Comfortable, quiet bungalows”
- We were upgraded to the honeymoon suite, which was quite large with two queen-size beds. There is a dining table and proper fridge, with reasonably priced beverages. - The suite comes with a jacuzzi, but it was not working due to the low water pressure. The kids were still excited as it served as bath tub. - Room comes with large portions of your choice of local breakfast. - Staff are friendly and provide prompt respond to requests. Property is peaceful, even with the pets (dogs, ducks, goat) roaming freely. - Recommended to explore the surrounding Kaliurang area as there is nothing much to do around the hotel. A bit on the minus points: - No telephone in the room; needs to walk to lobby to ask for services or information - Don’t expect too much from the small swimming pool.

Great services hotel with affordable price”
i came there with my big family. and its a nice holiday. in some place of this hotel is not clean enough but its still good. i suggest if you want to visit the city, yogyakarta, and kaliurang with its merapi, this place its in the middle between them.but, if you dont have a car you find that this hotel far enough, especially from the city. but for me and my family, we really bored with city atmosphere, to stay and visit kaliurang and merapi, this hotel is awesome.especially, if you are stay in this hotel with your couple. the staff is good and so friendly, if i go to yogya again, i think i will spend another night at this hotel.

Really lovely hotel with one of the best views”
This place was hard to find initially as it is located away from the city area of Jogja. But when we got there, we were amazed at how big and spacious the room was. It was more like a suite with the most wonderful views of Mt Merapi. You just step outside and there in all its glory is Indonesia's most active volcano. The weather in this area is chilly and the air-con is not needed especially during the night when temperatures drop to almost 10 degrees. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. If you are here for honeymoon or just wants to rekindle that spark, this place would do wonders. The weather, the room, the staff and everything else is just perfect. However, do note that it will take almost 45mins if you need to get to the city area. But don't worry, along Kaliurang itself, there are many wonderful restaurants / warung.

Beautiful hotel but very far from anywhere!”
We were shocked that this place was so cheap! It felt like a 5 star hotel! We had our own small house, which was clean and very comfortable and you can even choose what time and where they deliver a big breakfast for you! Whilst the hotel itself is beautiful, you shouldn't stay there if you want to explore Yogyakarta itself and see the sights of the area, as it's 20km from the city! If you want peace and beautiful surroundings you must try this hotel!

Hotel is beautiful, very comfortable to rest or vacation. Beautiful scenery and the air is still very fresh. Spacious hotel rooms, with complete facilities. Staff very polite and very helpful guests. Unfortunately the location is quite far from downtown Yogyakarta. But for this hotel is ideal beristitrahat.

Amazingly friendly service, great experience”
We had an outstanding stay, with every staff member going to great lengths to make us happy. Every morning they delivered a large and delicious breakfast to our room. We sometimes ordered room service which was always brought quickly and was reasonably priced. Our room was beautiful with huge windows letting in the sun and a big couch to relax on. We slept well on the comfortable bed. The only downside is the location, which is a bit far out of town. However, it's a great spot to use if you plan to visit the volcano Merapi, and there is a free shuttle you can use to get in to the city. Considering the price we paid, this was definitely the best value of any hotel we have stayed at in Indonesia.

Fantastic service and great hotel”
i arrived quite late at the airport and was collected by a friendly driver who drove me to the hotel around 30 minutes or so away. the hotel is quirky in a good way. the rooms are very, very comfortable and the staff have thought of many things to make staying there even better. i was welcomed by a plate of food (sticky rice jadah, tempeh and sweet wajik. this was so thoughtful and i wolfed it down. the staff, in particular lusia are helpful, polite and friendly. often i find that people are polite, but little else. i had slightly noisy neighbours and was moved to a much larger room without any fuss when i enquired. there is a free shuttle to and from the city centre as the hotel is about 30 minutes out of town, but you get more space and a swimming pool.

Fantastic ambiance”
I had stayed in quite a few basic places before this, so it felt like luxury! ;) It is quite an unusual layout for a hotel, not beautiful by any means, but really good value and quality. The rooms are well thought out and great quality. I was welcomed by the manageress and even found a lovely plate of food in my room which I was really grateful for at 11pm when I arrived. I changed room after the first night as my neighbours were a bit noisy. This was absolutely no problem with the hotel and they helped move my bags. I ended up with a suite for the rest of my stay. The hotel has a small swimming pool, I only used it once when I found myself at the hotel before I departed. I mostly went out and the free shuttle service was really useful to take me to central Yogyakarta - about 15 minute drive away.

Nice country air but difficult to access w/o car”
Hotel itself was fine but location is remote in highlands near Merapi so difficult to access w/o car. The actual hotel name displayed was its old name "Sewu Padi" so we missed it and had to turn back and call for directions. The cool country air was very refreshing and rooms were very big. We were upgraded to Junior suite which had a big bedroom wx 2 king beds, a separate dining area where our breakfast was served. Hotel has free shuttle to town daily.

Cheap yet a very good value hotel with great food.”
Located close to Mt. Merapi and 45min from the city of Yogyakarta. The hotel doesn`t look that inviting from the street, but once you enter, you will be surprised. Nice and spacious rooms, good service and cheap and good food. The breakfast was also very nice prepared and tasty.

Need improvement”
The hotel was recently took over by Raffles Holiday, supposed to be a very good hotel. The room and environment are good, but the management are poor. With a little more of good management, it can be a better hotel. However, though our stay at Raffles Jogja wasn't too enjoyable, but I would like to highlight the hotel staff. They are very polite, and even though they messed up our stay, they tried their best to solve our problem.

Friendly Service”
The hotel location is convenient with nice cool fresh air. However I have never thought that the hotel room was really spacious but yet clean. Beside the food variety prepared for our breakfast and dinner have been really great and nice, along with their friendly service. The room rate was also not expensive.

Sweet honeymoon room but could't use the bathtub”
Picked the hotel because we wanted to try a nice place up in the mountain area of Jogja. We booked the family room but it was too big for two of us and we were then offered to upgrade to honeymoon suite. The room was nice and clean but unfortunately the bathtub didn't work and i was too tired to ask the room service to fix it. Location is a bit far up but easy to find, so you need to rent a car and a driver to get you there. Breakfast was massive, you can bring some for your lunch.

Nice Hotel but needed Good Maintenance”
this hotel has a good service with friendly people, it has a nice environment, nice view, nice air, cool, warm, or i say a nice place to be your second home, but, there is a thing i dont like is this hotel need a good maintenance for they own facility, like swimming pool or garden. and one more thing, you should paid attention to your pet, its sad to see how miserable you forgot your fish and dog

First impressions are not always correct”
We had not visited the Kaliurang area before so were not sure what to expect.The district has an air of faded semi grandeur from the time when it was a Dutch weekend retreat with not a lot of development since then.I guess the eruptions of Mount Merapi have contributed to that as well.Our hotel was easy to find and the staff were friendly.We had pre-booked the 2 bedroom bungalow which was a bit of a disappointment because it was located close to the main road which was quite noisy but mainly because there was NO shower or bath.The only way to get wet was to pour a bucket of cold water over yourself!After a chat to the receptionist she quite happily moved us to a very nice newish room at the back of the property with plenty of room and a good bathroom with hot water.Breakfasts were fine with only Indonesian dishes but they were plentiful and tasty. The hotel is good value for money but don't expect 5 star.

excellent place with great relaxing surrounding”
we had a great time while staying in there. nice view and very relax quiet and cool environtment. a little dissapointed with the shape of the pool but that can be covered by the massive varieties of breakfast they sent to your room just a minute after you opened the door in the morning. excellent staff , they didnt hesitate to get you ciggy in the middle of the night and not over charged it. they have shuttle car to take u to the city which is really helpful. the bottom line .. excellent hotel and worth the money. we'd love to stay thereagain when we come back to jogya.
