Nice hotel, a good base for Yogyakarta”
We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others. There are two breakfast options - the Indonesian choice is good and a nice size, but we were a bit disappointed with the Western option - just two slices of toast with jam. A couple of suggestions to Monginsidi Guest House: guests would appreciate an English translation of the menu, and something extra such as some eggs with the breakfast would go down well too. Overall though, very happy!

The room was clean, and near to Malioboro which is the central of Yogyakarta tourist life. The internet running only in the dining/common room, NO internet in the room Breakfast is ok, but we are in yogya for culinary get away, so no one is complaining about the breakfast (u can choose toast bread or fried rice for the breakfast) The guest house is decorated in Javanese Style, so it is very nice to experience staying in a house like that.

Very warm Indonesian hospitality”
It was fantastic. Checking in was quick. Very warm and attentive staff. There were 3 of us in a group and we took an upgrade from standard to deluxe because the standard room was a little too small for the extra bed. The front desk guy showed us 2 of the available Deluxe rooms. Both were equipped with nice wooden Javanese furniture and each of them has its own charm. Breakfast was sent to our room at a time we specified. We chose the local option which was a simple but very delicious fried rice with egg. Monginsidi is a beautiful, well-kept colonial-style guesthouse of only a few rooms but their service to us was 5-star. We loved it!

Great and naturalistic stay”
the stay was great due to the efforts of the staff there. andry was great for driving us on the day trip package they had. padry was a great guy to let us use the staff computer to find out our itinerary during the night shift. mr. aham had great information to share with us with yogyakarta. finally adi offered us great services and helped us out as much as he could. overall great value for the money with the breakfast. the only negative is that our room was small.

Comfortable retreat fairly near main attractions”
It was great to have a cool clean room to retreat to from the labours of sight-seeing. The staff were very helpful organising cars to visit the Borobudur, Prambanan and Merapi. Don't be misled by Google Maps which puts Monginsidi Guest House about 1 km south-east of Tugu station. In fact it is about 1 km north of the station.

I like this hotel. This is an old colonial-style house converted to a hotel. Location is good, a short becak ride from Malioboro or Tugu train station. Staff was attentive and this hotel is within 2-3 minutes walk away from good restaurants (heading westerly). That is a real plus for me since I like eating out when on vacation. Breakfast can do with an improvement though. Only Fried rice and toast, and you can't have both but have to choose. But then again for the price this hotel gives a five star treatment

I had to book this hotel cause it turned out that my previous hotel was fully booked and I had to stay for another night. So I only got to stay here overnight for my business thing. Surprisingly, this could be the best and the most comfortable budget gotel I've ever stayed at. I wasn't expecting anything at first, especially with such a really low rate. It's an outdoor-garden kinda hotel and you'll find balconies in certain room type. the room is spacious for the rate, clean, well maintained, and the bed is really huge. 4 pillows in a budget hotel? I don't think I'll ever find them anywhere else. It's also centrally located. The staffs were friendly and there was a restaurant with delicious food and affordable prices inside the hotel. If you're willing to walk, it only takes around 15 mins to malioboro. I'd come back to this hotel for sure.

Strategic location, clean room, homy”
Overall me and my family really enjoy to stay there.. But in my room the toilet flush in my bathroom is not working properly.. Also in my first night, the air conditioning in my room is not really cold, but then fixed by their technician in the 2nd day.. And everythings is fine and we really enjoyed to stay in this guest house..

Clean, charming, comfortable and reasonably priced”
Our standard room was a little small but cool and spotless. The ambiance is very welcoming and gracious. The staff try very hard to make guests feel at home and among friends. The wi fi works in the main areas but not the rooms. The restaurant menus are varied and tasty but in Indonesian so you need to ask what's what. But the people who look after you are dedicated and want you to feel at home. I recommend this little jewel without reservation.

It was very great. I would definitely come there again. Clean room, affordable price.. And it's very javanese, not the typical modern minimalist hotels.. which is great because I want to experience the jogja side during this trip. i like the small garden area,, I can enjoy the morning breeze just in front of my room. Would definitely stay there again!

the staff was fabulous! They helped me a lot”
Thanks to the staff I caught my train in time, the boys brought me to the train station on two motorbikes, one for me and one for my luggage, had not taken into account that there would be no taxis during Lebaran, The hotel looks very nice, the room is perfect, the food is fine, good value for your money!!

Satisfying”
Myself and friends were really amazed at first when we arrived at the hotel. We really like the hotel design although it was small but you can feel the warmth and fresh feeling with the design and surrounding. We also like the room design and size, also the staffs service and hospitality. Will be staying again here in the future.

only one choice for breakfast (nasi goreng), should offer more variety. somer musicians were playing opposite of the hotel during the night, which was quite annoying. staff hotel should make sure that the hotel guest get some sleep (especially if they have to wake up early in the morning).

Its location is close to the center of Yogya (700m away from Tugu). Room was not too cramped but not really spacious. No wardrobe closet, only hangers. Clean enough. Bad piping (sometime you can smell awfull odor from the toilet). A bit expensive than the other accomodation that is better than this one.

Our stay was really nice. They have small fishponds which the kids really enjoyed ( less so us parents who had to try and keep them from getting wet all the time). Breakfast is not really fitting with European ideas of breakfast. Additional things like egg etc were immediately charged. But the room was clean, nice exterior and also interior of rooms, possibility to sit in front of the room. Distance to Malioboro is quite substantial, but any becak can bring you there for a small fee.

I BOOKED PENTHOUSE. IT WAS NICE STAY BUT THE PENTHOUSE LOCATED CLOSE TO THE STREET SO IT IS NOISY SOMETIMES ON DAYTIME. I LOVE THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE HOUSE "OLD DUTCH MIX JAVANESE STYLE" THAT IS TEH REASON I BOOK THIS HOTEL COS I LOVE SOMETHING ART AND TRADITIONAL. HOUSE ALSO HAS CAR TO BE RENT. THERE ARE SOME RESTAURANTS NEARBY OF THE HOTEL AND A BAKSO RESTAURANT ATTACHED TO THE HOTEL. STAFF WAS HELPFULL WITH JAVANESE CHARACTER LOL.

We had the suite which was a queen with a little living area that has two chairs and a table. It was for my husband and I and our 11 yearold daughter. The management/staff were exceptional in helping us with arranging transportation for Borobudur and Prambanan. And for a Jeep trip to Mt Merapi. We recommend it!
