Nice big room for a good price right in the action”

      1. Spacious room with big window and natural light for a decent price 2. Location for the Malate/Ermita nightlife 3. Free wireless throughout the hotel

Stayed at the Pearl Garden for 2 nights - basically a weekend in the nightlife district of Malate/Ermita. The whole area is a dump and the Pearl Garden is surrounded by KTV's, hostess bars, and Korean restuarants. Not a problem on this particular visit, but I certainly wouldn't choose to stay in Malate if I had the wife and kiddies in tow. Plenty of 24 hour dining choices and just a 5 minute walk to the big Robinson's Mall to kill a few sober hours in the daytime. Relatively painless cab ride to and from the airport. My room was certainly not an example of minimalist chic, but is WAS clean, plenty spacious with a big comfortable bed, separate bathtub and shower, writing desk and a cushy lounge chair - and even a view of Manila Harbor. The free wireless in the room would occasionally drop out, but was more than fast enough for live streaming of sports over the internet. One thing which I particularly liked was that the old-fashioned wall-mounted AC, while a bit noisy, was under the window and therefore not positioned where it was blowing cold air over the bed all night. Nothing worse than waking up with a runny nose and a sore throat in the tropics because of poorly positioned AC vents.

      Good choice”

      Clean room with wooden floor
      High deposit

The Pearl Garden Hotel Manila is a good mid range choice for a reasonable price. The location in Adriatico street is pretty good, as well for single traveler as for couples or families. Try to get a room with bay view otherwise you will just see a dinky backyard. You have to pay a deposit of 2000 pesos which is a little bit much. The rooms have a wooden floor (no musty carpets) which was a big plus for us. Over all the best choice we made in Manila up to now.

      Manila bargain”

      location, rooms, service.

This hotel on Adriatico Street Malate is worth more stars than its given, particularly if you also get it at a bargain price from Agoda. It unfortunaly is often booked out and there is every reason why it should be. Spacious rooms with enourmous bed, excellent room service and free wifi. One block away from Robinson's Mall and a block from Cafe Adriatico, a Manila institution. Just around the corner from Tai Yuan Chinese restaurant, the best I have found so far, good barber and money changer opposite. The area is full of good eateries and close enought to Manila Bay to benefit from the cooling effect of the sea. Good place to stay and still be in the rough and tumble of Manila life. I would rather not review this hotel as I prefer there to be last minute rooms available.

      Thoroughly recommended”

      Professional, courteous staff; gorgeous room (I had an executive suite - standard rooms are MUCH smaller); everything worked;
While there's plenty of couple-friendly nightlife spreading in all directions, you should be aware that there ARE a number of fairly bars nearby, too. But unless you're particularly offended by redlight district.

I stayed my first two nights in the Philippines at the Pearl Garden and enjoyed every moment of it. The staff were fantastic: pleasant, attentive and accommodating; the 8th floor Executive Suite room was enormous and had a view out to Manila Bay a couple of blocks away; and the Malate area had decent-enough places to eat, drink and enjoy some live music.

      The biggest 3 star hotel!”

Location: Great! 5 mins walk to Robinson mall. 15 mins taxi drive to MOA by paying less than 100piso with no traffic jam. Room: Good, just a air-con is so cold! Wifi: Very good. But I guess just for some room. My room is 810. I can even see the wireless router installed on the wall from the corridor. 2/F restaurant: Divided smoking zone. But no in breakfast time. Front desk: Service excellent. Always smile and able to communicate by English. Good english! Guards: Professional. Clean.
Breakfast: Is come with the package. But is not too good. 6 choices for hot dish including fried egg..etc. 3 types of fruit and never change the choice. But. I accepted it. Taxi: In front of the hotel, there are some Taxi with green and white color which so called hotel Taxi, can hire but need to pay 50piso extra. I tried once. but found the cockroach inside the taxi. So I give up!

Summary: Pearl Garden is quite a good hotel as the location and the price. I experienced the Taxi's driver doesn't know where is the hotel. So I told him "Pan Pacific Hotel". Coz the Pan Pacific hotel is just opposite of Pearl Garden. The bed is excellent. I think is a king size bad which can fit in 4 people sleep together. The bed is so huge! I walked down once at night time to buy something from 7-eleven just 1 mins walk, down to the corner which is so convenience. But also a night Bar is just near by. We spent a lot of time inside the hotel room coz the cable discovery channel is amazing! Even more than "Now TV" or "I-Cable". Who ever read this massage, meaning that you have a little idea want to stay with Pearl Garden. Hoping i can help! Happy staying Pearl Garden Hotel.

      Pearl Garden a gem”

Friendly and helpful counter staff, free wifi in rooms without additional costs), courteous hotel staff wherever, comfortable renovated rooms, excellent location.

Pearl Garden Hotel has a host of very friendly and helpful staff. The location is simply the best. Rooms are clean and new. Beds are comfortable and mattress in good condition. Though the rooms are not very large it is cozy. Wifi (wireless internet) is free in rooms while nearby hotels would require you to buy a wifi card. Breakfast is not great, with a small spread. Hotel location is the best, very convenient to Robinson Place, a very large new shopping mall. 10 mins walk to Petro Gil the LRT station Line 1. Good choice if budget permits.

Another great stay at the Pearl Garden”

Fast internet, attentive staff and located near great restaurants

This was my fifth or sixth time staying at the Pearl Garden. I always chose this hotel because it's the best value for your money. The rooms are spacious and the hotel itself is located near Robinson's Mall and a lot of great restaurants. If I had to make a complaint, I would say the rooms are too dark. Even with all the bed lamps and desk lamps, the room always feels too dark. Need more pillows as well. I stayed at a room with twin beds and the beds only had one pillow each. I had to ask for extra pillows which I had to sign for. Last complaint, I wish this hotel was able to expand. I tried to book a room this weekend but it's all booked up! Highly recommended!

great hotel, great service, convenient cafe”

location, staff, attached cafe, great wi-fi

i stayed here my first night in manila. the first impression is that the area is kind of suspect. true. malate is not as clean or fancy as makati. if you're staying here it's for the bars, mall, or location. the staff was super friendly and helpful. the room was exceptionally clean. the wi-fi was very good. the breakfast was good. i'm a vegetarian so i can't comment on the chicken and pork etc..... this place is a great value. i stayed here on my way back through manila, before my flight the next morning. the attached cafe is excellent. enjoyed the wedge fries, cheesecake, smoothie, and sandwiches. overall a very nice hotel for a good price.

      Good Quality Hotel”

Good location, nice stay, good price-quality.
-Rooms on the street side are a bit noisy. - If you arrive too late for breakfast, there will nothing left.

We stayed for one night at the Pearl Garden Hotel and really enjoyed it. The location is very convenient, especially if you want to visit the old part, Intramurros. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was very good. We got a Junior Suite: Big room, good facilities, only negative point is the noise from the street (especially bars) but I guess it would have been better if we had asked for a room on the other side of the hotel.

Manila Pearl Garden Hotel's Executive Suite”

Huge and comfortable King Size bed, bath tub and shower available separately (not combined), LCD tv, dark curtains to block out bright sunlight, air-condition was just right (not too cold), excellent service and courteous staff, 7E just 2 doors away, yellow lighting ( i look good under yellow light.. hehe) and utmost privacy.
only one - noisy traffic below (soundproofing the rooms?)

I absolutely loved my stay in Pearl Garden Hotel's Executive Suite. I was very happy with the room and the amenities available. The aircond was not too cold and the lighting was nice as it was yellow instead of the usual bright white, so it gave a nice romantic ambience. I would highly recommend it for couples. The close proximity of 7E nearby makes it easier for a quick drop in for drinks or snacks. I also loved the fact that it was very near to Robinson's shopping mall and the old baywalk, within walking distance of 10 mins. Staff are very polite and you are assured of your privacy. The only thing I didn't like was the noise of traffic and car alarms going off intermittently and the constant honking. Perhaps the hotel could get thicker windows to block out the noise?

Very Pleasant Stay at Pearl Garden”

Room was clean, comfortable and attractive, comparing favorably with mid-range US chain hotels.
Breakfast was OK, but for those looking for unambiguously safe (i.e. cooked and piping hot) and healthy (i.e. low-fat) options, there are few choices in their buffet (but enough to keep you from starving). Also, the doorman needs to better assist guests in finding honest taxis. When leaving the hotel, I asked the doorman to call a taxi. First taxi he called for me seemed OK, but after I got in, the driver claimed he had a "broken meter." After much strenuous insistence, the driver let me out a few blocks down the road (thank goodness I hadn't put my bags in the trunk). I walked back to the hotel, asked the doorman to call me an HONEST meter taxi. So he flagged down another taxi, talked to the driver briefly, and assured me this was a good taxi. And so it seemed, until I arrived at the airport, and it became clear that the driver had somehow rigged his meter to show 700 pesos, rather than the usual 250 peso fare (upon arguing, the driver quickly caved and accepted 250 pesos, which leads me to believe even that was too high a fare). So, I am deeply disappointed that the doorman doesn't know how to (or doesn't care to) find an even somewhat reputable meter cab for his customers.

As a Manila first-timer, was extremely impressed by this hotel. Service at the front desk was quick, professional, and hassle-free. All areas of the hotel were clean, modern, and attractive. The room itself was roomy, air-conditioned, with fridge, well-lit desk, and large hang-up wardrobe (with interior light). The bathroom was exceptional, as it was quite large, well stocked with guest amenities (soap, shampoo, toothbrushes/toothpaste, etc) and featured both a bathtub AND a shower stall. Excellent WiFi coverage in the room. Housekeeping service was excellent and unobtrusive (I slept in late, but never had the obnoxious "housekeeping!" knock on the door all too common in US facilities). Security was excellent, with an armed guard watching the front door at all times; street immediately outside the hotel seemed safe enough to walk around at all hours, though puritanical American families with impressionable children might be offended (massage places and clubs with suggestively-clad female touts are adjacent to the hotel). I would give this hotel my highest recommendation for travelers looking for reasonably priced accommodation in Manila.

      good hotel”

      good buffet,clean rooms, friendly staff

hotel is great and clean, staff is very friendly, the breakfast is good with some variety. when you need to take a cab, be careful with the drivers, they like to overcharge, always have them turn the meter on.There are some beggars around in the neighborhood especially when you are walking to the nearby Robinson mall, (10 minutes walk). All together my fiance and I had a great time there and enjoyed our stay at the pearl garden hotel, thank you all very much

good standard, location, facilities and service”

      a bit overpriced

this is one notch above the budget group of hotels in malate and you pay a bit more for it. the location is perfect - half way between robinsons mall and the best part of malate nightlife each 200m in opposite directions. it is opposite the 5* pan pacific with all its facilities and opposite adriatico. good taxi access and walking distance to waterfront. the rooms are typical, with flat screen tvs, security box, minibar, comfortable beds and efficient aircon. the restaurant - if you need it with all the facilities and alternatives nearby - is above average, but it has a very good coffee bar in the lobby which is like a mini-starbucks with better food and less choice of drinks. there is a good free wifi throughout and business facilities. this makes the place a very good choice for business and vacation ... at a higher standard than the general area average. but even so, having said that, the hotel is about 15% overpriced. this hotel is exceptional for the area in that it does have all the facilities whereas competitors all fall down on 2 or 3 of the above in different combinations. my view is that the pearl lane hotel (nearby and in same group)is a third cheaper and almost as good and therefore better value.

      Excellent hotel, great location”

Nice rooms, bathrooms with shower cubicle almost like 5Star hotel standard, very nice restaurant too and very rich breakfast buffet

it's the 4th or 5th time i managed to book myself in pearl garden hotel, which is my preferred hotel when i have to go to manila. it's location only walking distance from ermita robinson's mall and with many restaurants all around is a great asset. in the same road and on the same side of adriatico street and situated very near robinson's mall is the famous ka freddie's reataurant where freddie aguilar is performing on fridays, saturdays and mondays nights, but where they also serve excellent food.

      Pearl Garden ”

      close to malls and dining
      non observed

This hotel was very nice, the room was large and spacious as was the bathroom, liked that the bathroom had a separate stand up shower and bathtub too. The bed was large king size and very comfortable, the internet connection as complementry and nice. The breakfast buffett was also very nice and have a good selection of food and assorted fruits. I also have a meal for lunch and the stead was excellent and very large. This hotel was close to many other nice reataurants and all the night life in malate that it had to offer was very nice too and also close to the Robinson mall. I would stay at this hotel again when i travel to manila

      great location, good standard”

location, service, restaurant, lobby coffee bar, and free wifi

This is a good standard budget hotel in a great location. The location is excellent being very easy walking distance to Robinsons Plaza, Adriatico Square, the extensive nightlife of Malate and the seafront of Roxas Boulevard. Plenty of Taxis and Pedicabs - not bad for the airport and not to bad for Makati. The hotel itself is better than almost all equivalent budget hotels. The restaurant is better than equivalents in the Philippines and they have a starbucks style coffee shop in the lobby. The rooms are what you expect at this price and for the country. But there is free wifi throughout the hotel and safety boxes in the rooms and the beds are OK and the aircon works .... Its quite fully priced though and you can get a nearly as good standard at PHP 2100- 2500 per night locally. This one is circa. But if you are starnger or first time Philippines and dont want a 5* International hotel, then this is the one to choose.
