I stayed here 11 years ago. Time flies; the place is still good as usual. Staff is super friendly and helpful. They give their best to solve your issue. They speak REALLY GOOD English and I think it's why it attracts many English speaking travelers. I like this place. Location wise, it's very near to Kyoto Station. Major attractions are just a bus away. They sell the JPY600 unlimited 1-day bus pass. If you are looking for a budget lodging, look no more. This is the place!

A nice small hostel in Kyoto downtown”
I really love its location. Its really easy to get everywhere from the hostel. Its only 5 minutes walk to the main train station in Kyoto. And I only need to take 1 bus/1 train to go to all main destination in Kyoto. The staffs are really warm and welcoming. I love that they have half bathup and futon bed! They also provide a set of recommendation for activities, eating place, and destination, also collecting a lot of pamphlets. tbh Im underprepared for going to Kyoto, and decide all of my itinerary from their recommendation. Haha. Will be back if given the chance

Lovely place, near from Kyoto Sation, very lovely staff and really happy in here. We can have many new friends, the common room really lovely, even at morning i can make ocha by myself. They prepare coffee and ocha.. we can use it and thats really help us in a cold and rainy day. Tx you so much🙏🙏

Great budget accomodation!”
We dont normally stay in hostels but we tried this one in Kyoto with a private facilities room. We loved it! Only a short walk to Kyoto Station and the excellent transit system, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was really comfortable with traditional tatami bed and the shared kitchen facilities were excellent! As a 50 year old married couple staying in a "hostel" for the first time we would definitely stay here again one day!

just 5min walk to/from Kyoto Station and bus terminal. Got Lawson & Family Mart nearby. The only cons is stairs but that's ok staff willing to help. Recommended!

Pretty good. Just one thing I have no idea how clean the bed comforter is...because they ask us to put a linen in between you and the comforter and you and the bed sheet. But besides that the place is near the subway just walk underground. Also you have to pay an extra $2 for every day you stay paid at the hostel. Overall a good experience.

Near Kyoto Station”
if you are need to go everywhere while stay in Kyoto. Stay at Hana is the right choice. around 6-7 minutes walk from Kyoto Station. you want to take a bus, Kyoto station also one of the bus station center. And most of the bus route, are depart from Kyoto station. Looking for food, plenty option near Hana. you can go to Kyoto tower foodcourt in basement, many choices are on table. Hana itself is comfy for me. It's clean, staff are very nice and helpful. But there's no elevator at Hana. so if you bring heavy/big luggage or with elder people, it will be hassle for you to use stairs. overall... if I comeback to Kyoto again, this place will be my 1st choice. Love from Jakarta, Indonesia.

Hana Hostel have a very good location. Near of Kyoto's station we were happy to walk just 10mn (max) with our 20kg bagage! The team is so nice and reactive. Our room was clean, we spend a very good week! We met some nice travellers and we excahnge some nice tips about Kyoto and Japan too! Thank you very much Hana Hostel!

Our go-to place in Kyoto”
Whenever I’m in Kyoto, Kyoto Hana is my go-to place because of its convenient location from Kyoto Station and everything else. It has the basic amenities as we were outside during the day. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. It was very easy for us to make a last minute booking (good thing, there were available beds/rooms) because our bus to Tokyo got cancelled due to typhoon Hagibis. We would definitely book again.

First timer!”
First time trying out an hostel, it was awesome... The hostel is very near to the Kyoto station which u can use the underground passing but if u carrying a heavy luggage then u might wan to use the traffic walkway, because there's no lift provided on the underground passing. The hostel is clean and quiet. Check-in time is sharp at 3:00pm. After check-out, they still be able to store ur luggage while u stil can go out sightseeing or shopping. Our room is on the 3rd floor which is couple room with private bathroom. The bathroom is bigger than the normal Japanese bathroom. There's a lot of foods choices near the hostel. Overall great!

Clean, Walking distance to station, Helpful staff”
About 8 minutes walk from Kyoto Station. Walking distance to convenient stores (Lawson & Family Mart). The room is clean but they did not do housekeeping for us during our stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You are allowed to keep your luggage there before check in and after check out. If you stay for 3 nights, you can redeem for a small gift from the hostel. I have redeemed an entrance ticket to a public bath nearby. I am very satisfied with this hostel as a whole and will return again for my future trip in Kyoto.

the Hana/J Hopper chain does not disappoint”
If you have stayed in any of their hostels in Japan you know what you will get. Friendly staff, good wifi, great amounts of local tourist information (cheap rental bikes, laundry, etc). It's like a 10 min walk from JR Kyoto train station and a bus ride away from the main Kyoto city (5 minutes on bus or walk 30 mins). But in Kyoto if you want to visit the temples... you need to catch a bus (500yen day pass) or use a push bike. So this hostel location is no problem! Recommend!
