"I went to Manza because of it's famous onsen. I really enjoy it especially it is in open air and next to the cliff where you can enjoy an unobstrcued view to the sky resort cabins in afar. It was very very cold and snowy when I arrive, must be -15 C. But you don't feel the cold when you are soak in the onsen and your head will be covered by snow. What an experience."

"My first visit to a real onsan (Hot Spring). Arrived during the snowing season. Location I wish I could give a 5 star rating but it is a Onsen (Hot spring) hotel and it should be on top of the mountain so it won't be convenience to reach but it damn worth it~! There are no food during the night and if u arrived by train (Manza Kazawaguchi), do stock up when u are below the mountain for the trip. There's a bus which travels to the Manza Onsen area. If you arrived late, there is also taxi service. The hot spring are great. Mixed bath and women only open concept hot spring to choose. Be warned ladies if u choose the mixed gen hot spring, u will see penises.. Guys are only issue a very small piece of tower and the girls will have to buy the "swim suite"(cheap also). no other clothes allowed even bikinis are not allowed. Bring a huge towel along or u have to rent (cheap also). Making snowman while u are spring bathing is a very unique experience. A ski resort is also nearby about 10mins walk on snow and the equipment can be rented at the hotel itself or the ski resort. same pricing... I recommend rent snow shoes at hotel and ski boards etc at the resort. 2 restaurant at the hotel to choose from but seems serving same food. If u can't speak Japanese then good luck and hope there is some part timer student working there to translate with limited English knowledge. it's a very good experience for me and my girlfriend and I wish i could stay longer and I will surely return next year.
