I had an experience like in a horror movie. I saw on booking sites that the room was new, reasonably priced, and located near the beach, so I booked it without checking the reviews. As soon as I stepped into the hotel, the lobby was large and dark, smelling of cinnamon, which could seem off-putting to someone unaccustomed. Then I entered the elevator. The elevator was old and small, with the operation sound creaking and then stopping, and the doors slowly opening like in horror films. To make matters worse, when the elevator doors opened, I looked straight out into a pitch-black hallway, where the lights were motion-activated and would flicker on as you walked past. Initially, I planned to stay for three nights. On the first night: I left the lights on all night to sleep because I was afraid being alone. I couldn’t sleep well the whole night due to sounds like the air conditioning starting and stopping, along with the sound of the water pump. There were also the clicking sounds from the motion-sensitive hallway lights. After one night, I decided to reduce my stay to just two nights. On the second night: At 10 PM in my room, I kept hearing those sounds, so I called the reception to ask for a smaller room, without any windows. You changed my room to a lower floor. That night, I also left the light on while I slept but kept hearing the clicking sounds and the flushing sounds from the toilet. I just hoped the dawn would come quickly. On the last day, after showering and packing my things into the suitcase, I noticed water gently flowing from the showerhead. I went in to check, turned everything off, then stepped out for a minute, and the water started dripping again. I didn't think much of it since I planned to check out at 6 PM, just enduring a bit. At 4 PM, I was lying on the bed when suddenly the lights turned off and then on again. Two minutes later, the lights turned off again and then back on, and this time there was a knocking sound on the door. Terrified, I went downstairs and checked out immediately. I was truly scared, which is why I wrote a long review about this horror story of my life. Moreover, when I took a grab ride, I talked and shared with the driver about my experience. He said that several customers had also recounted similar stories about that hotel. I am very grateful for the reception staff there who were very supportive. I know that the hotel has made repairs to the room and has added wooden panels to the elevator to modernize things, but the hotel needs to change much more so that customers do not experience situations like mine.
