I visited Peace house Showa for solo travel. They are using normal Japanese house to the guesthouse. You can feel and enjoy the atmosphere like home. The location is easy to access many visiting spots. And also from the airport, you don't need to transfer. The station is not really close, it took 4 mins to Metro station so far good, but to the JR station, you need around 10 mins. Actually the house is quite old (at least 30 yrs passed I guess), but still maintaing cleaness with fresh linens. Finally, Staffs were very friendly so even if you travel alone, you won't be lonely. I'm going to choose this guesthouse when I visit Osaka again, unless I travel with my parents.

Hi, I would like to thanks every staff who had help me during my trip. It was nice to meet y’all. I forgot my vallet and Sebastian (mexican staff) return for me! Also thanks to David, Ayesha and Nee!! Who have talk to me a lot ❤️. FYI. The place is located near to Nishinari ward which is the most dangerous area in Japan😂 BUT...!! still safer more than all area of your countries! plus I’ve been here several times (4~5times) So I can guarantee Peace House Showa is very safe even midnight or later than that!!

Cons Staff members 1. Lily is the worst staff member I’ve ever encountered. She’s had many complaints and I have yet to understand why this PROBLEM hasn’t been rectified. I’ve never seen a staff member TAKE/HIDE amenities from guests before solely because SHE has a personal issue. Also she’s either very racially insensitive or just slow with communication skills; you don’t just walk up to someone and say “Hey, why do black people use this word, or make music like this, why do black people kill each other?” without FIRST confirming someone is willing to have such a conversation. 2. Junya. Lily’s presence has intensified his level of disrespect for guests, seeing he has many complaints. He locked the tv system on mute at Lily’s PERSONAL request yet fails to realize we can hear him watching pornography on his phone/laptop after 11pm. Big time hypocrite. I love Peace House Showa but as long as Lily is a staff member I’ll take my business elsewhere...just as many guests/staff have done

What Peace House is.”
Peace House Showa had some bug problems (now cured). They informed me at least a week earlier and it was fine. So the review would be regarding another associates of this Peace House. We booked a room of 4 futon that can be laid on floor spaciously (according to picture) but we were moved to a rather smaller room. We booked for a private room and not beds in dorm. The bathroom that was attached to this 'room' of ours was allowed to be used by other guests. That was odd, security? This was a family trip but I am familiar with the hostel spirit. The peace house staff were also traveller working abroad and inchange they get free loading. Most of the guests were also staff and they had already establish their own close friends. It needed some effort to get to know them, not all though. Honestly if I didn't get moved, maybe the ambience would be different. But I wouldn't know. Overall, it was clean and safe. The kitchen is also very helpful. The fridge need some organizing though.

Cheap accommodation in Osaka and close to Doubutsuen Mae station on the red line(Midosuji Line), which connects directly to major stations such as Umeda, Shinsaibashi, and Namba. The staff is friendly, and all the facilities are here, such as a kitchen with utensils( hot water machine, free coffee, and tea) hairdryer after a shower, washing machine but unfortunately no dryer for clothes. The facility is run by volunteers. Suitable for solo travelers who are searching for cheap shared houses. However, if you want a place which is more spacious then probably this place won't work for you as the roads are narrow and the area seems quite an old town type. The rooms can be noisy, especially when someone else is talking loudly in other rooms and if you want a peaceful sleep. Other people come late night into rooms, close and open the door continuously because this is a shared house dormitory type accommodation, which can be disturbing.

I stayed 3 weeks. The place was very comfy, it is in a small japanese house. It feels more like a home than a hostel an the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also the price is very good and the area is also interesting though a bit rundown. I would definitely come back here if I come back to Osaka. Cheers to all the staff there and thanks for making my stay so nice. - William

Affordable traditional japanese room ”
Great place to stay in osaka as your base. The owner is very hospitable and even gave us an origami when we checked out. Traditional style of hotel in modern times (hostel type). Recommended to everyone who wants affordable and awesome japanese experience. They even have netflix and free use of laptop in their lobby. Location is quite near the train station and convenience store.

Value for Money, Near the station”
It is located 10 minutes walk from the station. it is quite hard to find even when you use google map since it is in the inner part of the neighborhood specially at night. the staff were accommodating and helpful. the room is the typical japanese type but the beddings is not that great. the room has the toilet outside and the shower room downstairs. you can use the kitchen, as well as stay at the receiving area, the wifi is good. there are markets near the hostel, as well as restaurants and the tennoji park. overall the place is good and and you get what you paid for.

I have enjoyed staying here. Hostel is clean,kitchen has everything you need to cook. Staff is very friendly. 2 Polish girls were very friendly when they checked me in. Living room has good vibes and you can play a lot of games over there. I would highly recommend this place. Next time coming back I will book this place again.

If u are a tourist who wants to enjoy a high level of equipments and services, this place would not fit u. It is a very good place for backpacker with the low fees and a lot care. The place is hard to find for the first time but easy to remember. Free kitchen with basic things, free talk with people from all over the world and a nice place for rest and sleep. Personally, I love the memory it left me

I wasn't expecting much staying here knowing it was only for a couple of days. However I was not expecting the bunks to feel like they were made from a high school shop class. anytime that I moved the whole thing would shake and it thought it would fall apart. I ended up leaving early and booking another place for the rest of my nights in Osaka.

Most of the staffs are really friendly, except for the Japanese staff here. He is extremely rude to the guests with no respect to the guests at all. It was a nice stay there. I met friendly staff who taught me the transport to different places in kansai, which is really highly appreciated. Wifi is free, the bathrooms are always ready to use. The kitchen is big with free drinks provided! Easy access from the hostel to the major sightseeing spots!
