Where to stay in Yamanashi Prefecture
Yamanashi Prefecture hotels & accommodations
If you book the hotel, book the dinner option. Costed just a little bit more. One of the best dinner that I have eaten in Japan. Luxury and tasty. Like 10 courses. Breakfast was great with Japanese and Western food, coffee, tea, and juice. Very romantic, and very kids friendly hotel at the same time. Best location to view the lake. We rented a bike to go around. Shut...
We only stayed for a night but it was a gd experience. Right fr the pick up fr the main stnt, the driver was very friendly. There was once along the way back to the hotel, I believed he recognised 2 travellers who stayed at the hotel walking back and he actually stopped along he road to pick them up, which I thought was a nice gesture. The room wasn’t too big but com...
Very clean, newly furbished. Perfect view of mount fuji rven from the hotel Onsen facilities. We stayed in the Quadruple bedroom and it was perfect for our family of 5. breakfast & Dinner buffet was good for the price we paid, and the service was impeccable. We will definitely be returning to Mystays Yamanashi
Our experience at this hotel was one of the best in Japan. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were extremely friendly and polite. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, with a luxurious area for relaxing with a bar, free coffee etc and leather lounges to sink into to read the incredible range of beautiful books on offer and listen to the lovely piped music. Al...
First of all, this is a veggies friendly hotel, you can book your included traditional Japanese breakfast for vegetarian, ( I think they can do vegan as well, but not sure, would be better to check with the hotel) staffs in the hotel is friendly as well!! You won't find a better hotel in the area. Sure there're even better hotels with better views and better facilities but add price to the consideration and this is the best. Upon reception you get beautiful blueberry juice and pineapple chocolate cookies while you wait, the rooms are really new and spanking clean, the amenities are totally on point, the hot spring on th...
I am a cheap person so I have never spent more than $120 on a hotel room, ever! Because of this, I was very hesitant when deciding whether I wanted to book at this hotel. Even if it was the cheapest room at this hotel, it was more than twice what I am used to. However, what drew me in were the good reviews, the garden, and the three onsens. Now that I am back home af...
Most of the time, you what you see on the photos posted, you might give a pinch of salt, not forBessho Sasa. Truly a high quality hotel room. Wanted to book the Fukuchi Type A room, however it's fully book on that day. So I've booked the Mizuho room instead. The room is just slightly smaller but still extremely clean, with coffee machine, food served in the room's dini...
The jaw dropping window views and surrounding scenery at this beautiful historic facility were made even better by the wonderful staff who go above and beyond to ensure their guests have a pleasant experience during their stay. Management was always quick to greet the guests (who they care about enough to get to know) and help them find their way around the city with m...
This hotel is located within 10 to 15mins walk from the Kawaguchiko train station which is a central point to travel up to Mt Fuji. The hotel provides complimentary pick up from the train station. This was very convenient and once we arrived there were staff members taking us through to our rooms and giving us a tour around the place. Once we settled down we were left ...
Very cozy and warm. View to die for. Kawaguchiko is just a bit harder though to get to via public transport than say Hakone. Food was great. Staff were helpful but on check in did not speak the best English. When I spoke Japanese she didn’t understand me either as I discovered she was Chinese. This was a small thing, easily overcome as other staff quickly came to my ai...
When we reached Kawaguchiko station, we took the sight-seeing bus (red line-terminal 1) to bus stop no. 18 (Monkey theatre). It was great because we could plan out our activities the next day after passing by all the tourist attractions beforehand. However, from the bus stop no.18, we had to walk to the cottage which some of the road was quite hilly (we followed googl...
It was an unforgettable experience even after 1.5 years since I traveled to Japan and stayed at this hotel for just one night. I am still really grateful for the staff, who mailed my eye glasses to me at Hong Kong for free. During my stay, I carelessly left my eye glasses at the hotel, and contacted the hotel for help. I proposed that they mailed my glasses to me and I...
If you want to find a ryokan to stay near Lake Kawaguchiko, then Ohya maybe one of the best. The staff are very friendly. We also got a welcome drink and snack. The location is also very good because it is located near Lake Kawaguchiko (ask for the Lake view) and Kachi-kachi Ropeway. They also have a private onsen, which I didn't use because it was fully booked. The ho...
Definitely a Great Place to stay for a visit to Fuji Area. The hotel is modern and has nice rooms and facilities. The best part is shopping is just a 5mins walk from the hotel. And in the morning, we caught view of Fujisan thou from the side of your hotel room. And because it is located centrally, it is easy to move around. And food is definitely available either at th...
Hotel is close to Kawaguchiko Lake, one side is Mt. Fuji view & another is Lake view. Beside hotel is Kawaguchiko Herb Hall, in front of hotel is bus no.7 that able to use Red&Green Line Bus. In daytime there are many restaurants and cafes but in evening I go to Lawson that is 250 m away. In autumn this hotel is in very good location, just walk across the road and star...
The hotel is a little bit out of town, but it provides a shuttle service into the railway station and it takes only 15 min. The hotel itself is huge area but we stayed in the main block in a fantastic junir suite, as we were upgraded as I requested a non smoking room. The room itself was spacious and very comfortable and clean. The restaurant provided a buffect breaka...
We are very lucky that we had upgraded to the best room of the hotel. It was totally unexpected! We hv booked 3 ppl room with Fuji view but arranged by the staff to the suite and the highest floor when we arrived! Wow~ There are 2 levels in our suite ,4beds ,2 toilets and 1 bathroom included! The view is excellent and we can see the full view of Fuji! We woke up at 430a...
my wife and i had a great couple days here on a short honeymoon. the hotel was a short walk to hiking, paddleboating, lavender ice cream, and only a 40 minute drive to yamanashi (to the northwest)-- the wine region of japan. the hotel was a wonderful launching pad. friendly staff (expect a lot of bowing). the breakfast buffet was also very good. the tomatoes, sm...
My mum and I recently had an overnight trip to Kawaguchiko to see Mount Fuji, it was amazing! We lucked it with the weather and even with the hotel!! The booking was very last minute and it was the first Saturday of Golden Week, so I knew it would be slightly over priced. That said, for the location, and the access to two public Onsens it was worth it. It’s an old ho...
Lake Kawaguchi is about ten minutes walk from Kawaguchiko Station so all the hotels are at least a ten minute walk from station, some a lot longer. This hotel is less than 15 minutes away on foot and is in a great position by the Kachi Kachi ropeway and nearby restaurants and convenience store. The staff were very friendly and although the general decor of the place ...
I have mixed feelings about this place. It was definitely a Japanese experience and the set up of the hotel including the room was spectacular. My feelings towards the place become mixed when I think about whether it was really an experience I enjoyed and whether it was not as much as I was hoping purely because I underestimated the true authentic Japanese customs an...
It was wonderful to see fuji, san just right outside room window( we booked 2 rooms with Mt. Fuji view) very worth it. Air,con are new and quiet. Koe House is located literally in front of Kawaguchiko station (About 1 minute walk straight from exit). Furthermore, it is only a 10 minute walk to Lake Kawaguchiko. We arrived at 7.30pm and it was dark. We have no idea of the location of this hotel but was told it was within walking distance from the Kawaguchiko Station. Sure enough, after afew asking around, the hotel was on the right side of the front road from the station. Less than 10 minutes (dragging our luggage) and there to greet us was the owner himself. It was fast ...
We came to this'll tell not really knowing what to expect, but we did want a view of Mt Fuji and that's what we got. The hotel is located on top of a hill overlooking the lake and facing Mt Fuji. Everything was perfect! exactly what we expected from a Japanese ryokan near mt Fuji and more! The hotel provides free shuttle pick up from and to Kawaguchi station everyday from 2 pm to 5 pm. This is very convenient since public transportation there is quite difficult to find and it's just too cold to walk around during winter. The hotel provides free breakfast and di...
Special thanks to the front desk staff Mr. Asakura. I lost my hat on the bus to Miyama, when I ask the hotel to help. Mr. Asakura called the bus station and found it for me. Since I don't speak Japanese, He even wrote a translation note of the English and Japanese for me to go to the lost and found staff at the bus station. The is the best service I have ever received....
Cheap places to stay in Yamanashi Prefecture
The hostel is spotlessly clean and tidy. The bed linen and towels are nice and fresh. The beds are extremely soft and comfortable. The free breakfast exceeded my expectations and there is plenty of choice along with free tea and coffee throughout the day. The family who run the hostel are so kind, friendly, welcoming and hospitable. They helped me with everything...

The service staff at the hotel is very enthusiastic, you can speak English~ For the people who want to travel around Sta. Kawakuchiko, the hotel provides a bicycle, $200 each hour and $1000 each day. The bicycle helps me a lot for travel. I almost visit every famous viewpoint around the Sta. Kawakuchiko. You also can use anything in the kitchen to cook food (free) and ...
my boyfriend and i stayed at k's house for two nights. we took the chuo express bus from shinjuku station and arrived at kawaguchiko station in less than 2 hours. we used the pay phone inside and was picked up by a friendly staff member in less than 10 minutes wait. the staff all speak english and they explained everything to us in detail when we checked in. there are ...
It's a station away from Chureito pagoda. You can even walk to that spot overlooking Fujiyoshida town with Fujisan as the background. So beautiful! It's three stations away from Kawaguchiko (train fare is 300 yen one way), where most local and highway buses depart to tourist spots and other prefectures.
I had a wonderful experience in this hostel. Though it's not very close to Kofu JR Station, it's still fine to get to here on foot. It takes about 10 mins and it's easy to locate. The staff are friendly and helpful. They provide clear instruction. Besides, the open area (pantry?) is good. You can get food from supermarket and cook there in the pantry. And they provide...
The guesthouse is staffed by students at the University who are keen to build a welcoming community experience, I had some very nice conversations! The space is clean, and it was fun and comfortable to sleep on the Japanese futons.
We booked a Large Room for 4 people. The interior is unique. AFAIK, all private rooms provided an unobstructed view to Mount Fuji, including our room. Fortunately when we were there, the sky was clear. Every morning, we were greeted by the magnificent sight of Fujisan. That is probably the best parts of this hostel. The staffs were friendly and accommodating. The loca...

This was truly the best place to stay at while in my travels in Japan! The owner of the hostel was welcoming and helpful. The idea of renting bikes and cycle around the lakes was probably one of the best thins to do. The stay in the hostel was short, however it never failed to make me feel more like at home rather than a host ark with freshly baked bread in the evening...
Very friendly n nice hosts. The homestay was designed and build up by the hosts themselves with the recycle material. The homestay look amazing.
After a long day of traveling from Osaka, Fujiyoshida Youth Hostel was an wonderful place to take a much needed break. Located pretty close to the train station, this youth hostel was also really easy to find. Clear directions and signs posted on the main street. Upon arrival, the lady was so, so kind and welcoming. She gave us a tour of the hostel and made sure we had...
one of the best places i stayed in japan. the owner is a fantastic person. he was very knowledgeable about his city n was very helpful. recommended places to eat drink n party. i stayed here as i wanted to go to chureito pagoda in the morning. its a short walk to the pagoda. felt very comfortable staying here. would def stay here again if i am in the area.
If you look for culture experience, you must stay in this hotel. They offer free trial on "Japanese clothing" which you need to pay for 3000 Yen in other shops. Also, the staff are very friendly. I went for 2 Days hiking in Mountain Fuji and they allowed me to leave my luggage in the hostel, even though i am not staying there after the hike. The only thing is they...

About 200 meter from Red Line No.4 Station, just opposite Lawson. Walk-able distance to lake-side. Few restaurants around. A bit old property but room, toilet and bathroom is clean. The staff/owner doesn't speak English.
The owners, a young couple, are very kind and helpful. During my hike to Mount Fuji they let me deposit my luggage.
The owner's very friendly. Room was ventilated over area and clean as well. Best choice for solo traveller and I surely back there if visiting again. RECOMMEND ! ! * * :D
One of the best... or maybe, the best! Compared to other capsule hotels I have stayed, this one has the biggest and widest capsule dimension making our sleep really comfortable. Amenities and toiletries were very well thought of. I specifically liked the pajamas! There was also a free shuttle bus to all Highland affiliate companies including Kawaguchiko Sta. The bus ...
This is a reasonable hotel, expecially when you are a backpack traveler. You enjoy the privacy of a room with a very cheap rate. Of course, you don't expect amenities or free wifi in your room; you go down the lobby for free internet access. Around the nearby road intersection is Lawson, Yarashi-tei Yakiniku restaurant, and a sort of home-cooking style canteen. The ...
We only stayed in this hotel for 1 night in a triple room (non-smoking) at a promo price. The price is reasonable. The triple room is spacious. We initially booked the “smoking” room but made a special request for the non-smoking room. Its great that they tried their best to accomodate your special request and we are happy about it. The location is also nice its just ...
Orange Cabin Inn, is located in kawaguchiko, inside have 4 rooms, and a public hang out area. It is comfort, and clean. the staff are nice and helpful at there, although they got limitation on english, but they will try their best to communicate and help you. From their public hangout area and wash room, you can have a view of fuji mountain. During the night, is hard t...
We booked 2 small bungalows via agoda, of which the details included "hotel room features: shower, kitchenette, shared bathroom and airco". We were disappointed to see that these "bungalows" are basically small wooden cabins, unfurnished and with no heating. The camp staff will only provide you with Japanese style futons to sleep on. The toilets and showers are located...
Room space just nice
My family of 3 had a delightful stay at the resort. The resort is slightly secluded from the city which makes the stay very quiet and peaceful. After feeling refreshed from using the private onsen, we brave the cold weather to go into the garden at night and took photos of the beautiful night sky. Overall, we had a delightful stay here
this is the best hotel in kofu.. it my 3rd time check in here.,the hot spring @ onsen it the great place to hang up and relax.. just need to walk 300m from eki@ train station..| for tourist speak in english.the staff can speak english but u need to spoke slowly...the staff will provide everything u need... meal? great breakfast n free japan noodle...
A nice short stay there. The staff there are very nice. Even though they don't understand English well, they try to communicate with me and seek my opinion about their service. The location is a bit far from the train station but acceptable (~8 mins walk with luggage).
When we got to Kawaguchi station we freaked out because we read online that the front desk of the hostel was only open until 6pm, and we were afraid there was no way for us to check in! But thankfully, the hostel owner had WhatsApp and we were able to communicate with him! He was very accommodating and said he had left the key for us to get in on our own. Since the bus...
Please be sure to go to a place called “Hostel&Samurise Information” first, to check in and rent a bike. They will tell you the location of your stay (which is around there) then, give you key and password to go into a hostel. If you don’t really mind about how beautiful the room will be or onsen, I would recommend this place because it is very convenient. This hostel ...
An 8-minute drive and a 20-minute stroll from the Kofu City centre, the hotel is clean, has a 'wine' hot spring bath, free Wi-Fi, coin-operated washer and dryer, vending machines, a restaurant that opens for breakfast and dinner, and close to convenience stores and other eating joints. A 5-minute drive to Chuo Expressway, it's a good base to explore other parts of Yama...

Our stay at Motosu View Hotel was good. Pros: This place is surrounded by a nice forest and very close to Motosu Lake. I recommend coming by car for your comfort. I recommend buying some snacks and drinks in advance before arrivin...

Definitely best place ever! Hot baths were so relaxing!
This is the third onsen hotel I have the pleasure to visit and all in all that one was the best, although there were several of small things I’ve seen done or thought of better. One of my favorite parts of my entire Japan trip was walking around Lake Kawaguchiko and coming back to this cozy hotel with 4 different onsen available. I'm still dreaming about the open-air onsen and the view of Fuji from the indoor onsen. Our room (for 2 people) was not as small as I expected for a Small Double Room. Shower was quite small, but we did not end up usi...
I highly recommend Neo Oriental Resort for any one looking for a quiet / romantic holiday. The service and staff deserve the highest award in the world, too good, polite, helpful... Buffet dinner was average, the other restaurant was very good, everything else is more than excellent. My wife tried the spa / massage, she loved it.
