Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaër hotels & places to stay

nice hosts, beautiful decor. in sale so to see sights, need to walk 10-30 mins to catch a rowboat, taxi or tram to rabat. metered petit taxis stay in sale or rabat, but to go between, need to negotiate grande taxi which i find to be a hassle. or walk 25-30 mins to tram. i was welcomed with fresh juice. room spacious but very low hot water pressure so i took a bath in nice tub with jets! like all riads, you can hear other guests when they are in common areas. had nice dinner there for 200dh (drinks additional) which was worth not having to go out. included breakfast was good. no tourist maps so bring your own.

The name spells it out - B and B means bed and breakfast and you get nothing more. This place appears to be brand new. Rooms are clean and functional but spartan, breakfast a rather limited buffet. It was though fine for a few nights seeing Rabat being in walking distance of the station, medina and, a little further, the kasbah and is also close to the new tram service.

the hotel room was large enough to be comfortable, with modern furnishings and quite clean. the hotel staff were quite accommodating, for example in finding an adapter for me to use with my u.s. computer plug. the limited buffet breakfast seemed expensive at over u.s. or dirhams. the elevator was under repair and could only be sent to a floor from inside the elevator, which caused some inconvenience but hotel staff worked with guests to get them to send it back to the lobby after going up to their rooms, or staff went up the steps to retrieve it.the location near the tram line and close to several good restaurants outside the hotel was ideal, and only a ten minute taxi ride forn the airport rabat sale airport. i would readily return to the hotel.

This is a lovely, well run riad. My room was spacious, clean and even had a desk. All good. The only problem is that I booked it thinking it was in Rabat. It is not. It is in a city called, Sale, which is over the river from Rabat but runs 20-30 kms down the coast. When I found out it was not in Rabat, I tried to cancel, the owners refused. The place was too far from Rabat to take in the Rabat sights, I even had to change my train booking because Rabat station was too far away and wold have cost a fortune in taxis. At best this is a misreprasentation and false adveertising, and at worse a scam. Agoda needs to take some responsibilty for listing this place under Rabat. It isn't

I stayed at this riad for one night and was very disappointed in the design and lighting in the room. The colored lighting was intended to look "chic" but was very disturbing to live with as well as too dim to read anything. I have stayed in lovely riad's across Morocco and cannot recommend this one. We were asked if we wanted dinner and were not given a price until it was time to pay. It was an expensive and average dinner, not at all worth what was charged. I booked because there was a pool but it was very small, only one person could swim.

This is definitely the most beautiful Raid I stayed throughout my trip in Morocco , love the beautiful environment, the food was delicious too ( just that we waited quite Long) the rooftop dinning was great! Most importantly, the tourists spots are nearby.. And my husband fell sick when he was there, the staff was kind enough to provide help, we really enjoy our stay there.

Travelling from the UK, I searched for several hotels on the Internet and I found Riad Dar Baddi. My stay was very pleasant and found the hotel to be very clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel offers a airport transfer which you can arrange before you arrive. This hotel looks traditional, feels traditional and I as visitor was very impressed with the services it offered. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Rabat/Sale. You will not be disappointed, if you have any questions the management speak French/Arabic/English. If you want to feel like your in Morocco and you want good value for money, then this hotel should be on top of your list. I hope this information helps those who wish to visit. It's a very good hotel overall. The best part is probably the staff. The manager is just an angel. He's been the most helpful and friendly person, full of good advices and support. He can also speak most european languages. He and his staff will make an amazing breakfast, with home made bread and orange juice. The location is also very convenient, right in the center of Medina for easy access to the Casbah the Uddaya, the sea side and also a 10 mintes walk from the train station. The hotel facility is a beautiful and picturesque acient historical house of the medina. You can also enjoy the roof top with interesting views of the city. The only problem is with the all rooms facing the internal courtyard with extremely filmsy windows plus a hole on the top which cannot be closed. The cleaning conditions are the ones available in Morocco so don't expect too much on that side anywhere in the country. Also the water in the shower drain was running too slow and created a puddle. The wifi was good and working well.

The major international airport in Morocco is in Casablanca. So I had to take a train from Casablanca airport to Rabat. Majliss Hotel stands right next to the central station (Rabat Ville). This is really wonderful, because there is a tram stop just outside Rabat Ville station as well. This hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is standard kind of continental, and again, every staff member is friendly and caring. Overall, Majliss is not luxurious, but definitely good value for money.

Booked 2 rooms at this hotel. Requested one room with a large bed. Morning staff said this will be available after and given to me at 1 pm. At 3 pm, a different staff member said she was not aware of this. Air conditioner blows air but it is not cold. Breakfast opens at 7:OO the sign says. The restaurant opened at 7:07am. The eggs arrived at the buffet table at 7:30 am. No fruits for breakfast. An easy walk to the train station.

note that this is an apartment that you will be staying at with the owner. with that being said he is a very sweet man and will be helpful. the room is small but I had enough room if I needed to spread out things. there is a couch and a balcony. it is a short walk to the medina but there are many coffee shops along the way and a few banks. there is a small grocery store across the street. the owner contacts you via WhatsApp and is very approachable and helps as much as possible. I had 0 issues it was a good first stop.

Our room was not located conveniently, it was right in front of dining area -somewhat disturbing when we want to take a rest or sleep as people still hanging out in the area until late night, it also made us inconvenient to open room's (privacy matters), whereby it was humid/moist weather at Rabat in summer time (probably due to near with the beach) and there was no aircon in the room it's a bit uncomfortable to sleep at night in the room. Had difficulties with communication as most of the staffs not able or very little in speaking English, they speak french, arabic or spain whereby we are not able to speak one of those three, although the staffs (especially kitchen staffs) were very helpful and friendly. Overall it was an ok to stay in Kalaa.

we booked this online and sight unseen and could not have been happier. the staff is friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout, from the welcoming mint tea to helping with phone calls to giving directions and advice. while their english was limited, (french is spoken by all staff in addition to arabic), they found a way to figure it out. the riad is nicely decorated, clean, and quiet. it is also incredibly easy to get to- literally one turn from one of the main gates of the medina), which can be complicated. the price was reasonable and included a good breakfast. wi-fi is available, easy, and free. we loved the place and have already recommended it to a number of friends.

This Riad is easy to access. Although it is in the backstreet in Bazaar, there is sign at the entrance of street, also the Riad sent resident a detail guide on how to go the Riad, which is very considerate. The staffs there are polite although most of them only speak a little bit English, but for simple communication it has no problem. The Riad is in a convenient location and accessible to all main attractions in Rabat.

We really enjoyed our stay at Riad Dar Soufa. We originally booked for one night, but stayed an extra night. The owner was very friendly, though French is her main language and we only speak English. We managed to use Google Translate to communicate though and managed fine. The riad itself is beautiful and our room was very comfortable. A bit tricky to find, but we used Google Maps and we managed to find it without having to ask directions. I think we probably had the smallest (i.e. cheapest) room ,but it was big enough. The bathroom was big, but there is only a curtain separating it from the main room, so not a huge amount of privacy...fine for us though as a couple. Would definitely recommend!

It's relatively new and hasn't suffered the fate of older, run-down places like Hotel Bouregreg. Let's hope it doesn't go that way either because some traces of tear are already noticeable. Due to the air channel in the bathroom you might find some insects in the room (nothing to worry about though). Staff was friendly and efficient. Location is good IF you know Rabat well. Wifi-signal was strong and stable. Nothing to complain about really. The price is a bit too high and the lounge/bar/restaurant aren't open, so no food available.

If you are willing spend some time trying to find this place, you will have a great experience. Its a real hidden gem in Sale. There are no tourists in this area yet it is still in a great old medina near the beach. The house is magnificient with amazing decorations, hundreds of doorways, windows and secret seating areas. The best thing is the little old caretaker who is so helpful and charming that you feel as though you are at your grandma's house. Great.

I booked this hotel by mistake. I thought it was in the medina of Rabat but it´s in Salé, which is a town 20 mn away by public transport. We had to take a tram and a taxi to get to Salé medina. That was a bit inconvenient although the hotel was quite nice and Salé is not touristy so you could have a real feeling of local traditional life. The biggest unpleasant surprise was when we were about to check out and the host told us to pay 8 euros as an extra tax! That was not mentioned in the booking details and we should have been informed about this before.
