santrian was by far the most appealing looking. The staff were unrivalled in their service (most places have friendly staff, but they often get distracted easily which is generally funny unless you are hungry!), they were attentive and the food was excellent. Location wise the hotel is very good, beach and 2 pools are clean and easily accessible, even if getting loungers is a challenge after 10.30 am. Many bars and restaurants can be found just outside the hotel and the main road is a 10 min walk or 10,000 Rp bemo (for 2) or 20,000 Rp taxi away. Rooms were large and clean, lighting was a little poor (not very bright) and the air-con unit placement was "unconventional" to say the least but still just about did its job. There are hotels in Sanur that cost only a fraction of the price (we paid around a third of the price for our other Sanur hotel which was also very good clean, air conditioned and with a pool) that are equally spacious and comfortable - this would be my one real negative point, however these hotels do not boast the same quality in location or breakfast provision (both in range of food available and quality of food).

We stayed at The Maya for a week, we had 5 days booked but after a not so enjoyable stay at another Sanur resort we decided to cut our stay short at that resort & move to the Maya 2 days earlier. I am so happy we did. It is so beautiful, tranquil & the service we recieved was truly 5 stars. We were lucky to be upgraded from the garden view to a pool view room which was greatly appreciated, thanks to Barry the Duty Manager who was so helpful to us during our stay, thanks so much Barry. The pool view rooms have a table & 2 chairs on the balcony where as the pool view rooms have a very comfy day bed to lounge on. The rooms are all spacious with all the amenities you could want. Breakfast was ample with your eggs cooked how you want. Also the cappuccino was great something you would expect from a 5 star property. Staff @ breakfast & in the restaurant were lovely, friendly & so willing to please, a big thankyou to Krishna & Padmini who looked after us during breaky & dinner. Padmini went over & above when realising my husband was sick in bed with bali belly on our first morning she came to the room with bread & tea so he didn't miss out on breakfast. The pool over looked the beach & was gorgeous & my only complaint about the pools in Bali is they are not heated, l like a heated pool. This hotel is well worth a look if staying in Sanur it is probably one of the best as it is a boutique hotel. A big thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Maya Sanur.

The majority of the Sanur hotels and resorts were built 25 to 50 years ago and Girya Santrain was built in 1970’s however it’s been updated several times since but the rooms still have a dated atmosphere. The reason I mention this is because the majority of the beach front hotels in Sanur can’t be compared with the more modern hotels rooms elsewhere in Bali. It’s context, Sanur with its white sand and peaceful atmosphere is different to the hectic pace of the Kuta, Legian, Seminyak side where the hotels are more modern. Griya Santrain would be one the better beach front hotel/resorts with several pools, the pool bar looks like lots of fun and with direct access to the beach it a great spot. The gardens are well established and beautiful. A dated but a decent sized bathroom with separate shower and bathtub which is a blessing, the need to not get into the bathtub to have shower was certainly appreciated. Very comfortable bed and a selection of pillows with quality linen. Perfect! The “Pool View” room was great, but if you wanted peace and quiet I imagine the Garden View rooms would suit. The hotel restaurant set right on the beach is very nice however I think the hotel management should increase the budget of the kitchen… if you get my meaning. Breakfast, I guess it could be classed as equivalent to 3 star hotel. The morning coffee is either the brewed style or AUD$4.20 extra for a cappuccino which is equally as bad… skip the coffee and go to one of the other beach front hotels with a trained barista at the machine. In general, the food is below par of what is served elsewhere in Bali, why management doesn’t improve the situation is astonishing. They have good, friendly capable staff, the perfect location therefore why not make it the point of difference between other eateries in Sanur? Send the kitchen staff to some of the places in Seminyak. For breakfast and lunch “The Nook”, for dinner there are too many to mention. People do pay for a great meal and also retur

Its was my third time staying with Prama Sanur Beach Hotel. This time I visited with my six years old daugther. We had a blast. The hotel is a beachfront property with mini waterpark, kids club, and plenty of restaurant options within walking distance. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. It has plenty of gazebos, and places to relax. Prama Sanur Hotel has always suprises me with their extra care of attention for their guests to fill comfortable and taken care of. Sanur is also a good place to do watersports such as paddle boarding, surf, paraglidding, etc. I also recommend a local yet vibrant western asian fussion restaurant called Batu Jimbar Cafe. Its a must cafe for me to dine in when im in Sanur area. The food is AMAZING and the staff are so friendly. As for driving aroud Bali I recommen hiring car+driver with Astra Trac Rental Car. They have alot of brand new clean car options with proffesional yet punctual service. The drivers are always so polite and informative

This hotel was simply perfect for me and my girlfreind. The hotel itself was so classy in design, it was a thrill each time to walk back into the foyer and look at the art and the design - it really caught our attention regardless of how many times we walk through. The rooms were so big!! Everything was perfect in the rooms and it felt like we where special. There was no outside noise - no one elses tv or motorbikes on the street, the room was our little oasis when we where tired from a fun day. The staff were amazing and were so freindly and considerate. They did so many little things that preempted what we where thinking so we literally had to think of nothing - just coffee!! They where so warm and freindly we miss them already. The location is so central in Sanur - right in the middle of everything - each day we had to choose to go left or right and go for an adventure as the hotel was so central and the beach was only a short walk down the lane. Overall its our go to hotel in Sanur

This mid size hotel in Sanur is excellent value for money. Perfect for families with children 6 + (under 6 children need a carer in kids club). Modern refurbished rooms, restaurant onsite, spa services on site, kids club with long half tube slide. 5-10 min walk out back gate to Sanur main shopping street or a couple of dollar taxi ride. Highly recommend if you have a family and looking for good quality low cost accommodation in Sanur.

The Inna Sindhu is situated on the beach with many fabulous restaurants close by. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast is very good. This is a training Hotel owned by the Government, some staff have limited English but that is never a problem. We have stayed in many Hotels in Sanur and since our first stay here.....it is now our second home.

This is a new hotel in Sanur and as expected, the bedding was all brand new and so comfortable! The room itself was a nice size, great HUGE TV, massive bathroom and even a chair on the deck overlooking the pool with a drying rack (so handy). The staff here were incredible, so helpful and friendly, it was sad to say goodbye to them after a week. We ate at the restaurant and the food was definitely better than most other places on this street, served in a very nice setting (inside or out, your choice). We were in room 304 which is at the back of the hotel and we experienced no noise problems at all. This is Bali so you expect to hear scooters, dogs, roosters, bar music - but we heard nothing. Deep slumbers every night! Can't say enough good things about this place, loved it, will be back again.

On Agoda, this place is listed as "budget", but I really wouldn't consider it so. I've stayed at 3 different hotels in Sanur and Taksu is certainly my favourite. The rooms are large and comfortable, the pool is nice, each room has its own hotspot (so great Internet - very important for me), if you pay for breakfast it's quite good, the staff is super friendly, it has a shuttle but is a few minutes walk to the beach/restaurants. My only suggestion is that you book on Agoda, not the hotel site. When at the hotel, there were a bunch of signs talking about booking directly with them and price matching, but when I reached out about that - they quoted me 50$ more per night than Agoda. I just think they shouldn't have those signs if they can't even come close.

The Bali Emerald villas are an absolute delight. We loved the spacious bedrooms and the living space is great. When we entered the two bedroom villa we were delighted with the way it was enclosed by high walls adorned with beautiful foliage. There was a housekeeper from 9 am until 4pm who was willing to do laundry, tidy up and help to prepare food. We were pleased that even though there were three bedrooms and we had only booked two, the other was left vacant for our privacy. There was no breakfast included but you could order food from the reception. The villas are in the village of Sanur and are a 3 minute walk from a lovely beach. There were plenty of lovely breakfast options in the village. It is easy to recommend this for either a couple or a group of friends.

I have stayed at ARTotel at least 15 times in the last 6 months, it’s my first choice for a reasonably priced hotel in Sanur when I am diving there. The rooms are all quite modern and well equipped, the roof top pool is nice but can get busy in peak times. The hotel is only a short stroll away from the beach and there are some great restaurants nearby within a few hundred yards - it’s on the quieter end of Sanur if you want lots of restaurants or bars but it’s a few dollars in a cab and they aren’t hard to get if that’s the case. The staff are the friendliest I’ve encountered in any hotel in Bali

The Regent is a recently opened luxury hotel in Sanur area of Bali,located on the beach at Sanur easily accessible from the airport (20 mins). The building has impressive design and architecture and is furnished with local type furnishings and artwork. The rooms are stunning with wonderful open vistas, from an ocean view suite. (note there are no beach view rooms – the hotel layout means that ocean view rooms are viewing the sea over the beach front pool and restaurant building). The rooms are laid out such that the rising sun floods in directly onto the bed in the mornings (there are blinds to block this out, if you wish). The rooms are uncluttered and tastefully furnished with the outside balcony area serving as an open air lounge. The room has wifi and a complimentary minibar (non alcoholic). The bathroom is large and well stocked. A butler service is provided to help with any additional needs. (We stayed in an Ocean View Premier Suite) The main facilities are good and I found the food excellent. A full breakfast buffet is provided. The hotel pool is large with an infinity type boundary looking out to sea. The beach is an effectively private section of the main beach with sunbeds overseen by hotel security. The sea is gentle but good for swimming at high tide. There are many neighbouring beach front hotels, cafes, restaurants and all kinds of beach activities. The hotel is still working out how to clear seaweed and occasional rubbish from the beach and could improve that. The hotel is only 150m from one of the main thoroughfares in Sanur with easy access to restaurants, pubs, cafes, shops etc. with a very relaxed atmosphere and seems much less crowded and slower paced than nearby Kuta. We enjoyed our stay and found all of the staff very helpful and polite. I would recommend this hotel for a restful luxurious stay at the beach. We plan to go back again soon.

Best budget hotel in Sanur. Although towels need changing, not bright white anymore. Looks old. The sheets also smelled like it was sun dried. Pls use fabric conditioner next time. We were out all day anyway so sleeping was okay. Was able to sleep well. Massimo Gelato very near too. Pharmacy and Medical Center very near. Sanur beach better than Kuta, so skip it. Go to the beach and eat at La Playa, the best resto! Was also near a supermarket. Best value for money. Make sure you book it on sale without breakfast, just have breakfast outside, way better. Starbucks is also 2km away, you can ride grab. This hotel still deserves the 8/10 rating.

Kejora Suites is a beautifully designed new hotel in Sanur. It is in the main strip for shopping and a very short walk to the beach via a private back door. The colours in the room and brilliantly mellow and well complimented and the free nespresso style coffee machine is great! The foyer area is very well designed and leads smoothly to the pool area and up to the rooms. There are trendy design and travel books available for borrowing in the foyer which is a truly lovely touch.

The Mercure Sanur hotel is a good hotel and most beautiful area in Sanur. we always stay there because all is in Mercure Sanur hotel is great. We like almost in there and we always stay there if we travelling in Bali..I have good and nice memory in the Mercure Sanur hotel special for my birthday at July, 29 last year..The manager hotel give us the room nearly pool side and kids club and nearly beach..so I think is a beautiful moment at my birthday..in the afternoon we can ride bicycle for the hotel area..and looking for sunset. all in The Mercure Sanur hotel is good..beautiful moment..Thank you Agoda for choose the Mercure Sanur hotel for value the money and good location.

Grand Inna Bali is true to it's name. This Matron is spread over around forty hectares ( inclusive of golf course), along Sanur Beach There is the high rise: the Grand ( offering sea view rooms), then The Garden and the Resort with leisurely spread bungalows. There are few swimming pools, bars and restaurants to choose from. The Service is nice, swift and attentive. Sanur Beach with dozens more restaurants, is at your doorstep. Local shops, markets, cheep eateries, massage and beauty shops are 5 minutes walk away. We stayed at the Resort; in a comfy bungalow surrounded by pretty gardens. I spoke to many guests who have been staying here every year ( some have been coming here for 15+ years ). Breakfast is excellent, location is great, Service is top, value is unsurpassed. We stayed for a week and came back a week later ( after some islands exploring ) and we will stay here in future; this is a nice home away from home. We stayed for 3 nights in a 1 bedroom suite. it was immense, very comfortably furnished, and a beautiful room. We had a big tub in the bathroom and a huge private jacuzzi. It included a very good breakfast. There was a wide choice of selections on the breakfast menu, and we could choose to have our food delivered to the suite at a pre-arranged time, or have it at the restaurant. Service was excellent, and everyone was always very helpful. The food in the restaurant was quite good, not cheap but comparably priced to other restaurants in the area. Tables are set around the pool - a pretty area. There are several restaurants on the beach (away from the resorts) that are much cheaper though. The price also included an afternoon cocktail (a few choices of drinks included). Drinks that aren't included are very expensive. Massage prices seemed quite high so we didn't try them, and there were many spas in the immediate area for about 1/2 the price. Good location, although not on the beach, and free transportation to any place in Sanur (though you need to take a cab back). We used the pick-up service from the airport which worked well, but took a taxi back because the meter was so much cheaper. (Taxis in Sanur try to negotiate a preset price, but we found the meter to always be cheaper.) We got a great discount on the room through Agoda, so it was a terrific value. However, some of the other resorts in Sanur that are right on the beach may be better choices if paying full price.

Natah Bale is set just off the main street with 10/12 villas. Large rooms, indoor and outdoor living and dining areas. Swimming pool is quiet and relaxing due to small number of villas. Villa and surroundings were cleaned daily. Wide selection of food, good quality and very cheap. (Cheaper than surrounding places). Natah Bale collected us from airport for 150,000rp approx 7.50, even waiting 2 hours whilst we dealt with issues with lost baggage in Singapore airlines. We requested a cot and mosquito net for baby which was provided free of charge. All requests met promptly and to our satisfaction. The villa is set just iff the Main Street offering access to 20/30 bars/rest within a 10/15 min walking distance. Supermarket about 2km away, £1 in a taxi. Beach is a short 10 min walk from villa. A great stay and would highly recommend if you are visiting Sanur. 9/10

We stayed in Villa Tulip June 2015 and was so impressed that we had to come back. This trip in March 2016 was just as enjoyable as the last. We had Villa 3 this time, slightly smaller than Villa 1, but for a couple or small family perfect. The staff as usual were always on hand and always willing to help out or respond to any requests. The Villa was beautiful and clean and cleaned daily. Breakfast was cooked in our own outdoor kitchen and alfresco, with a great choice of food. We basically just had everything for breakfast. The location of Villa Tulip 1 at first seems quite inland, but once you discover the short-cut it is an easy 7 minutes walk to the main street shops and the beach. Sanur for those that haven't visited before is quiet and appears to attract older visitors which suits us perfectly. This time in March it was very quiet, but that meant even better service at most places we visited. I can highly recommend Villa Tulip 1, we will be back again.

Very reasonably priced hotel in Sanur, the rooms are spacious, the pool is nice with plenty of beds and there is a pool bar. Location is good, on the quieter end of Sanur but there are still plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. My only negative at this hotel was that there was no safe in the room, they do provide one at reception but it’s too inconvenient - for that reason alone I’d be put off staying as I like to keep laptops and passports/cards locked away but everything else is great for the price point.

I love the way the villas were designed. We stayed in a two bedroom villa with a private pool. Every staff member was courteous and eager to assist you. Free airport transportation was a plus. Breakfast was delicious. The food was so good that we ate at the restaurant each night. I gave 4 stars for the location only because it was in a residential area. But this is not too bad as you can walk into town or beach within 20 minutes. Mahagiri Villas also provides free shuttle service within Sanur. If you want to go out further or explore other areas, private car service is available for a reasonable fee. Mahagiri Villas provides louge chairs with umbrella at Sanur Beach at no cost. Bicycles are available as well. If you book this hotel, you wont be disappointed!

Ari Putri Hotel is located quiet end of Sanur. The hotel grounds are beautifully decorated with massive stone carvings and lush plants, which gives a very traditional and authentic feeling of Balinese arts and culture. During our holidays, we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room was big and airy. The location of this hotel in Sanur was easy to find and within walking distance of good restaurants, shopping and the beach. We found all the staff were very friendly and ready to help. The breakfast was a good quality with a varied selection of different foods. The restaurant food in the evening and by the pool was excellent quality and very good value for money. The air con worked well and was not noisy - everything in our room worked well. We were very very happy with this lovely hotel in Sanur. During our stay we met the owner of the hotel Mrs. Agung Mas Partini who always ready to help all her guests with a big smile...she is very sweet too. Our special thanks to 2 other front office staffs Mr. Ngurah Darma and Ms. Made Indari. Overall our experience at this hotel was very and we recommend this hotel to others.

Very nice small beautiful hotel of only 6 rooms. Very private. Very well located in Sanur, directly in front of the beach. There is a direct access to the beach. The beach in front of the hotel is OK but there are no facilities. Better walk a few minutes where you can fin sun-chairs and other facilities. Large garden and beautiful swimming pool. It is mentioned that there is a "fitness center" but it is very limited. All rooms very well appointed with very large bathrooms. Very clean One villa has sea view and rooms are larger (note that the sea can be viewed only from the 1st floor room) but in terms of value for money, we preferred the normal room around the pool. Very good breakfast. There is a restaurant with good food and reasonable prices but it was only opened for lunch and not for dinner. However several restaurants around. Finally, efficient and nice staff We had a very good stay in this hotel
