I read a lot of comments about the location . For me is the location absolutely a plus . Yogya centre can be very crowded. Then it is nice that u after a day of driving around Yogya to come home I a very serene quite environment . And it takes only a 15 minutes taxi ride to the centre. Besides of that Rumah Mertua is a top hotel . Coffee and tea is being served all day for free. What a service. Staff is very friendly and the rooms are very clean. The food is very good and everybody speaks good English. They also have fast Internet . So what more do u want ? This is the place to be if u are looking for a hotel in Yogya. Thank you to make our stay in Yogyakarta so extremely pleasant .

I enjoyed it very much my stay in Rumah Mertua. Try the bike tour from Borobudur to Yogya. It is a bike tour from about 40 km. It is a bit hard, but it is worth it. It is like you make a tour through the real Indonesia. I had a good English speaking guide with me. The service is also fantastic. You really feel at home. Wish I stayed much longer in this hotel I wanted to extend, but they were already fully booked. It seems that Rumah Mertua is often fully booked,. So be in time to book for this nice hotel. Another good thing is that there internet connection is very fast for Indonesian standards. The hotel is also very cheap for what they offer.

Our stay in Yogyakarta and in hotel Rumah Mertua was in one word amazing. There are soo many cultural things you can see in Yogya, you really have to spend some time here. This small hotel with a beautiful lush garden and swimming pool, gives you really nice holiday feeling. We love the real Indonesian style of this place. They also have their own SPA, I really enjoyed my 3 hours massage It is a bit away from the centre, but we loved the quiet surrounding and with a cab it takes you only 10 minuts to get there. We really recommend this place!

I read a lot about the location of Rumah Mertua.For me it was just the perfect location. It is by taxi 15 minutes from the city. It is just nice to come "home" after a long day traveling in a quite,friendly place. If I would have chosen a hotel in the city center ,I have always noise around me.It is just nice to stay here.Here I feel that i stay that I stay with am Indonesian family instead of of a big hotel in the city center.Staff is extremely friendly. They feel like family.Everything is good about Rumah Mertua. There is not a better hotel I would stay in Yogya.Besides that the prices of the rooms of very reasonable.

Top hotel with very attentive staff who spoke all good English . Clean rooms and excellent Indonesian food. Try the massage. After a day of touring around Yogyakarta it is nice to have a nice massage. They also organize bike trips to prambanan and Borobudur. They also have a nice swimming pool and a beautifull tropical garden. Rumah Mertua thank you for the fantastic time in Yogya.

If you want an Indonesian ambiance Rumah Mertua is the place to stay. Everything feels like you are in Indonesia.Staff are very friendly. Excelent Indonesian food. Tropical garden.Nice massage.etc etc Coffee and tea for free( 24 hours a day) and it is being served.Nice breakfast with every day different local snacks.You can choose from different Indonesian dishes for breakfast,pancakes or a great American breakfast. i like the relaxing atmosphere in Rumah Mertua. A little outside the city but close enough to visit all the tourist sides. So u can relax after a day of going around yogya. it feels like home. The staff are are very friendly and helpful . The serve coffee and tea are free. They really serve it and you don't have to make it yourself. Massage was also great. They also have a beautiful tropical garden with a nice swimming pool. Everything is very clean. LOVE THIS HOTEL RUMAH MERTUA

Breakfast very good, both Indonesian as well as Western breakfast. Diners are excellent. Staff speak English very well and is very helpfull. Nice atmosphere in hotel with a tempo doeloe flavour. All day coffee en tea available for free. If we go again to Yogyakarta, we certainly will stay in Rumah Mertua again.

I super enjoyed our stay at Rumah Mertua! They served good food - the complimentary breakfast was composed of appetizer, fresh fruits and your choice of main course from traditional Indonesia food like Nasi Goreng. We also tried their sampler set for dinner and it was so good too! The staff are also very friendly and accommodating to our requests. The environment of the hotel is perfect for those who want a serene, peaceful stay. They have a pool area that is open until around 9pm. Don't forget to pamper yourself in their spa which offers Javanese massage. They also offer airport transfers and car rental which will take you to the famous temples like Prambanan and Borobudur. This hotel gives you the best value for your money. Would definitely stay here when I go back to Jogja!

We really had a great time in Rumah Mertua. We immediately felt at home. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They also spoke perfectly English. But the best about this place is that everything was perfectly clean. It is not direct in the center, but with a cab you are there in 15 minutes. The hotel has his own cabs. If you want to arrange a tour or something else, everything can be arranged at the hotel. We really enjoyed the swimming pool and the romantic garden at the hotel. It is the perfect place to relax, especially when you come back from a tour. They also have their own restaurant with delicious traditional Indonesian food. So you don’t have to leave the hotel if you don’t want to.

We are happy people recommended us this hotel. Our perfectly clean and nice decorated room made us instant happy. The lush garden and romantic swimming pool made the picture complete. It is located just outside the city, but with a cab you are in 15 minutes in the city center. We arranged all our cultural trips at the hotel. They have there own drivers who speak perfectly English, so you don’t need to worry about anything. Thank you Rumah Mertua for giving us a fabulous time in Yogya! We are definitely coming back!

Perfect Getaway”
Truly enjoyed my stay at Rumah Mertua for 3 nights and I love the peaceful vibes here. We got upgraded to a deluxe room and enjoyed their room service such as 24hour complimentary coffee/tea. Breakfast was truly local and delicious, served a la carte style. (Try the beehoon goreng!) Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful as well. You can take a grabcar/taxi to Jogja city mall which is about a 5mins drive away from the hotel. That will cost about Rp13.000. Will definitely stay here again when I return to Jogja in the future.
