Jeonju's specialties include bibimbap (assorted vegetables and rice) and kongnameul gukbap (bean sprout soup). The main attraction is the Hanok Village-- an area of the city with traditional "Hanok" buildings and relics of the Joseon Dynasty, as well as an old Catholic Cathedral. There are hiking trails leading into the surrounding mountains. Across from the village, on the second floor of Nambu Market is the vibrant Real New Town, a cooperative of cafes, restaurants (even Mexican!) Korea's best cocktail bar, boutiques. . . all run by young entrepreneurs. They often host concerts and events and the vibe is good. Jeonju hosts numerous festivals, including an International Film Festival every spring when the atmosphere of the city is cranked up. Wansan Sports Park in the south-west also has a huge covered rock-climbing wall! You can stay in a Hanok guesthouse in the Hanok Village, but there are lots of accommodation options for all budgets.

Just looking bewildered and confused, and someone notices and tries to help! The food is out of this world - Jeonju known as the heart of Korean cuisine lives up to its billing and more! The cultural and historical offerings are exceptional, as well as shopping! I am definitely planning a return visit!

There are lots of parks and outdoor gyms. You can stroll trough Jeonju on the footpath along the river. Get the 970 bus to the mountains and eat in the restaurant there. Go early it gets busy, but the food is all fresh.You can buy some to take home from the farmers market below the restaurant. The strawberries were delicious. Try the local dishes, they are very good.

The Cinema Street area is packed with food and shopping that could be enjoyed year round. Nearby Hanok Village gives a look into the historical culture of Korea. Learning simple Korean phrases will help you in communicating with taxi drivers and shop workers. Many of the workers at JIFF were university students who had English skills, but it still would be nice to learn some basics of the language.

I recommend it if you travel in group because it’s quite too much for couples and the price is expensive), 떡갈비 (grilled minced marinated beef, you wrap it with kimchi, fermented raddish and other Korean side dishes in a leaf of lettuce) and its 임실치즈 (Its plain yogurt is delicious)

Look down small alley ways for some wonderful tea houses.

However, love the early mornings in Jeonju Hanok Village where the tourists had yet to invade and you see the locals going about doing their daily stuff (such as being a volunteer ensuring the safety of the children going to school)
