Wales County hotels & accommodations

First visit to Cardiff with a day at Cardiff Castle the main attraction. The hotel was easy to find. The staff were, to a man, extremely helpful and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast brilliant value for money with a delicious selection of hot and cold foods on offer. Minor niggles included the bath plug not working in one of the rooms ...

location is very easy to find after i got off from train station, just 2-3 mins walk to the hotel. i booked maldron hotel cardiff because it is also one of the best location for attending a concert at motorpoint arena. with completely hotel facilities and also free wifi throughout the whole hotel!

Ruthin is a lovely location for walking. The hotel is massive and takes a bit of getting your bearings. We were upgraded to room 116,from a smaller, double room ( bed didn't seem double!) Make a fuss and get a decent size room! If you want to eat at Berties - BOOK! We intended to have food in Library bar but were told 2 hour wait ! Recommend going to On the Hill restauran...

Had some problems checking in as they could not find my booking. Booked 3 rooms but the system only showed 1 room, but it was resolved within 15 minutes. The hotel is located near Cardiff Castle. And if you are joining a tour group, the meeting place is usually the Museum, which is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is quite busy since there's usually ...

We had a one night stay and traveled with a 3 year old , the staff were so accommodating and lovely to our our daughter, organised a z-bed, let us check in early. They were obviously busy getting ready for a large wedding that afternoon but they still took the time to chat to us and made us feel welcome. Every staff member we came across was lovely and seemed to enj...

The room was comfortable as was the bed. The only thing I can say bad about the bedding was that the pillows are very small, though there are two per person, one firm and one soft. Our room was surprisingly quiet for a city centre hotel. All the staff we met were friendly and efficient. Be aware that the car park will cost you £28 if you are staying for two nights, thi...

Arrived after 9pm to a warm welcome at reception., My room was a good size, very clean, warm and pleasant. The bed was very comfortable with nice pillows. The refreshments offered in the room were all sourced from Wales, I really enjoyed the Welsh "paned" and the delicious hot chocolate. The toiletries felt luxurious and the bathroom while a little compact, had a n...

When we eventually found the place we were pleased with the facilities. We were 1 hour trying to find it because the postcode on my booking reference was incorrect, finished up on a housing estate about 3 miles away. After driving for 5 hours this was very frustrating, not good in any way. However, the facilities we considered to be very good, all clean and tidy, ve...

It was an amazing stay in the hotel. The hotel is located next to the beach and the town. It is also very easy to get to the Great Ohm. The room is big and clean, although the design has not been modernised. The best thing about this hotel would be the price, which was very cheap, and breakfast, which was the best english breakfast I have ever had!

I stayed at Hotel One Hundred for 6 days and 5 nights. This is definitely a really lovely place which is near to Cardiff City Centre. The location is really convenient whereby there are pubs, takeaways and convenience store just right behind of the hotel. The decor in hotel is lovely and it feels just like home. Helene and the other staffs are really friendly at the ...

I really enjoyed my stay there, really nice staff,so friendly and helpful all the time with a big smile in their mouth and lovely kindness. I stayed there to stay 3 days in a 4 bed room, actually it was like a Hotel, with lcd tv and sofa inside of that, so lovely, but there are something i don't really dare with it: Wifi, completely bad in the whole place, room and co...

Although we had quite a comfortable stay at the Bryn Howel Hotel, and the setting is outstanding, one or two things were a little disappointing. On arrival, we found the bedroom door open as the catch did not work properly (although this proved useful on our second evening). Also, the bath panel was on the floor rather than on the side of the bath, but that my husb...

Stayed here for 2 nights and would definitely do so again. Hotel was a short walk (less than 10 minutes)from the International Arena where we were to see Michael McIntyre. Also near the shops and restaurants and nightlife. Whilst near all these, it was outside the main area, and so was quieter than a more central hotel would have been. We were on the side away from the...

Pros: Great location, great rooms, very friendly and approachable staff. I would definitely book again but not not pay for the breakfast. Cons: Breakfast was poor, selection of salami meats and cheese but was not replenished so if your later or someone is a little greedy your out of luck. I came down on morning and with there was only a few slices of meat left, when as...

The hotel was lovely and clean with friendly staff. Downside the shower was small and not very powerful. The bathroom door didn’t seem to fit properly. Also we booked as a couple but only one bottle of water and one teabag which we didn’t realise until we went to make a cup of tea in the morning. Beautiful big bath towels.

My girlfriend and I had already stayed elsewhere the previous night as part of my 30th birthday celebrations, we were heading home and both decided that we wanted another night away. A quick and lucky Google search showed us Peterstone Court, and we are both so glad that we found it. The hotel itself is a beautiful house with plenty of character and squeaky floorboar...

We had read a few negative reviews on this hotel but we had nothing to worry about our room was modern and lovely and warm .The public areas within the hotel could do with modernising but the bar area is tastefully decorated and friendly and the food was excellant .For the good price we paid we had great value for money and we would not hesitate booking this hotel ag...

To clarify my staff rating which I have only given two stars. This is pretty unfair I guess as the majority of the staff were lovely - friendly and helpful. However, I found the coffee staff had poor attitudes and one was particularly rude. I did wonder if she (and some of the others too) really wanted a job serving the public, she certainly hadn't got the aptitude ...

Myself and my partner avoid B&Bs like the plague usually. They're just too hit-and-miss, and we've had such awful experiences that we find it safer to just book bigger hotels and chains. However, we were on a budget last weekend so chanced 'Leonardo's'. After ringing the bell to gain entry, we were met by a lovely lady who gave us our key and explained when breakfast w...

We normally stay at a hotel not too far away from this one but as it was a last minute booking, we were unable to book a room. This one came up and we were lucky enough to be allocated a sea view room, at a very good price. The hotel was spotless, the staff friendly and although it was only a 2 star, it had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We willl definitely ...

the ground floor had just been refurbished as it had not long been taken over by new owners we spoke to the Lady owner she is very nice and very helpful along with the rest of her staff. The ground floor is the bar it's been refurbished to a very high standard it looks fabulous my girlfriend and I where we'll impressed. The upstairs is slightly out dated but hasn't bee...

We stayed for 2 days, sat to Mon. Right in the centre!! We were here when Wales played the new Zealand so Cardiff was heaving, so there was a lot of street noise which was copeable. Beds were comfortable with extra pillows and food in the hotel was tasty and reasonably priced. Your very close to clubs and bars which was very loud the Saturday night, so hotel could pro...

Arrival at about 3 pm on a Sunday - but there was no one to greet us on reception! We waited for 10 minutes then wandered through and found a member of staff who could not find anyone either and was not trained to book us in. Eventually a member of staff came back to reception and apologised for her absence. After that blip we had a speedy check in, a beautiful, spac...

This place takes hosteling to another level. Really well set up to help travellers on a budget while maintaining high levels of cleanliness. It's a place where people are genuinely being tourists - no long term drop outs hanging about. The hostel provides a wealth of information about Wales and other journey options, has places to relax, provides a great b/f and kitche...
Cheap places to stay in Wales County

I really enjoyed my stay there, really nice staff,so friendly and helpful all the time with a big smile in their mouth and lovely kindness. I stayed there to stay 3 days in a 4 bed room, actually it was like a Hotel, with lcd tv and sofa inside of that, so lovely, but there are something i don't really dare with it: Wifi, completely bad in the whole place, room and co...

I stayed in Quadruple room which was around half of the room in the picture and it was not nice like the pictures as well. However, there is little kitchen zone and minibar in the room. Another weak point of this hostel is there is only one bottom to push which is very hot water. We cannot adjust it and staff told us to use shared shower rooms that may better or wa...

Plain simple basic clean. Does what it says in providing bed for the night right at the start of Snowdon Ranger path. No fancy extras here. Dont expect anywhere to plug you phone in or lights by beds etc. This is YHA as it used to be..... not like penypass after its £1.8m investment to gentrify it... this is old school basic. Want that and you will be happy.

Although the location was not that easy to find, it offerred a very scenic view of the mountains. The clean and comfortable room was a wonderful welcome after a long drive from London. The kitchen was also well-equipped for guests to prepare their own meals. Definitely, good value for money.

The stay at the hostel was truly fantastic after a busy day on the train and organising a gratuitous amounts of work, arrived at the hostel thinking it would be the average over crowded and uncomfortable mess I have experienced in the past. I arrived and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hostel itself and indeed the staff are a marvel to be around. Being extr...

The facilities in the property are excellent, the shower rooms, toilets, and self-catering kitchen area are clean and tidy. One downside is that the room has some odd smell, probably due to wet weather, otherwise I would give 5 star for cleanliness. Location wise, it is not in a town or village, you probably need a car or bicycle to travel around to get all the neces...

We stayed at the YHA Brecon Beacons for 2 nights in The Granary and 1 night in the Beech. The staffs were very friendly and very helpful. They do their best for the customers satisfaction and could not be faulted. The kitchen, toilet and bathroom are very clean considering they are for communal use - (The Granary has its own separate bathroom and toilet). The Granary w...

Booked Treetops for a last minute weekend away for me and my 2 children (11 & 7). Was looking for accommodation without paying too much and stumbled acorss Treetops. We got it at a bargain price, 2 nights was cheaper than 1 night in a hotel! It is work in progess but i suppose thats reflected in the price. We had a double room on the top floor (green duvet pic) which ...

We booked Y Pengwern to attend a funeral in the next village,it was the only hotel in the area,it's basically a village pub owned by the village for the village which is nice. It's a cozy pub to drink in and the locals were more than friendly. The place is tired but comfortable.

Loved this room. I was in room 7.Had everything I needed.Lovely view from window , was able to sit in the chair in the window with the window open with a cup of tea watching the river. Didn’t hear a sound at night very peaceful. Bed comfy . Bathrooms were all 5 star super clean with lovely little thoughtful touchesTowels were very soft& new looking. Wi fi was great.Ver...

I had a very pleasant two nights here. The hotel is just over the river from the castle, so it's only a short walk to the stadium or city centre or Cardiff central station. My superior twin room had it's own shower, toilet and hand basin, as well as basic kitchen facilities including fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and sink. It also had two sets of crockery and cut...

from the very first moment we entered ty rosa, paul and stuart could not have been more helpful. we had large suitcases, so were given a room upgrade because of this! this place is amazing. stuart sat down with us for almost an hour, telling us all about the city and highlighting things on a map. very welcoming. the room was lovely and cleaned to spotless daily. show...

Wow what a hidden gem in the centre of Cardiff. The hotel is tucked away down an arcade in the middle of Cardiff ans is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in from the wonderfull rooms (best bathroom I have ever had) to the helpful staff. I have been trying to think of a negative for the hotel but I cant, well done Hotel Indigo see you in April.

This hotel is supposed to be a top hotel in Cardiff., Its not. It feels like at best a 3 star hotel was very unimpressed. Thankfully only stayed a night. Staff were helpful and friendly. Location is good however I would not stay again nor can I recommend it. Its way to expensive and not value for money.

Llandudno Bay Hotel is a brilliant place to stay, the staff were fantastic, the facilities and cleanliness was outstanding, just one niggle (minor one) there was no visitor guide book in our room regarding hotel rules, otherwise one word excellent

All pros & no cons!!! Lovely setting, atmospheric traditional building with beautiful rooms. Fantastic 5 star food and caring, excellent staff that go the extra mile to make you feel at home. We originally booked for 2 nights, but enjoyed it so much extended for another night. Had to leave for a prearranged booking in Bath, but wanted to return for the last 3 nights of...

considering that the "star rating" system is a complete pack of lies in england (i.e. a 3 star in the usa gets 4 stars in england; a 3 star in england would only be a 2 star in the usa -- this is the norm for england, everywhere), we were very pleasantly surprised to find that when we stepped into wales the usual lies stopped - at least at this hotel. it was marked as...

This was an old fashioned hotel, not just that the property is over 300 years old but in the way service was delivered. The staff were very pleasant the room very quiet and the gardens beautiful. We were not expecting blankets on the bed nor the number of changes in levels (single step) that we had in our cottage. Step into small kitchen, step into bedroom, step back f...

We had a room in Tŷ Dre which is around the corner from the Black Boy. We checked in at the Black Boy and the staff were helpful and efficient. The room was fresh and absolutely, spotlessly clean. The bathroom had a double shower and big free-standing bath and good quality toiletries. The room itself was spacious and well laid out with the biggest television I have ev...

Great location Excellent service. The owners Phil and Jeanette were very welcoming, it felt like we had known them for years. They provided lots of information about the local area, and sight seeing spots. Amazing breakfast.... you could choose exactly what you wanted, and eat as much as you wanted!! The Roman Room provided the ‘wow factor’ as soon as you walked in. ...

A cosy night away in winter is made all the more enjoyable at the Castle, with comfortable rooms and excellent choice of food and drinks, all served with a smile. On this occasion we decided to eat in the "bar" - which was far from basic with a fab menu! The restaurant has been updated and is modern but offers well placed tables to give privacy to diners. Breakfa...

The hotel is excellent small, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The only negative was the dessert menu at dinner. Too many 'inventive' but not appetising desserts. One of my party had the chocolate with the beetroot chips and was not impressed. Even if there was one "normal" choice like a pannacotta or a crème brulee that would be good and don't get me started on ...

as you would expect this hotel offered great value for money, from the size and quality of the rooms,to the breakfast, and needless to say the service. the hotel is well located for visiting such cities as bristol and cardiff;as well as seeing some wonderful scenic countryside, notably the wye valley.infact the hotel gardens themselves are well worth having a walk arou...

We stayed here for two days while attending a local education show. It was the hottest few days of the year, and the staff went above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable by providing ice for the room cooler and an extra fan. We ate in the restaurant on our second evening - we were not disappointed! Stunning food, fresh and beautifully presented - I had a 'me...

The Celtic Manor Resort is exceptional!! The Sixth Floor Signature Suits are superb. Large rooms with Sofas and Armchairs, super king size bed, enormous marble bathroom with a separate bath and shower area. Complimentary bottle of wine in the room with chocolates, and a further free glass of Proseco in the main bar, Steak at Six. The customer service is first class....

I was in the old sea front area of the hotel so cannot comment on the new facility at the rear. The rooms were well "quaint" is the best description I can think of, not large but adequate. The location is amazing. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. I didn't eat dinner there but the restaurant and menu looked great. Mumbles is a village close to Swansea wi...

We really enjoyed our stay, our welcome was fab, even had a cheeky upgrade an our room was lush, so clean an we had everything we needed! The bed was so comfortable! Breakfast the next morning was also of very high standard!! We look forward to our next trip up to Llandudno to stay there again!! Would recommend this hotel to anyone!!

We were warmly welcomed on arrival and made to feel at ease! The mansion was newly renovated and very clean and quite modern. Our bedroom was beautiful with a super king size bed which was very comfortable a very clean modern bathroom with a shower that did every thing but make the tea! The food was fantastic and if you wanted something slightly off menu, they would...

While the Slebech Park may not have a swimming pool or a gym it has everything else for a quiet weekend away. First class food, good quality rooms and a location to die for. Why do th rooms not have number...
