Beautiful rooms, gorgeous garden, and great staff”
LOCATION The hotel is located in a residential area in the southern part of Yogyakarta. It is 10 minutes by cab / ojek (motorbike) or 40 minutes on foot from the city centre. The location was perfect for me as I was looking for a quiet place to relax. There are convenience stores / supermarkets nearby for quick grocery refills. ROOM I stayed in a superior room on the 2nd floor. The view from my balcony was perfect – into rice paddies, and overlooking a pool with geese and swans. The room has 2 twin beds, AC, a TV. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The washroom is HUGE, with a bathtub and a Western style flushing toilet. I am very happy with the cleanliness and tidiness of the room and washroom. HOTEL INFO The hotel has only 5 rooms – all of which are very nice. I believe they’re building 2 more rooms. The hotel is part of this huge piece of land owned by Mr. and Mrs. Pan. Their house (with their children) is in the same complex. There is also a fully equipped restaurant. The house of Mr. Pan, the hotel rooms, and the restaurant, all face a beautiful garden, complete with birds and mango trees. There is free wifi in the garden. The garden is very beautiful and very relaxing! STAFF This is the best part. The hotel staffers are absolutely wonderful! I arrived at 7am and they checked me in immediately. They provided assistance to book tours for me. I needed to go to the city centre and asked about ordering a taxi. The gardener just jumped up and said he could just drop me off on his motorbike, not a problem, and all for free. Once he drooped me off, he asked me if I needed him to pick me up again later at night. Mr. and Mrs. Pan are also very kind-hearted people. They’re so wonderful to chat with. The entire time, I felt like I was part of a big family while I was there. I would highly recommend this place!

Great Hotel ! Great Room and Ambience !”
i spend 2 nights in pan family hotel, located in taman siswa st. i driving from malang for app. 9 hours. and pan family really give me a new energy to refresh my exhausted mind. they even lend me their computer for 6 hours, i need it to recover the data from my corrupted memory card. thanks god and praise the staff ! the room. the room is clean, neat, huge and have a very nice smell, it's like you've rent your own studio apartment. the backside of my room is a fish pond, and no doubt there's a lot of mosquitoes. but the staff offer a mosquitoes killer and it's working :) ! one thing that they should considered about is the air cond, it's cold but not too powerful. but it's not a big problem anyway. the breakfast. the offer us a traditional fried rice or gudeg rice, both taste good! i recommend you their gudeg, they have less sweet taste than the other gudeg. last word. i recommend you this hotel ! i'll be back if i come to jogja.

Pan Family hotel is a lovely small hotel with only 5 rooms. the small size and warm welcome of the staff make you feel immediately at ease / at home! Rooms are clean and spacious with all necessary amenities. location is good, not far from main city attractions. most importantly, the staff is amazing. they are extremely friendly and helpful and will guide you through your journey. will definitely recommend this hotel!

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in”
Pan Family Hotel is a charming place to spend your holiday in. The poetic beauty of the paddy fields overlooking the hotel, the fish pond and a few ducks and geese soothe your soul. The staff are extremely helpful. I had long chats with the head staff. the owner's daughter, who looks after the hotel, was extremely welcoming and made us (my wife and I) feel at home. She's one of the best hosts I've ever come across. The food they served for breakfast was simply scrumptious and every day we had different dishes. It was a memorable stay. Spick-and-span rooms and fragrant bath towels are regular features of the hotel. It was a real find.

Authentic Javanese hotel with familiar athmosphere”
I have spent there a lovely couple of days as a European solo traveller. The hotel is slightly outside of the city centre but close to a major road so that it's easy to get around. You can catch a taxi or hire a bike/scooter there, this latter is a fun experience. The rice-field view from the upper rooms (and balcony) is superb but bring insect repellent as mosquitos thrive in the standing waters. This is less of an issue if you take the superior, air-conditioned room since then you don't have to open the windows in the evening. They offer very good traditional breakfast with rice, and you can eat very nicely in the evenings in their own restaurant in the garden. If you prefer variety, the street outside is full of eateries offering various Indonesian specialities. The best thing about this place though is the warm, familial environment: it is run by a very kind and friendly family who make you feel truly welcome. Thank you for the perfect stay! ps. Beware that a mosque is near and might wake you up early. If you are sensitive to sounds, better bring ear-plugs. I didn't mind, it gives you a very authentic local experience.

amazing hotel”
This hotel is superb..with good location, 10 minutes drives to the city center, and lot of good restaurant nearby. or you can rent a bike to go to malioboro.. The hotel staff and the owner were really friendly, provide you with good information about the city. The room was super clean with good smell, and comfy bed. The standard room was better, because I like the wood furniture and the interior. The breakfast was OK. You can park your car easily in front of you room. I will definitely come back

Great hospitality”
We had a great time staying at the hotel. One of the staff lent us his personal cellphone charger for 5 days because our charger wasn't working that time. You can also book a car rental service with them at a reasonable rate. I'll highly recommend Pan Family to my friends.

A very lovely hotel”
We were there during the Mount Kelud eruption and ended up extending our stay for one more night. It was a good decision. The staffs are great, friendly, and helpful. The foods were yummy especially the Tek tek fried noodles. We love the fish pond at the back of our room and also the big bathroom. Was a very nice stay and definitely going back whenever we visit Yogyakarta.

great hideout, nice enviroment”
very cool hideout from the busy town center not walking distance from Malioboro nice if you like to walk whole day and chill out at the hotel end of the day even spotted fireflies behind the hotel . clean air and water shower with poor flow though if you like to stay around happening area.... not the best place hotel clean with good beds breakfast is set menu - all 3 days fried rice with chicken - but nice. with unlimited flow of tea, coffee and bread- expect the quality better than the price you pay. nearby food stalls walking distance and supermarket also traditional massage parlour. reflexology could be extremely paiful though

The hotel is located near the center of the city, it was solid with Javanese culture (door, decorations), and the room is really clean, the bed is very huge. I stayed with my family of 3 children, and it fitted just fine. Too bad there is no wifi in room.

Nice budget hotel, calm location”
We enjoyed our stay in this budget hotel, it had basic, spacious and clean rooms with a lovely balcony and nice view, removed 100 m from the main road so quite peaceful and nice considering your in a city. Its only ~1.5 USD worth of tax from the center of city, so we had no problem getting there and around and enjoyed being able to rest in the evenings.

Great stay, more of a family vacation home ”
This is more of a family vacation home than a hotel. Which made our stay even lovelier. The staff were all very helpful. Granted their English is limited but they still went out of their usual way to assist us. For the price, it's superb. Came with homemade breakfast too, right at the courtyard of the hotel.

A very nice hotel!”
Our room is clean, breakfast is big and nice, and the hotel itself is quite conveniently located - a becak ride to Kraton costs around Rp (which is around US$0.5). It may not be in the very heart of the city but we got to see the local life and stay in a quieter environment with fresher air. The staff are friendly and helpful.
