Nagasaki Prefecture hotels & places to stay

Wonderful stay at Casa Blanca. The location is excellent for sightseeing. Dejima and Chinatown are right beside it, the Dutch slope and Seaside Park are 15 minutes away, and the tram is just around the corner if your destination is Glover Gardens/Oura Cathedral or Atomic a Bomb Museum/Peace Park. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and you are also able to cook your own meals if you prefer. The only slight inconvenience I found was the lack of an elevator (my room was on the 5th floor), since I had a big suitcase. I ended up just taking the things I need for the night upstairs while leaving my bag in the luggage storage area. Not a big deal. I would come back if I visit Nagasaki again. Also, they offer discounted tickets to the Nagasaki ropeway, so ask the staff about it if you're planning to go there anyway.

pros -- The location of this hostel is no more than 5 minutes south of Nagasaki station, and even closer to the nearest tram station. It is also very close to the Nagasaki Port terminal if traveling to nearby islands. The dorm rooms have futon style beds with individual curtains, lamp, chargers, and safety deposit box, so you can feel relatively safe with your belongings. The common lounge area is set-up in a way that you will have to talk to other travelers, so during my one-night stay, I met some great people, both overseas and domestic travelers. The Japanese staff also speak good enough English, and are pretty helpful. Cons -- The only con is that there is only 1 shower per dorm room (in a room of up to 10 people). So if it's packed, you'll be waiting a while to take a shower. Overall, it's a great hostel with a nice vibe. They also provide free coffee, tea, bread and jam for breakfast.

With the facilities and amenities that this place offers, it is understandable that the price is more expensive compared to a typical hostel or capsule hotel. The reception staffs for check-in and check-out were really nice. The room has plenty of space considering it's still in capsule hotel category. The hotel only has one shower room for male, but it does have a communal male bathroom. Though it may be far from Nagasaki Station, it is still close to Kankodori Station that has direct tram service to Nagasaki Station.

This is the first time I visit Nagasaki, I surprisingly found that the staffs of AKARI are so kind and they gave me MANY information about my tour. First, they have their own map about the area nearby which can tell you the places to go. Second, they offer a discount card and it's VERY VERY useful since most of the famous place in Nagasaki can be discounted by this card (e.g. the rope way of Mt. Inasayama is 50% off). They also kindly answer your questions about the stay or the restaurant nearby. The equipment in AKARI is also sufficient without any worry.

Original plan was 3 nights camping in the island by rent a car with my son. But since we couldn’t find a rental car for the first day, we suddenly booked this guesthouse in the morning. Despite of sudden booking, the hosts kindly arranged picking up service from the airport (¥1,000-), nice seafood izakaya restaurant and a shuttle to the restaurant. We also enjoyed conversation with international and interests guests. We left the guesthouse and did camping from 2nd day but thanks to the frank information by the host, we could enjoy tourism during the trip. The house is old but ver clean so that we could walk barefoot. Kitchen is clean and no smells. My 13 years old son enjoyed old Nintendo games. We were lucky to stay this nice guesthouse.

I really liked this hostel. The staff was INCREDIBLY friendly. They layout was great. Someone handmade these awesome wooden mini-rooms. There was room for my luggage in my bed area, plus there were lockers for valuables and you can lock any big bags on a rack outside the dorms if needed. My dormitory bed, bathroom, shower, and kitchen were all on the same floor. It was super clean and comfortable. It's a nice, 15 minute walk to the Peace Memorial Park and museum, and also is only blocks away from the local street car so you can take that if you're not feeling up to the walk/going somewhere further. I'd stay there again if I ever head back to Nagasaki!

This charming place is located on a hill and facing the Twenty-Six Martyrs Museum and Monument. It is a 5 minutes walk to/from Nagasaki Station, but one must go up an overhead bridge, a steep slope, and stairs in the building. (If you carry luggage you will definitely take more than 5 minutes.) I booked a bed in the dorm, and each bed is like a small room with its own folding doors (lockable with a key, so you can leave your stuffs in there during the day), lights and power outlet. There are free wifi, free towel and a pair of slippers for internal use. Shampoo and body wash are provided in the shared shower. The shared toilet is separate from the shower, and there were 6 guests sharing one toilet and one shower. The common area has a fridge, a microwave and a small stove. The staff who attended to me was very friendly and helpful, and can speak good English. I stayed for 2 nights and I was given a discount card for attractions in Nagasaki. The place also sells the tram day-pass.

Due to very heavy rainstorm, we had to cancel all plan in Nagasaki and headed to Shimabara earlier. We arrived the hotel under strong wind and rain 2 hours before check-in time but the staff allowed us to have early check-in without charge. Our room were on the top floor and we could see the clear view of Shimabara Castle when the weather became clear at night. A foot and leg massager was also equipped in our room (I think not all rooms have the massager, anyway). We could also wash and dry our wet clothes by free washing machine & dryer. Pros: - Spacious room. Room with castle view may be offered if available - Free welcome drink - Free usage of washing machine and dryer - Very helpful staff - A convenient store locates just next to the hotel Cons: - The room had cigarette smell, but still acceptable. - A part of the room floor was slightly sticky, it is recommended to wear the provided slipper. Comments: - The optional Japanese breakfast cost has already increased from 500 to 700 Yen, starting from 1 April 2016. - Car park is not free. Guests have to pay 500 Yen/car/night. You have to inform the plate number to the staff.

This is by far the biggest room I ever come across for standard of Japan hotel. It’s just stone throw away from the bus station. The hotel have two Onsen for male and female in separate floor located in another building attached with it. There is a restaurant in the hotel but we didn’t try it. To go to most tourist spots on the mountain you will need to take a bus up. There are few restaurants nearby and a convenient store across the road. Our stay here is memorable as the sunset view from the room is mesmerizing.

Room, like many rooms in Japan, is small. That said, I did find my stay relatively enjoyable. Price wasn't too pricey and service is as expected. Mainly went out in morning and came home late. Stayed 2 nights in early April 2019. Best part is location - only 5 minutes' walk to the intercity bus station (that can take you to Nagasaki or Fukuoka); and the JR station is about 10-15 minutes' walk away.

Hotel is located within eye shot of the main Nagasaki station (to the left when you walk out). There is a restaurant on the first floor. I didn't eat there, but Japanese food is usually decent to awesome no matter where you got it. The single room was small and quaint and warm in winter. The hotel is about ten to fifteen minute walk to deijima wharf which has some nice night time scenery and really good restaurants (especially for a date). In the day time there is a Nagasaki historical museum near by which is definitely a must for fans of history or old school japan. There is also the peace park and other great nearby attractions. The bar district is not far either, but not really a party area. Mostly for after work businessmen Downside to the hotel is the bed is solid (Japanese hotel style, not American). And the pillows were useless. Other than that, good affordable hotel with great location in Nagasaki.

We stayed in this hotel for almost a week. Everything was great. The hotel was clean, the staff were very polite and approachable. Some of the staff understood English, so it’s good. They have WiFi but sometimes fluctuates. Pros and cons. Cause the hotel is in ginza the parking is not free. But other than that everything is ok. My husband was always at work, so eats easier for me to go to places cause it’s close by. There’s also a kitchen in the 6th floor. And coin laundry too. Use agoda to book ur stay. Accidentally I reserved 6days instead of 7days. So when I ask to extend they told me $80. But I got it previously at agoda lesser than that. Lucky I checked agoda again, they have it for $60. I love agoda.

It's located near to Nagasaki station & bus station; about 5 mins walk. The breakfast in the hotel (500¥ per pax) is nice & worth the money. The staff at the counter are friendly & professional; they have your room key ready once you step in. The beds in our room is big & comfortable. The room is very clean with free wifi. The toilet is small but very clean; & even has a bottle of air refresher. Although there's a kettle in the room, the lobby has a drinking water tank so we could fill up our empty bottle before we start our journey. We will definitely come back to stay here when we visit Nagasaki again.

Very nice modern hotel located in small and very peaceful town. The Kikitsu station is 4min walk away. The room is reasonable size (for Japanese standards). One special amnety they have in the room is a foot massager, quite useful to massage your legs after a day walking around Nagasaki prefecture. The staff are friendly even though they are not quite proficient in English. Guess you’ve to learn more Japanese. But not much of a problem when you’ve google translate. Another facility they provide for free is the washing machines and driers (detergents included). Nice touch.

Great location! Literally 30 seconds away from the bus terminal that will take you to the airport and other destinations. It is also 5 minutes away from the nearest tram station and JR station. Front staffs were kind and helpful. Check in was a breeze. Although this hotel is a bit old, but don't worry facilities were well-maintained, and the room itself was HUGE by Japanese hotel standards. One thing that caught my attention perhaps was just the air conditioning. Somehow I feel that it was a little bit too strong (even when you put to "low"). Despite that, it was overall a very pleasant stay. Thank you Hotel Orion Nagasaki! I'll definitely recommend to anyone visiting Nagasaki.

The hotel was much better than we had expected before arrival. We had earlier been afraid of the bed size as we booked for "semi-double" that we might have to share a small single bed for the night. It turned out the bed was double enough for two, fitted to Japanese tight room. The hotel was a short walk from Nagasaki station, only two tram stations. Shoikd walk to the hotel to avoid a cramped tram and climbing up walkway's stairs to the tram's station. It is nextbto Dejima's historical Dutch settlements and Youme shopping complex and sea terminal. Breakfast was not included but guesta could buy vouchers at the front desk for a nominal price about 3 dollars each. Room Wi-Fi was good and very fast with individual login for each room .

I booked this hotel to avoid the need of carrying the luggage to cross the overhead. It was a reasonably easy 10 mins' walk each way to and fro Nagasaki station without luggage. One advantage was having the tram stop very near hotel Ikelda. When I decided to change the JR tickets to a later timing, the staff was unsure and suggested I walked back to Nagasaki station to enquire myself. It would have been more helpful if they could provide more information.

Isahaya is a small town about 20 minutes from central Nagasaki by express commuter train. It is a good choice for an inexpensive place to stay while visiting Nagasaki. The Isahaya Station Hotel is, oddly, not located next to the station. There are other hotels in between. It is about a 5 minute walk down the road, after turning left. It may be quite difficult to locate if you cannot read katakana. The hotel itself is a bit old and rundown, less clean than normal for Japanese hotels. But it is also much cheaper than usual, and certainly the level of accommodation is fair for the price. The front desk staff were friendly, though they did not speak English.

We were doing a self drive free and easy tour. The Hotel Forza is not listed on the GPS and we had to ask at a petrol station for additional instructions. Parking is about 5 minute walk from the hotel. Being located within the shopping area and business district of Nagasaki the hotel is generally fully booked. The staff was one of the best and extremely helpful in making our stay very comfortable. We received a upgrade and being on very top floor gave us an excellent view of Nagasaki. Nagasaki China town is also within a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The room was very clean and in like new condition. Excellent stay!
