South East, England hotels & accommodations

We stayed at My Hotel this weekend and had a lovely time. Set in the centre of Brighton's quirky lanes, My Hotel is modern and comfortable with futuristic decor and bohemian art work. On arrival we were greeted by a helpful porter who assisted us with our luggage. The reception staff were polite and but could have been a little friendlier for perfect customer service....

Accommodation was under repair and decoration whilst I was there so it did not look it’s best. That said the room was freshly decorated and had a nice new bathroom. For me the staff at this hotel were all so friendly and helpful, even the night porters, being more engaging than they had to be. The breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked to order and very pleasant di...

We have stayed at the queens numerous times and this time we took our 5 year old daughter who was very impressed. Every time we have stayed we have been more than happy with our rooms, I have searched through almost all of the hotels in Brighton and I can honestly say the queens is hard to beat. The 3 star rating is not good enough for this little gem. We can't wait to...

Extremely pleasant. Quick check,in and free upgrade to premier room with large balcony. Awesome views of the beach and South coast. A very comfortable and clean room if a little dated. Hearty breakfast buffet in the morning with good selection. Overall incredible value for money and wouldn't think twice about coming back.

The hotel is new and located near several restaurants. There are plenty of parking spaces and the WiFi connection is good. It is excellent for travellers on a road trip. Drive to Oxford city centre is easy even on a weekday. Breakfast is good by European standard.(For Asian travellers, the variety can not be compared to those available in hotels in South East Asia. We ...

Lovely upperclass hotel, comfy beds great service, first stay was a city room which was lovely, second stay a seaview which was lovely but unfortunately very noisy due to the main road and clubs near by,would stay in the city room if we went back,no mini fridge which was a shame, still one of the best small hotels we have stayed in.

As mentioned, this was a study hotel so there were many students walking in and out but it was very impressive. The rooms were big, comfortable, clean and at a pretty good location. Parking was hard to find, but that's not a big issue. The staff were very friendly, they try their best to answer our questions about parking matters and places to go in Brighton. Overall...

We stayed there for just one night, on my way back of a job in south london. Spent a night and a day in Brighton and drove back to Belgium in the evening. Nice little town, not so far from Folkestone/Eurotunnel. Lots of youths in town, good vibes. Very well situated hotel. Car park was not free, and should be.

Booked this last minute. Had read the reviews some good some bad. We had a lovely sea-view room, breakfast was good and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Yes its a little bit dated in parts but you can see there is ongoing work there. All I can say to the bad reviewers is if you want 5 star pay for it......

Being told because i did not book direct with hotel i must pay for car parking with add ons its not value for money paying your company a small under price reduction because it works out more expensive for customers you should let people no the true facts before they book to stop them being shocked by car parking price and extras for breakfast. Would you book this offe...

The hotel is located next to a service station along the M40 motorway. It is a cheap alternative to the hotels in central Oxford for drivers. There is free parking in front of the hotel. There is a flight of stairs between the car park and the hotel entrance. There is also a ramp but it requires a longer walk. There are 2 floors and no lift. Free wifi is available afte...

If I had paid full price for this family room I would be annoyed, it was clean but very basic the bathroom decor all peeling off and looks grim. I accept this because I only paid 66.00 for the one night. Reception staff were friendly and informative. But breakfast staff were not welcoming, we came into the room for breakfast, we wasn't greeted with good morning or anyt...

Drove here via highway after paying hefty GBP4.00 hourly car park in Oxford city after late check in and 2-hr free Oxford city tour to much regret later. This Travelodge is 5 mins walk from Oxford Park and Pay Bus station and a 24-hr hourly coin operate car park, at a fixed rate so highly recommend to stay and park here. Stayed 1 night with a family member. Clean, t...

Had a great stay at this centrally located hotel. Spacious twin room, spotlessly clean. Only complaint would be that there is no parking and I didn't realise this when I booked. There is a car park close by which hotel residents get a discounted £12 per 24 hour stay. There was some discrepancy between what the hotel told us about extra payment if you went over the 24 h...

Good things: The staff are excellent. The receptionists are also the wait staff, and, possibly, the cleaning staff, too. Hence everybody knows what to do. They are friendly and warm, always welcoming us coming in and out of the hotel. The room is spacious and very comfortable. We stayed for 5 days and every day was great. The bathroom is clean and futuristic. Remind...

gorgeous hotel, location on the seafront not too far from town, lovely decor, breakfast included was amazing. the room itself clean, tidy, comfy, excellent bathroom. really lifted my spirits from experience of arrival. (lovely service) what really lets the experience down was a guarantee of a car park, which was one of the key reasons we booked this hotel and the...

The hotel was ideally located in the middle of a busy but energetic location--great for sight seeing, window shopping, museum visits and visiting the wonderful world of old England and Oxford University and its colleges. There is so much to do, we were sorry to leave.

The hotel staff are 5 star. They are really friendly and helpful in ensuring whatever you need is done. They also give me tips of where to shop and what to do. I was offered the upgrade for 20 pounds to the executive suite which include the internet and so on which I took on. It was worth it. The hotel room is well design. Bed is big and comfy and there is a futon whic...

Brilliant location within walking distance to bars, restaurants & shops. Beautiful hotel set in an old prison keeping some of the characteristics of a prison. Our bedroom was beautiful, maybe a little bit cramped but not a problem but the bathroom could have done with a bit of updating both the shower & sink had chips/cracks in them. We had 3 rooms booked & it was only...

I had a very pleasant stay at The View Hotel, though there was an issue with my booking, via Agoda which had to be resolved at check in. I booked what Agoda called a premium single room with a balcony but the hotel said that this meant a standard room, with no balcony. In the end I was given the room I'd booked, without having to pay more, which was great. The room w...

Was exactly as it said! Great location, clean and comfy. Lovely breakfast hamper, such a great idea! Fab ensuite! We were at the very top of the house so it was warm but a big fan had been supplied so it was ok. The weather was very very warm so not really the hotels fault it was so hot on the top floor. Definitely wouldn’t put me off booking the top of the house agai...

The Hotel was nice and clean and staff were very helpful and courteous, the only downside was due to the lovely weather we have had the bedrooms were unbelievably very hot and a fan was provided but far to hot to sleep. This hotel really needs to have air conditioning in all bedrooms and public areas. To sleep in conditions of 80-90 degrees is impossible. But generall...

With such mixed reviews we were interested to see what the hotel had in store. Lovely staff, great breakfast, pretty bar area and grounds. Decor felt like a seedy nightclub, even though everything was spotlessly clean and beds were comfy, rooms quiet, the free tea and coffee to room was a nice touch. But please, loose the snakeskin velour walls! As an interior designe...

Great place, comfortable and clean. Myself and two friends stayed two nights and really enjoyed our stay. We booked a triple room which had both bath and shower with a lovely courtyard area. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was delicious. This hotel is very close to the sea front and a short walk to shopping areas Would definately stay again.

I took this hotel to avoid hotels with old interior in the city. I got a nice room with a view of Oxford football stadium. The staff were friendly and helpful. A supermarket, entertainment center and cinemas are available some 100 m away. Located quite at the edge of the city. Reachable by a local bus but need to walk for another 300 m through the neighborhood. Taxi t...
Cheap places to stay in South East, England

Brighton Home has some excellent features: the responsive and caring staff, the beds have privacy curtains, the showers and toilets are clean spacious and available. and the location is close to green areas, shopping and quality restaurants at reasonable prices. It is definitely a good value for the money. There are some facets I would have preferred to be different:...

The Kings Arms is a busy and fairly historic pub. It does things well and gets on to the next. Bart and Toby, who welcomed me, made me a cup of coffee. This, to the arriving traveller, is pure class! The place couldnt be more central and staying here couldn't be more simple or satisfactpry. No frills and no BS. Perfect. Book it.

The hostel was easy to find from the station and close to the city centre. Though I was rather early, it was no problem for the staff to store my bag for me. It was quite busy with a school group staying as well, but I never heard any noise and could only slightly notice that we shared a bathroom. My single room was excellent, breakfast was cheap and very well.

A quick overnight stay before visiting Dover from Wales. Clean and comfortable hostel which was recently refurbished. New design and colourful in the common toilet and bathroom. Slept on the upper deck of a double decker bed in a 6-men bunk. Great experience for my first stay in a hostel.

This is my third time in Brighton but the first time stay here. This is probably the best backpack hostel I've ever stayed in the UK. Perfect location, I can even see the sea in my room. Its a 6 female dorm, the room is big and clean. The private bathroom is the best part, modern and decent, totally hotel-standard. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. I arrived at...

Disappointed at the beginning due to a mis information through the agoda website. It should be a lift (and I’ve basiccal booked here just for that due to a problem with my arms) but there are actually only loads of stairs and no lift. But the guy at the reception kindly help me to manage my heavy luggage and I’ve really appreciate it. I’ve booked another night because...

Great value for money. Conveniently located near restaurants and a short walk from the beach. However, be warned: the desk is not manned at certain hours. We got back around 11:30 at night but didn't realize that the staff went off duty at 10PM (it was posted, but not as obviously as it should have been). Luckily one of the staff members happened to be around but repri...

My second Travelodge stay during this trip to England. Lives up to my impression of clean, bright, helpful staff, convenient location and of course the reasonable rate. From now onwards Travelodge will be my hotel to look out for. We even wondered how come we didn't check Travelodge in London. It has become a Brand. :-)

reception have miserable attitude, request for ground floor and larger bed on booking ignored, disabled but given upstairs room no lift!.told they couldn't do half board for price we had already paid in full, not my problem I paid for what I wanted, regardless of price I paid,,told if not happy I can have my money back without them charging me a cancellation fee so I can r...

We went with trepidation when we read on the web the day before we left that the hotel is for sale (August 2019) but as it turned out all was fine. Overall, East Beach has a very welcoming feel and friendly staff, and the room we chose together with the communal areas were all bright, tastefully furnished and very clean. The Agoda room 28 photo is well out-of-date ...

The only positive about this hotel is the location, only a few metres from the promenade. There are no off loading facility, you can only unload your luggage at the designated car park, over 200 metres away. The room was very small, no fridge, the electric kettle was dirty and heavily ingrained with calcium. The curtains had to be permanently closed as the room was ove...

The hotel was well located at the sea front, signboard even though Red,is not easily spotable, the atmosphere was clean ,staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable even though on the small side.Check out was quick. There was no lounge to relax.Generally,it was good value for the money .

It's a bit farther out from the city, but was almost on the cycle route we were taking. The staff was very nice, but the bathroom wasn't really clean (but I wouldn't call it dirty either). The continental breakfast included everything expected, but just didn't taste too good.

Staff very helpful Located next to beach and shops Had old type blanket on bed We had been upgraded to a double room which was good Breakfast disappointing The waiter forgot to bring the weetabix first brought out the cooked breakfast when I said we haven't had the weetabix he said I forgot. Then said did I want the cooked breakfast after. So I said yes af...
4-star hotels in South East, England

We stayed at My Hotel this weekend and had a lovely time. Set in the centre of Brighton's quirky lanes, My Hotel is modern and comfortable with futuristic decor and bohemian art work. On arrival we were greeted by a helpful porter who assisted us with our luggage. The reception staff were polite and but could have been a little friendlier for perfect customer service....

Being told because i did not book direct with hotel i must pay for car parking with add ons its not value for money paying your company a small under price reduction because it works out more expensive for customers you should let people no the true facts before they book to stop them being shocked by car parking price and extras for breakfast. The central location of the hotel was excellent, right in the heart of Oxford. A few minutes walk and you can be punting on the river, or in one of the lovely shopping streets, restaurants or bars. A bonus in the hotel is there is off street parking, although they do charge for it, but as parking is otherwise very difficult in Oxford, this is a great convenience if y...

The hotel is a beautiful old, victorian building with a gorgeous marble staircase and stain glass windows, leading up from reception (there is a lift, dont panic!!). Its right on the sea and only a ten minute walk from Henry VIII fort and the D-day museum. The rooms have been modernised. There is central heating but no air con but they do provide electric fans. The...

We booked the property a couple of days prior to arrival, upon arrival there were not setup as intended and we got an instant free upgrade to a suite! We were travelling with another family with younger children. The staff were accommodating and helpful, the pool was a real bonus and the breakfast was yummy. The rooms are big and specious and the view from our balcony...

It's not a 5 star hotel with all the mod cons you would expect, but this hotel is not pretending to be anything other than a jolly nice place to stay for a night or two whilst passing through. Recommend for staying a night or two before going on a Cruise, or moving onto other parts of England.

We arrived after 6 so reception was closed but our roooms were left open and keys inside, we were allowed in via intercom on the door which I assume was linked to a remote "out of hours" reception - thankfully we didn't arrive too late! Lovely hotel and very high standard of finishes in the rooms, not one for stag/hen parties though as I was reading in the t's & c's th...

Totally unique experience, don't stay here if you want a Prem inn. The staff were happy to talk and seem interested in what we discussed. The rooms in this old townhouse are quirky and because of that bespoke. The breakfast is up there with the best of them. It came highly recommended I'll shall do the same. Well done.

A lovely hotel with a nice & clean interior and a brilliant location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and were greeted by a lovely receptionist who was very helpful and attentive. We had booked a superior sea view which was so nice! The bed was huge and view was amazing, as luckily we had booked a great day weather wise! Bathroom was nice, albeit a little on the sm...

Unfortunately we were not able to obtain connecting rooms, like we had last time we stayed, although no real inconvenience. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and accommodated us with the most of our requirements. The elevators were troublesome to not only us, with one elevator only working between the reception and lower ground floors and the other two ...

We enjoyed our stay at the Burlington Hotel so much that we will definitely return again. Although there was a wedding taking place at the hotel we heard nothing a enjoyed a good nights sleep. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We enjoyed the walk along the 'Leas' after our days journey A good visit and stay

From the moment we arrived all we met were helpful friendly staff, from the check in desk, to the porters, waiters, Spa staff and maintenance men! The Spa staff provided the best massage I've ever had- and I have been to a number of Spas across the World from Australia via Mauritias to Sweden.

The hotel is close to the station and shopping center and many restaurants around. The room is very clean and modern, seems has renovation not long ago. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they helped me to book a taxi and asked the VS about delayed flight details for me, thanks a lot! The welcome cookie was very nice too!

We made an online booking for 2 nights as we liked the location and look of the hotel. We couldn't have been happier! Michelle and her staff made us feel very much at home and we ended up staying an extra night. If we were back in the area, we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else and have already recommended the Leicester Arms to friends and family.

It is a Hilton, so cleanliness and quality are up to expectations. While it is a little off Central Oxford (the object of our tour, Oxfordshire is not quite Oxford City, I learn), it was still a decent base from which to make forays into the city... and not quite sure if we could get a similar room for 3 people at that rate elsewhere in Oxford City. More importantl...

Beautiful hotel in a lovely picturesque location. The staff are very attentive and could not do enough for you. Everything was well thought through although we did not use the spa facilities or have breakfast. I will miss shampoo conditioner and body wash was provided in the shower (no bath in a room) but I would’ve liked to have seen a few extra toiletries in the bat...

We hadn’t realised it was a Britannia owned hotel when we booked as they have had some bad publicity recently and were a bit concerned. However the registration was a quick efficient friendly process which included opening a tab. Our room on the 4th floor was spacious with two beds and modern stylish furniture. We had lots of room and a sliding door to a small balcony...

the service at the randolph is polite and attentive without feeling intrusive. despite its size ans 5* star status, it has the feel of a small family run hotel, but with better facilities. afternoon tea in the lounge is very good and a lovely way to relax on arrival. the cocktails in the morse bar have to be sampled, and dinner was superb, despite the restaurant being ...

Good location but lack of service and maintenance. At the first night we checked in the hotel, the concierge didn't help us to take the baggagies from the rood to the hotel lobby (there is a 10 steps stairs at least) The hitter (which installed under the wooden floor) in the hotel room was out of order, we had to ask the staff provide us a portable hitter. Cannot ...

Had a lovely night stay at this charming little hotel .Lovely location, staff really attentive and the owner friendly and very helpful. The rooms are fabulous, big comfy bed with luxury bed linen, the bathroom was huge with a fabulous walk-in shower and a luxurious roll top bath ! We will be going back ! And would I Recommend this place to a friend ? YES DEFINITELY.

We have visited and stayed at the Crazy Bear on previous special occasions and its a really fun quirky unique experience. The staff were great, and special thanks to Charlotte who made us very welcome. The whole place is an assault on your senses... with a luxurious mixture of hunting lodge meeting Africa meeting the Middle East! Difficult to describe unless you've e...

Beautiful hotel about 2 minute walk from the de la Warr Pavillion, with loads of restaurants nearby, the hotel also has its gorgeous looking restaurant as well After being checked in by the owners we went up to our room, Room 5, beautifully furnished and very welcoming. Unfortunately we had an family emergency in the early hours of the morning, so we missed out on our ...

we had a very good time and excellent service including good food at the hotel restaurant. our stay was pleasant and hotel withing walking distance from main shopping roads. very well satisfied with the service and hospitality of hotel staff. they make you feel at home. first time visiting southampton and now plan to visit again.

Beautiful location. Efficient, competent and helpful staff - in particular, Christos at reception. Room Service menu could be improved. Breakfast in the main dining room was excellent. Guest services and doormen were exceptionally helpful. Overall, a pleasure to stay at Coworth Park

There are a lot of modern and minimalist hotels these days. This one is traditional and grand - a pleasant stay if you feel like something a bit different. I liked the high ceilings downstairs. And the dining hall is grand. Afternoon tea was pleasant, and breakfast ingredients were good quality - even at five star hotels you sometimes get just the usual tasteless ce...

chose it based on reviews, and would definitely recommend it. we arrived to lovely welcome drink, and after quick freshen up we had a taxi and restaurant booked. thoroughly fed and watered a 5-minute taxi ride later, we were back in the comfort of our room, a sumptuous bathroom and a cracking night's sleep. we had a very late breakfast - they were very flexible, and a ...

We stayed in room 2 which was on the small side but it was spotlessly clean with a modern en suite and super shower. The bed was soooo comfortable with lovely plumped up pillows. There was plenty to chose from on the breakfast menu. I had the traditional breakfast breakfast which was cooked to perfection and piping hot. If you appreciate Victorian houses you will l...

loved the crown inn. definitely a highlight of our week long trip in the uk. a place that oozes charm and history.if only the walls could talk. our room was compact, but very comfortble, especially the bed. our party of eight had a superb meal at night in the restaurant. staff was extremely friendly, in short, a perfect stay.

Really enjoyed our 2 nights at the Olde Bell, lovely location in the village of Hurley. Stayed in the Bell Lodge (cheapest rooms) which was nice, modern and quiet. Nice continental buffet breakfasts although we were told on first morning that cooked breakfast was extra only to be told on 2nd morning that it was in fact included on our room rate. A little disappointe...

I arrived later than the normal check in time which did not seem a problem which was good. I was shown to my room which was a superior double room, the standard of he room and facilities were excellent. I was shown around the room and various facilities were pointed out to me as well as how to operate the roof light blinds. I needed to check out early in the morning so...

We arrived and were. Greater by Martin who shoed us to our room, he was friendly and recommended the best taxi firm to take us to the birthday party we were attending. The room was modern with character, it had top end fixtures and fittings. The bed was clean and very comfortable, large modern shower with extra large fluffy towels. Breakfast was good quality with...
