Lovely Backpackers Hostel”
Place was a little tough to find as it was tucked away in a lane way off Pham Ngu Lao Street. Good sense of being in Saigon for the third time helped me find the hostel. As mentioned, in a very quiet and little alley just off the wet market, Cho Bin Thai if I'm not wrong. Still pretty near to Bui Vien and if you're adventurous like me, walking distance to Ben Thanh, Reunification Palace, Army Museum and the like. Overall, a decent place with adequate facilities. Receptionist was friendly and bubbly. Speaks very good English. Room was clean. Bathroom and all in fantastic condition. Has a small lobby with a pool table and soothing mix of K-pop and Top 40 music playing in the background every morning for breakfast. The little pantry at the ground floor will be my only drawback. A little untidy and squeeze for my liking. But for the price I'm paying and with it being a family-run establishment, pretty much worth your buck. Able to book buses to Muine and Phnom Penh. Uses Thanh Banh for local buses and Capitol Tours to Cambodia. Knowledgeable and friendly receptionist as said earlier. Wi-if is intermittent and not really accessible from the rooms though! Highly recommended, definitely.

Good Value for Money”
I traveled to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) by myself and stayed in Saigon Backpackers Hostel for 3 nights. It was a good stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I even got an offer from the hostel staff for a Cu Chi Tunnel and Cao Dai Temple full one day tour for USD 10 (and I took the opportunity, obviously). I rented the female dorm room. The room was clean, a key for locker in my room was available without extra charge so i didn't have to use my own padlock, the bathroom was shared but clean and had hot water (whoop whoop), breakfast choices were limited but still good nonetheless, easy access to airport (choices are: you can call a cab from the hostel or walk 10 minutes to bus station in Bahn Tahn market), easy access to main attractions in Saigon (I walked to the Opera House, Cathedral, War Remnant Museums), and located inside an alley which was good for me because it was quiet at night and I needed my rest after long walks during the day. Good value for money!

Comfortable & relaxing stay and budget friendly!”
Our stay there was relaxing and comfortable after a very tiring tour or long hours of walking around the city! For an affordable price, you get little luxuries like free wifi, cable tv, hair blower and you get to rest in a big bed. The room for two that we booked has a bed that can fit in four people. That means we can sleep whatever way we want! Comfort for such a steal. And the fact that it is in District 1 means the city centre landmarks can be reached just by walking. We saved a lot of money by not taking a taxi and just roaming around. Thus, more money for shopping. The staff are kind and helpful, and would arrange tours for you as well for an affordable price. I would definitely stay again at Saigon Backpackers when I come back to Ho Chi Minh.Thanks again!

Clean comfortable rooms”
When we arrived, the receptionist said that they did not have the rooms we booked (and paid!) for - a four-bed dorm. So they moved us to an eight-bed dorm. Otherwise, they would move us to four-bed mixed dorms. My group did not make a fuss about it, but in effect the hostel did not deliver what we paid for. That said, this was the cleanest hostel my group of 4 stayed in during our ten-day trip to Vietnam. Clean dorm rooms, big comfy single beds. It was very comfortable. It is far down Pham Ngu Lao (the backpackers street) so it takes a little walking but still bearable. The above receptionist was a little cold and intimidating though other employees of the hostel were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite nicely prepared - mine was a baguette with vegetables and a fried egg. They also give a free drink and banana.

Basic hotel with friendly service ”
This backpacker hostel is centrally located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon). It represents great value at $8/night in the dorm, with a friendly staff. We met a number of travelers who helped us get started on our trip.

Good location and extremely clean hostel”
The hostel is located on the backpackers street but looks like one of the best from the outside. The staff are really helpful and can sort out trip bookings but don't pressure you. There's a good communal area downstairs with PS2, satellite TV and a pool table. Then a small dining room for breakfast, which is really good, although go for the sandwich instead of the instant noodles! Rooms are clean and beds are really comfy, they provide lockers with working locks as well. Really impressed with the hotel and the staff, would definitely recommend! Be careful with your belongings around Hoc Chi Minh though, we heard of people who had bags stolen by passing mopeds. The staff were very helpful

Good and worth it.”
I have experienced backpacking in other countries, but I think among the Asian countries that I visited, Saigon Backpackers Hostel was on my top list. Their beds where huge, they provide blankets and towels and also a secure locker for your valuables. The staff are friendly and they speak English well. What I also like about this hostel is that, though you are required to check-out before 12NN, they still facilitate free storage or baggage area that allows their guests to leave their things even after check out. They also offer free shower to those guests who already checked out. They also have other facilities like TV area, DVD, free internet, etc.

I ended up staying at both Pham Ngu Lao and Bui Vien branch because there was a mistake with my booking - I cancelled my initial dorm booking and upgraded to a private double room, but the manager cancelled both my bookings instead. Both rooms are clean and staff are friendly but Pham Ngu Lao is more spacious and definitely more comfortable bed! The bed in Bui Vien is quite hard. If you're staying at Pham Ngu Lao, request for a higher floor. I was on the first floor and you get a fair bit of noise from the kitchen which is just right downstairs. Other than that, overall is a good stay.

The stuff are so nice!”
I had a three night experience stayed in Saigon Backpacker hostel. The stuff here is really nice and friendly, especially the girl work in the afternoon time, she can speak great English and really helpful to all the guests. The other thing I found disappointed about the hostel is that their aircon is not working in the public area, hope the owner can fix it soon. Overall, clean bed, nice stuff, a great experience stay in here.

Good accommodation great location”
I nice little backpackers close to the heart of Saigon! Tucked away down a little alley you don't have to hear the beeping from passing bikes. There is a fresh food market at the end of the alley where you can get great food at an even better price, the kitchen at the hostel is good for cooking. The staff are friendly and helpful and will help with tours and airport transferes at good prices. It is definitely a good place for backpackers to stay.

Also, this is great place where you can get a lot of information around in Ho Chi Minh city because you can see travel agency anywhere. they all speak english very well.I feft really warm when I came here. Friendly Reception and Clean Room”
The receptionist were very helpful and friendly. The room is also value for money. The room is clean and new. However, you have to walk a distance from the main road (Pham Ngu Lao) before you can find the hotel. There is a nice sofa with TV and pool table at the lobby area.

Staff is Great”
It was good. Beds looks new and the bathroom is clean. I like how they painted informational things about Ho Chi Minh around the hostel. The staff, My, is very accommodating. The hostel doesn't have a mailing service but she said she can get our postcards mailed herself when she goes off from work. The hostel is near a small market so there are a lot of food stalls near it.

My home”
I really had a good time in this hostel. All the staff were gentle and polite. My room was clean and comfortable. The internet was fast and their breakfast included was excellent for the bargain. They have a kitchen available with refrigerator. They’re well-located. I strongly recommend this hostel for all of those who are looking for an excellent accommodation with affordable price like me before going there. If someday I come back to Saigon, there will be my address.

Good value for money, location and clean”
We had a great stay in this hostel. Its near the city center. 15mins walk to behn tahn market 20min walk to city hall. Its near the bui vien st where all the sidestreet drinking and clubbong happens. Very nice hostel and very cheap too. Very helpful staff, they let us stay at the hotel lobby even we're checked out already. We even watched a movie, play billards and they let us use the shower. Well recomended for backpackers.
