Sabang hotels & places to stay

Location: Conveniently located a few steps away from the Sabang Beach ferry port. Rooms: Rooms are clean and spacious. Their ocean view rooms are superb. We were lucky enough to get the Deluxe ocean view room, and it was exactly how it was described. Sitting on top of the roof deck, we had the marvelous view of the whole Sabang Beach area from our viewing deck. Amenities: Their decent sized pool is perfect for cooling down after spending the whole day at the beach. Staffs are friendly and very easy to communicate with. They even helped us negotiate for the motor banka for our beach hopping and snokelling activities and for the motorbike we used for touring around. One of the best Hotels in Sabang, highly recommended :)

Before we checked in last Nov. 13, 2017, I asked Ms. Shirley of the reception if we could have an early check in because we will arrive at Sabang at around 8 AM, and since there were guests in the room we will stay at, they said they couldn't assure the early check in but they allowed us to leave our things and accommodated us as soon as we arrived at the resort so we can proceed to our activities for the day. Overall, the staff are super nice and the room we booked had a wonderful view of Sabang Beach. This place is also near restaurants and bars around Sabang. A much recommended place! A huge thank you to Ms. Shirley for being so kind to us!

Lalaguna Villas is a really nice hotel on Sabang beach! It has great food at the restaurant, many amenities (nice swimming pool, ping pong table, pool table, and jacuzzi), and excellent staff! However, there is a disadvantage for staying at most hotels on Sabang and that is that there is no access for vehicles to park directly at the hotels. You will have to park in one of the two public parking areas near Sabang and then call the hotel to arrange for transport to the hotel. If it is during the day, the hotel will send their boat to pick you up and bring you to the hotel. But at nighttime (after 5 pm), the hotel will send some staff to help you with your bags and you will have to walk to the hotel (15 to 20 minutes). Also, since the hotel is built on the side of a hill, there are a lot of stairs to climb if you stay on the upper floors. There is an elevator but you have to climb up the stairs to the 3rd floor before you can use it. There is also a small gym but it needs more equipment.

The Mermaid Resort was the perfect choice for a place to stay in the Sabang Beach area. It is only a 5 minute walk to the main beach area which is where the restaurants and bars are located but far away so you don't hear the loud music and noise.The room was adequate and the balcony was nice for a bit of a rest. The beach area in Sabang is not a beach for sunbathing because it is covered by with dive boats. There are many dive companies on Sabang beach. We dove at Mermaid Dive shop which is part of the hotel and it was very nice. The dive guide, Junor, was very good and knew each dive spot well. Saw so many dive boats going out with max divers; so many so that it would be hard to move in the boat. Not the case with Mermaid Dive, most of the dives it was just me and Junor and most divers was 4 on one occassion. Highly recommend this dive company and hotel as well. If you want a nice beach, go to White beach but be aware that it is about 20-30 minutes away by trike.

When I saw the resort when we arrived in Sabang, I was stunned how it stand out among the other buildings with its castle-like structure. You can see it from the beach when you arrive to Sabang via Ferry. The resort is just a few minutes walk from the port. Entering our room, the Kingsuite, I was at awe on how big the room was. The curtained bed is fit for royalty! Every corner and details are intricately designed and well-thought of. They provided us with basic things like slippers, small towels, face towels, toiletries and even an umbrella. There's an electric kettle too for our morning coffee. The bathroom is huge! There's basically 3 parts of the bathroom, the shower area, sink & toilet, and the bathtub. The bathtub is gorgeous. Unfortunately, we weren't able to use the bathtub in our 2 nights of stay there. It is not indicated here in Agoda that there is an additional fee for the use of bathtub. But they've put a memo on the wall informing the guests that a small fee of P500 is needed to use the bathtub. We understood why we need to pay for this facility since freshwater is a scarce resource in the area and electricity for heating the water can be expensive. And we are so willing to pay for this since it is so worth it. The fee includes whole day use, bubble bath and scented candles. But when we are about to pay for the bathtub, they informed us that they still need to ask for an approval from the owner and it will depend on the current water supply. At first, I was informed that it was already approved. But after some minutes when I went down to the reception to pay and get the valves for the bathtub, they've reversed the decision since the water supply went down :( It could have been so nice to have experienced this. The resort also provides free WiFi access to guests but unfortunately the signal is weak inside our room and according to a staff they were having network problems at that time that is why the internet was slow. I was very pleased by my stay at the Montani Beach Resort. It's a relatively new hotel on Sabang Beach, and I was very impressed. The room was super clean and with very new furnishings; the bathroom was probably the best one I've seen in Sabang (amazing rain shower with bricked tile on the walls). We had a balcony overlooking the pool and the beach, and it was just great. The power issue is also very important, especially in the summer. Montani has a huge forest of solar panels on its roof, making it energy self-sufficient. When we were in Sabang there were rolling blackouts almost every day; except where we were staying! While the power would flicker on and off for a moment, we always had power (meaning cable TV and air conditioning!!) in our room. The only slight issue was that the TV was hooked up to some kind of UPS system to prevent it from shorting out during all the power changes, so it always took a good 3-4 minutes to turn on after a power surge, but once we figured it out it was fine. The best part of the hotel was definitely the staff. During our entire 4 day stay (we extended an extra day), the staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleased to see us. Much better than most hotels catering to tourists in the Philippines. We will definitely return to Montani Beach Resort when we return to Sabang.

Location: Sabang is not as loud as the White Beach which has a lot of happenings at night. But it's better to swim at the White Beach. It has water activities such as banana boat, flying fish, jetski. Sabang on the other hand is more serene and relaxing. Scuba Diving is what the area boasts! For us, it's the perfect location for staycation specially that we have a wonderful suite at Papa Freds. *If you know how to ride a motorcycle, just rent one so you can go to the White Beach and at other areas of Puerto Galera. You can save so much with this! Room: Cleanliness could have been improved specially at the veranda area. But nevertheless, the room is big spacious and spacious! It actually exceeded our expectation. The interior is awesome! When we arrived, the Jacuzzi wasn't working so we have to report it. After an hour it was already fixed. Then here comes darkness, Jacuzzi under the stars with a glass of wine... What more can I ask for? Customer Service The manager at the check in counter was really nice and accommodating. It's such an easy check in process. She also helped us rent a motorcycle. Kuya, who fixed the Jacuzzi was also very nice and friendly. There's just this housekeeper who's like always irritated when she answers a question. Happened twice! I'm like, chill girl I'm just asking! Haha. And I can hear her talk as if the guest was not listening. I just don't want negativity so I let it pass. All in all we're so happy with our stay. And we'll for sure go back to runaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. My IG post have attracted a lot of my friends to visit the place and I'll for sure recommend it!

This is a safe and good choice for international travellers. Although some rooms in resorts in the Philippines will be dusty or too old, the rooms at Oriental Sabang are not. The rooms are also pretty large, with room for queen size bed area, a refrigerator and TV area, and nicely separate bathroom. Lots of TV channels and no problems at all with reception or picture. Internet worked fine, mainly WIFI in restaurant area. Appears that all rooms look out to the sea, with a great view of Sabang Bay, as did ours. It really is quite beautiful and peaceful. The design of this place is wonderful, and beautiful. Three rooms on each terrace level, all with patios, and on the lowest floor is a very nice pool area, and restaurant area. The restaurant area is done in nice wood, and the pool is very clean. Our food was very good, esp the omelettes, which were very affordable!! Staff is a very strong aspect here also. While some people complain about resorts in the Philippines having no one around, this place is the opposite of that. There are always a few people around, either restaurant staff, or hotel desk staff, or housekeeping. They are generally busy all day, but they attend to your need immediately. The location is also very nice because it is not in the center of town but set off to the side somewhat. As a result, it is perfectly quiet in that area. Overall, a very strong place, with good, safe food, nice decor, a beautiful, clean pool, and very good staff, who are very ready to help their customers.

Upon arrival we were greeted with the staff singing to us, smiling and presenting us with a lovely handmade shell necklace and refreshing drink. Our room was very traditional style, all bamboo, running water but cold only, however due to heat this was fine. Room had fan only however I think you can book a/c. The resort concentrates on minimum impact to the island which we loved the idea of. All guests are allocated a service family which come to help you upon ringing of a bell. The staff were very relaxed, friendly and english was great. The main pool area was very family friendly however if you wanted to escape childrens play a silent pool was offered up the hill. Drinks avail poolside at each. As we are divers we were stoked to have a dive centre onsite with awesome dive masters and a variety of dive sites 5-10mins. A visit to nearby Sabang made us glad we had chosen to stay at Coco Beach as Sabang was busy with hagglers and we heard other travellers saying it was loud at night with no rest. We would return to Coco Beach!

When we arrived in Sabang, had to ask directions going to the hotel since it was deeper into the island but it really is a 3 minute walk. When we arrived at the resort (the reception is on the 3rd floor,) we were given two complimentary ice cold water bottles. Since we arrived early, we were given a room (family?) to stay while waiting for the other room (standard) to be cleaned. When we transferred, I first noticed that the room was SO BIG. You have the typical big bed a sofa, it has a cabinet where you can put your clothes and a safety deposit box to store your valuables and it also has a balcony with a table and two chairs if you want to smoke. What amazed me was there was a HOT & COLD SHOWER. I didn't expect to have that at all! The rooftop has a mini bar, a pool (yup!) and some tables and chairs where you can see a view of Sabang. The staff were very polite, very professional and very heartwarming. I was just a tid disappointed that we were only able to stay for one night because Puerto Galera/Sabang has a lot in store for us! If we were to go back here, this would be the place to stay. Thank you!

It was priced almost the same as the other hotels in Sabang but this was, by far, the most worth it. It can be considered pricey by some but we were more than satisfied after staying at another resort 2 weeks prior. It is located far enough from the dirty Sabang pier and the little boat dock transforms into a charming bar at night. The food is pricey, but some of the dishes were good for two (like the porkchop). Brekky dish was a little lacking like the bacon. The pieces were few and dismal. The room was adequate and acceptable but at least we didnt have to lug our stuff up 3 flights of stairs. Bathroom is also adequate and acceptable. Rooms were clean enough but not exactly spotless. When you are beachside, I dont think that's possible with all the sand everywhere. Staff were nice enough and curteous. Restaurant was spacious and beachfront, very charming. Pool was usually used by divers, but we weren't interested in swimming in the pool anyway. All in all satisfied and would definitely make this my go-to home when in Sabang. Oh, will try the massage service next time.

We've been to Sabang and PG many times and stayed in most of the hotels at the mid & upper end of the market. Monkey Beach is definitely our new favorite hotel. The staff are outstanding, best service, nothing is too much trouble. 10/10 thankyou for making our stay so comfortable. Don't know why it's called a Dive Resort... There is no Dive Shop here or any instructors. Don't let the location put you off - no, it's not on the beach in Sabang or Small La Laguna, but there is a free car shuttle service into Sabang every day, or you can jump on the back of a motorbike for 40pesos. We stayed 2 times in November & December, in Villa 5 and Villa 6. Both are excellent rooms with very comfortable beds, fine linen, big TV (with Apple TV and lots of movies), very fast internet (was over 35MB most of the time, the best we've encountered in the area). Beautiful views. We stayed over a week and ate at the hotel most breakfast & dinners, the menu is varied and excellent quality.

I had visited Jack Daniels Apartments over a year ago and it was good then. With the update of WiFi in the rooms and safeboxes in each room the owner has clearly listened to people’s comments. We chose the apartment and couldn’t fault it at all. kitchen, dinning room and shower / toilet downstairs. With the main bedroom, another toilet and veranda. Location was 5 mins from the Sabang ferry port and many restaurants were within walking distance. However they have a pool food / restaurant area within the complex which serves great food. A big thank you to the owner Johan and the helpful Josie, we will be back.

I've stayed at this resort several times now and have stayed in several different rooms. I’ll attempt to give a thorough review on this resort in hopes that it will help future travelers make an informative decision. Sabang Inn is nice if you want to find an affordable room with a professional/polite staff. I could be mistaken but I believe all the rooms have air conditioning. Location: In my personal opinion, I believe that this resort is at one of the best places on the island. The resort is right along the small beach making it easy to get wet and go for a light swim or enjoy a tan on the sand. I didn’t do either as I spent the majority of my time scuba diving. 1st Floor/ Room #3: Room is convenient because it is next to their pool and the entrance way to the resort. The room was very spacious and clean. The room has air conditioning, fan, bed, massage station, CRT TV, coffee table, and drawers for clothes. You do not have to worry about too much noise as the lobby area at the front of the resort is usually pretty quiet. 2nd Floor/ Room #4 and #6: The rooms on the 2nd floor seem to be slightly bigger than the rooms on the first floor. The biggest differences in my opinion are that the water pressure is a little weaker and the rooms on the 2nd floor generally have a small kitchen with plates and a gas stove. I ate out the entire time I stayed there, so these things did not matter to me. 3rd Floor/ Room #12: This was my favorite room and the room that I stayed in for my last trip. I liked this room because everything was renovated and the furniture was more modern. It had a great view because it was so high up. The only con that I can say about this room is the walk going up to it. If you’re okay with the walk, this is probably not a bad bet. This room was probably the most expensive as well. Off the top of my head, I cannot remember how much I paid per night.

we came there and had booked 2deluxe rooms from agoda. We had booked them same day and apparently there where no free rooms except 1 suite. But the manager quickly arranged and put us in there. It had 2 bedrooms, 2 toiletts and a big living room which actually was perfect for us. The place usually cater for korean divers/tourists but as nothing is further away than 5-10min walk in sabang there is no issues at all. We didnt join the korean teams but instead went to sabang fun divers, a newly opened center nearby that we can strongly recommend. As the resort mainly cater korean the food is such as well as they have korean alchol in the bar.

Had a wonderful stay at Bellevue Cottages. It is quite near Sabang Port. Once you reach the property, the walk up the stairs is all worth it. The cottages/rooms are beautiful and has a great view of the beach. The rooms are well kept and clean. Wifi was good. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. There were a few cute cats around the property as well. I would recommend this place and would love to go back in the future. Thank you, Bellevue Cottages!

Situated in Sabang, El Galleon Dive Resort is definitely one of the best dive resorts in the area - and there is certainly no shortage of 'resorts' on offer . The dive operation of Asia Divers is very well run, had good equipment, storage and clean up areas and even a hot shower and clean towels. This resort was the only dive operation that has its own wharf making getting in and out of boats easier. Dive guides are very good and diving is very conveniently organised. Five daily dives (including a night dive), usually within 15 minutes of the hotel pier. We saw the black banded sea snake, a white tip reef shark, a hawksbill turtle, and tons of fish in all colors during our dives. The rooms at El Galleon Annex are modern, clean, quiet and a 5-10 minutes walk away from the main building. During our visit the WIFI was a bit spotty, but could mostly be used from our room also. Centre of the village at walking distance for entertainment, shopping or dining out. Only downside of the location are the beaches around which were not that nice for swimming. The selection of food on the menu was amazing and every dish we had was delicious. In fact during our 5 day stay we didn't bother much to eat anywhere else it was that good. The Point Bar has yummy cocktails and a good happy hour. Their key to success is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff at the reception and also the dive operation! They are just lovely and always helpful. We altough tried the a small spa facility, with on-site therapeutic massage, which was quie relaxing after a long diving day.

My 2 day stay at this fabulous resort was extremely relaxing. Its interior and its grounds were calm and peaceful, the room assigned to us was functional but clean and well maintained, and the resort staff were extremely kind but not exceedingly intrusive. My 2 day stay was blessed by exceptionally good weather (it only rained sporadically during the evenings) and the sea was extremely calm and the current almost non-existent - this made free dining, snorkeling, and kayaking off the coast most enjoyable. Even though the resort is only 20 minutes walk away from the frenzied nightlife of downtown Sabang, it's secluded location guaranteed that we would be afforded the best of both worlds - the bars and wild partying that Sabang is notorious for and the serenity and quiet of our very own private beach hideaway. What more can anyone ask for?

The guys from dreamhill condos are super nice and helpful. If you want you can book diving trips with them. The place is superb, as you get a great view on Sabang and the beach. Sunsets up there are extremely beautiful. At the same time, the hotel is a bit remote so you are not exposed the same level of noise from pubs and motorcycles compared to a stay right within the village. When you go out in Sabang and need to go back to Dream Hill Condos, just get a ride on a motorbike for a couple of pesos and in three minutes you are back at your room up the hill with a beautiful view.

I have stayed in Sabang on a number of occasions, but this is the first time at Villa Sabang. I was on a limited budget so I chose Villa Sabang because it supplied rooms with a kitchen and within my price range. The room was large and contained an AC, fan and a basic kitchen and refrigerator. Getting to the room involved climbing 75 steps (yes, I counted them!). This I decided was good exercise, peaceful, kept the annoying vendors away and my particular room had a lovely view across the bay from the balcony where I spent a lot of time relaxing. I was particularly pleased with the efforts of the staff. They were always obliging and went out of their way to help make the stay pleasant and enjoyable. The one downside was the poor internet speed which unfortunately is prevalent across Sabang. Otherwise, I had an enjoyable and relaxing stay at a good price, which is exactly what I wanted.
