Fantastic Location , between old and new town and 3 minutes walk to Train Station”
It is a boutique hotel. Loves the design and feel. The location could not be any better. Walking distance to anywhere you would want to visit in Edinburgh. The only slight inconvenience is there is many steps in the corridor leading to your room, i guess it is to mitigate building on a slope. Overall, highly recommended.

Noisy”
Location is nice, room is Spartan. I’m in room 721 and it’s top floor and overlooks a very noisy alleyway with people shouting until very late at night. Definitely don’t recommend, find somewhere quieter. And it was expensive!

Modern Hotel in Great location but no Twin Rooms”
Hotel was modern and clean and rooms were spacious. The stay was let down by two issues: 1) Before booking I checked that twin rooms were available by phoning the hotel directly, when we arrived we had a double room and were told Motel One do not do twin rooms, at this point t it was too late to change hotels. 2) our room had good view but was situated directly above the hotel bar, this meant music could be heard playing 24/7, this is not good for light sleepers who should request a higher floor. This was a real issue for my companion who had trouble sleeping the entire stay.

One of the better hotel I have stayed in Europe. Close to Edinburgh Waverley train station and Royal Mile. Size of room is big and water pressure in shower is strong. However, basin in bathroom is very small.

Our first time in Edinburgh and though we had to take a train to the Motel and stop and ask for directions, we made it and it was very nice.

Hotel was very nice but the room view was of a brick wall with scaffolding, when I had asked for a view if possible. Unsure if this was because it was just me and my young daughter, but we were at the furthest point from reception, no view and it was a bit noisy at night time with arguments and noisy groups audible in the night

The Royal Mile is just around the corner which takes you to the Castle one direction and the Palace the other with so much to see and do in between. We only had one day in Edinburgh and so glad we chose Motel One for our stay!

The hotel overall was very good, the staff was very helpful and always smiling and cheerful. The location was prime, waverly train station is just opposite, taxi stand is also there in front of the hotel. Castle is nearby, all the major roads like royal mile, princess street are just few minutes from the hotel. Breakfast was good, room was cleaned daily. Overall very nice hotel with a very perfect location.
