Where to stay in Kagoshima Prefecture
Kagoshima Prefecture hotels & accommodations
I booked a room of Dormy Inn Kagoshima for 2 days, and i was very satisfied by many kinds of services that the hotel gave me. Staffs are very kind and they always asked me whether i felt unconvenience. condition of Hot spring was always good, but available time is too short in the morning, because i usually want to take a shower after 10 o clock, but at that time, hot...
The room is quite small, but I just need to pay about HKD$330/night. The location is nice, very convenience. It just takes about 20 minutes to walk to Kagoshima-Chou. The staff is very helpful. The facilities are great. You can choose the shampoo and conditioner you like in the lobby(Hotel also provide small containers). And there are 7 kinds of pillows on each floor...
The airport bus stops, depending on direction of travel, are located next door and opposite, the tram stops for trams that run between the Shinkansen and Kagoshima Stations are right in front and it is a 15 minute walk to the ferry ports. The hotel is located in the middle of the main Kagoshima shopping district surrounded by large department stores, covered shopping m...
Hotel local nearby 2 km away from JR and shopping mall; free parking, i think it is the biggest scale hotel in Kagoshima, lots of facilities including children indoor play room and free hot spring. At least 5 restaurants for choices. Brilliant
Remm Kagoshima is on the main street of Kagoshima City. Shopping areas is just downstairs. Excellent design features right from entrance to the room. There are a lot of user-friendly design inside the room, for example, multi-plug charger, massage chair, washroom is close to the windows while keeping the sleeping area in the inner part of the room, etc. Room size is ...
This hotel is clean and professional. I would highly recommend getting the view of Sakurajima, which you can see from your room while you sip a cup of tea. I would highly recommend the breakfast buffet, which is cheaper if you get tickets in advance. A good selection of both Japanese and Western foods with good service too. There is a good cluster of restaurants acro...
Went to Kagoshima to do some sightseeing. The location was amazing! You can take the airport bus to Kagoshima Chou Station and the hotel is right next to the bus stop. It is very convenient. Although the room was a bit small (standard size in Japan) it was incredibly comfortable with amazing views! The volcanic side is very beautiful! Didn't have a chance to try the ho...
The hotel is located 20 minutes walk from Kagoshima-Chuo station in a sidelane. In the evening there are a lot of restaurants in the surround. The sights of Kagoshima are easy to reach by tram or just walking. The Blue Wave Inn is a good hotel which a lot of services for the guests, rooms are nice, clean and spacey. Reception is friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay ...
An excellent hotel, with great onsen, food is delicious and staff service is quite nice. Only things need to improve is that the hotel don't have shuttle bus service and needs to bring own luggage thru stairs if stay at south tower. However, staff service are excellent and willing to help. I would say that this is the best hotel I stayed in Kirishima.
The hotel location is right in the heart of the commercial area, just 1 minutes walk from the Tenmonkan tram station. The shopping street is just downstairs, you can get everything you want with within a few minutes and there are lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel restaurant offered 4 choices of semi buffet breakfast, including the Kagoshima famous roasted Kurob...
I stayed at this hotel for one night with my wife. We were in town for our kids' swim meet that was taking place at the Kamoike Park Pool. The room was small, but clean, with a double bed. The best thing about the hotel is the location. It is connected to Kagoshima Chuo station, so it was literally a 1 minute walk from exiting the Shinkansen gates to get to the hotel e...
Location is perfect, so many restaurants and shopping streets around you and only 5 minutes walk to bus stop which to airport. Hotel is big enough for you to store two big luggages.
Nice location, which is very near to the Kagoshima JR station. The service is awesome and the staff offered me to have an early check-in at around 1pm. The most satisfying is the breakfast. It is absolutely out of expectation! Highly recommend to others.
Excellent staff Excellent location Excellent hotel (very clean and the room is relative larger than the other hotels; and the mattress is so supportive, not too soft to make me have low back pain next day!) highly recommend :)
From hotel lobby and onsen we can get nice view of Kagoshima Bay. Hotel is rigid about check-in time at 3 pm and also called ahead to remind us of check-out time at 10 am. Staff also called us for breakfast as we'd overslept and when we got to the dining room they already got our breakfast ready so could enjoy our meal straightaway. Hotel also recommended us nice Ja...
I spent 3 nights in Kagoshima, visiting Sakurajima once and focusing the rest of my time on Meiji restoration tourism and Japanese history. The Hotel was a couple tram stops from the JR Kagoshima station, quick enough to reach on foot even with a large rucksack and really close to everything in general. Located on a busy street, there were lots of shops and restaurants...
The hotel is very close to Kagoshimachuo station (5 minute walk); ie the last and southernmost Shinkansen terminal in Japan. We could see the Shinkansen plaform from our room. Note that Kagoshimachuo and Kagoshima stations are two different station in the same city; the latter is far smaller, older and is less important. You'll pass by a Bic Camera store upon exiting t...
We reserved a twin bed room, it was new and very roomy. the hotel is located in the hearts of Kagoshima city, with airport buses and trams nearby. Lots of shops, restaurants and entertainments around.
Shops, restaurants nearby, easy access to places that we like. Good location, friendly and helpful staff, will stay again, if we visit Kagoshima again.
Went for 3 days for relaxing. Great view up to Kagoshima with good conditions. Visible from all rooms and the restaurant. Many different private onsen with nice views of their own. Food was great (japan ryokan style). Also staff very attentive and committed. Went hiking for onami pond, which was a stunning location. All in all perfect time. Access without own car is po...
When you book online it is difficult to know what you will be getting. Sunflex was one of the best hotels we stayed in while on our trip around Kyushu. Firstly the location in Kagoshima was brilliant, being just walking distance to shops and the waterfront. It was a quiet location too. The room was not as small as some, as it had a small entrance a queen size bed and a...
The Hotel is located very centrally for Kagoshima and has extremly friendly staff, also English speaking. They supported me for re-arranging my reservations in other hotels and transportation as my schedule was mixed up due to the earth-quake. One evening I enjoyed one of the best Kaiseki dinners in Japan - very fresh, full of vaiety: just delicious. Any time again!
i cant ask for more with the price i paid for. all staff are welcoming, thoughtful, helpful and approachable. the staff's level of English is not high but good enough for communication. Like most Japanese, they tried their very best to make my stay feel like home. The manager passed me a coupon for visiting the flower garden and saved me 90 yen. He gave me and my husba...
It’s cheap and included breakfast! The great things it’s there is a whole building for parking next to hotel which is free for hotel guest ! Location is close to Kagoshima city
A short walk from Kagoshima-chuo station took me to the hotel where i was greeted by friendly staff. Room was comfortable and it was spacious enough, leaving no reason for complaints. Got all the assistance from the staff when i needed it, so my stay at the hotel was a positive experience.
Sankara would be an exceptional "find" anywhere in the world. We stayed for four nights in October 2012. This was our 25th trip to Japan but our first to Yakushima. Our butler met us at the airport and drove us to the resort for a welcome drink and a package of maps and island information. Each villa has two floors and we were on the first floor. It was total comfort--...
Friendly, relaxed hot spring hotel; common areas are elegant and cozy; great rooftop bath with view of Mt. Shiroyama; professional staff. Only drawback is slightly far from the main train station. Also, the western-style single rooms probably leave a bit to be desired compared to the other types, all of which appeared to be much nicer; but I have no complaints as the r...
Compared to most Japanese hotels this one is more spacious and I'm happy to have booked it. It is just one kilometer away from Kagoshima station. The members of the staff are very polite and kind. It is in the middle of everything and is just a few meters from the Meiji Restoration Museum. I would definitely book again should I decide to go back to Kagoshima.
This is a nice ryokan, with river scenery. The meals are of add on charges, but of great quality. If you're not staying in any ryokan but deciding if you should for this hotel, book this! The rooms are not new, but it's clean. Futons are also comfortable, so don't worry about sleeping on a hard floor. There are also indoor hotsprings separately for men/women, shoe drye...
It's really wonderful experience of service and dinner. I felt the heritage of Ryokan in Kagoshima.
Cheap places to stay in Kagoshima Prefecture
Super cheap and great location super close to Kagoshima Station. Facilities might not be the best but they are still tidy and clean, and satisfactory. For this price I would definitely stay there again.
We loved our stay. The hostel was quaint and warm. Guests are encouraged to interact in the cozy sleeping and communal areas. You really feel the hostel traveler vibe, and it was a delight to swap globetrotting stories with like-minded, savvy explorers. The host was the real star of this place. She was very warm, caring, and accommodating, helping you plan out your i...
Good value. Great location near the ferry terminals and shopping/dining areas (~5mins walk). Dorms and facilities are clean and tidy with air-con (a must in summer!). Relaxed vibe. Kagoshima is covered in a layer of ash though, so expect a bit of grey powder around. The friendly English speaking staff are helpful with maps, etc. There's a few rental bikes out front (...
We stayed two nights to go up Mt Karakuni and visit the south of Kyushu. Cocos Garage is in the middle between Karishima and Mt Karakuni. We had our own car so getting there was no problem. The property has two buildings, one with the laundry and cooking room, and one with the bedroom, shower etc. The main building is also a coffee place but was not open when we were ...
The location is super central in Kagoshima, easy access to public transportation and sightseeing in the city. The hotel itself is amazingly clean and the bed is comfy and the staffs are super kind and friendly!!! It was my first time staying in capsule hotel , and this is beyond my expectations!!! Great value with great service!!! I would definitely recommend everyone...
When I saw the pictures in agoda, I didn’t expect about clean room. but it was super clean and cozy there. and it’s really close to center. it takes 10 min by walk from port. I highly recommend here.
Hostels in the Anbo area are great for a stay before Jomonsugi hike. And this one has a bus stop (#63 police station) right in front of it (okay...to be exact it's probably around 20 metres from the stop). The ground floor is a hiking supplies shop. While there's no restaurant inside, the have Eng info cards in the rooms to help you find cheap eats nearby and order the...
If you are looking for a quite and clean questhouse, this is a perfect place to go to. Only problem is there is nothing near the questhouse. If you don't have a car, buy the free bus ticket to save money to go to a supermarket, which is only 7 bus stops away from the QH and takes less than 10 minutes. Plz be aware that bus ride is quite expensive. For instance, fr...
There is no reception, so we were fortunate the owner happened to come by while we had waited a short time. Doesn't seem like there are many options on the island near the port, so it's hard to compare. Full kitchen and washing machine available for use. Mattress for sleeping on. Owner was quite helpful.
During my cycletrip around Japan this Hotel was a really wonderful location to stay! The owner was very friendly and very helpful. I had a really nice japanese style room in this very clean house. The countryside around was very peaceful and a perfect place to have a quiet night. I can definetely recommend this place.
Don't be set back by Mi Kun's eccentric ways and humour, he's the kindest host anyone could wish for! He's been so helpful, and things would have been a lot different if it wasn't for his extensive knowledge of Yakushima. So even if you came half prepared to visit this beautiful island, he will advise you and make the trip as easy as possible according to your desires...
Miki the host is super-helpful! Loved the tatami room, the beds were SO comfortable (first time for us to sleep in a tatami room and it was amazing). Loved the view from the room too! The bathrooms with the two different tubs are great and came in handy after long days of hiking - so relaxing to be able to soak in them for a bit, almost like an onsen. Great to have ...

We reserved a twin bed room, it was new and very roomy. the hotel is located in the hearts of Kagoshima city, with airport buses and trams nearby. Lots of shops, restaurants and entertainments around.
I sincerely recommend Guest House Suzukaze. It is a nice guesthouse with good owners. I was living in a single room which i can try tatami and the room is very neat. There are share toilet and bathroom and they are clean and tidy too. There is a restaurant at around 5 minutes walk where you can try local Japanese food. I was having bicycle trip and the next day when I ...
Super convenient. Bus stop/city tram back to Kagoshima Chuo JR is just outside main entrance of hotel. There are not much facilities available. Rate was a bit expensive, may be due to heavy booking from Kagoshima marathon runners last week.
Location is perfect, so many restaurants and shopping streets around you and only 5 minutes walk to bus stop which to airport. Hotel is big enough for you to store two big luggages.
We stayed in six different hotels on our most recent travels in Japan and Nanshukan came up tops. The room was a lot larger than all the other places we stayed at. Although a little dated (which is totally OK), it was very clean and comfortable. The Japanese breakfast served was generous, wholesome and absolutely delicious. The one thing that will stick with us, though...

The owner and his family are nice and friendly, he takes us from the airport to the hostel and the bus stop Omachira in the next day morning for free. Breadfast and dinner are provided for us and taste delicious. If you go hiking, you could rent the equitment from them too. Shiratani Unsuikyo Valley is one of the most beautiful place in the world. We have a great t...
The best hotel for those people who are planning to take a ship early in the morning. The ship leaves Naze at 5:40am for Tokunoshima and Okinawa. This hotel located right in front.
I booked ace inn Kagoshima hotel and l have not received any information about hotel lexton Kagoshima, l spent a long time on the street looking, why's that? Can someone tell me what is going on with the name of the hotel, even the hotel staff could not tell me the reason
Simple room set-up, yet very convenient. The shower area is a mini-bathtub, and vending machine in the same floor. There are lots of manga in the reception lounge, too. And the location is very good, close to Tenmonkan-Dori Rail station (not for JR Pass). About 35 minutes walk to Kagoshima-Chuo Station for JR Pass (including the Shinkansen).

never consider to us Agoda, because they didn't scan the quality of restaurant
Reception staff is helpful. Room is compact but has all the basic requirements. Excellent location in the shopping district of Kagoshima; walking distance to the ferry station as well as the train station. Basic breakfast spread provided in the morning. No hotel car park; 1000 yen for overnight parking at hotel linked, elevated public parking.
Had the ocean and view and could see the active volcano. Nice area away from the huddle and bustle part of Kagoshima.
Shops, restaurants nearby, easy access to places that we like. Good location, friendly and helpful staff, will stay again, if we visit Kagoshima again.

The hotel provides shuttle service pick up from the Miyagahama station and free shuttle to Sakura Samd bath , which is very much appreciated by my family.. But you should book in advance. The Japanese fine dining is good. and exquisite. You can even share the dinner if you are a small eater. All hotel rooms face the sea, so the view is great. You should try the tatam...
This is one of the best hotels we have stayed during our 2 weeks Kyushu trip. Superb service & friendly staff who made us feel so at home & made our trip so memorable. Room is spacious with amazing Sakurajima view. Love the onsen with fantastic view especially after a day of walking. Hotel also provides shuttle service to Kagoshima-chuo Station & Tenmonkan so it is ve...
The location is close to Kagoshima Airport, just around 30 minute traveling time. This hotel provide a good environment for relaxing with friends and family. The indoor and outdoor spring refreshes us. The food both dinner and breakfast taste good. A famous farm is so close that can get there on foot in 5 minute. The room is big enough for staying with 3 people and...
We had a wonderful trip to Yoron because of the Pricia staff. Everyone was very helpful and kind. The menu of things to do is very extensive and they set up everything for you. Highly recommend this resort. The food was terrific at Anelia and the Japanese restaurant. Breakfast was a nice start to the day. Thank you!!!
I enjoyed the traditional japanese room with tatami mat, which was comfortable! The evenings after Trekking we're incredible. First because of the food which was amazing & second because of the Onsen. For Dinner there we're everyday different kind of raw & cooked fish, Variation of Tofu & Miso soup and small other Things which changed everyday (i eat no meet, but nor...

This is a brillant hotel. We enjoy the breakfast, open-air hot spring bath, and relaxing lounge much.
Luxury hotels in Kagoshima Prefecture
Hotel local nearby 2 km away from JR and shopping mall; free parking, i think it is the biggest scale hotel in Kagoshima, lots of facilities including children indoor play room and free hot spring. At least 5 restaurants for choices. Brilliant
Brilliant environment and best 一泊二食 i ever tried, certain worth the price. We stayed in the super spacious villa with private outdoor onsen and indoor bath. Dinner was served inside the villa. Our female guests were also very impressed by the male server, who also prepared our beds! According to Female Guest A, this is the 精華 of the whole Kagoshima trip! Excited!
Highly recommended to go to this onsen resort! The food is amazing and I was served in a private room to have meals! looking at the Japanese garden is so relaxing! The onsen is wonderful! The staff is so helpful and welcoming! Love it!
