Best hotel we’ve stayed in here in Japan! Room was perfect, went above and beyond for our expectations of cleanliness! On top of it being already immaculate it was cleaned thoroughly everyday! We had an option if we wanted our room not to be cleaned, simple cleaning (Fresh towels & minimal cleaning & then a clean where you can request to have your sheets changed). We got a bag of razors, ladies set, toothbrush & toothpaste etc refreshed every day & was able to take home! Washing machine & dryer on the basement level (Cheap compared to other hotels) and there was also a restaurant right out the front of the hotel! I can’t recommend nd this hotel enough!!! We loved our stay here so much! If we come back to Japan/Kyoto well 100% stay here again! Thankyou for the amazing service Hotel Resol xxx

Very conveniently located as a base to explore Kyoto. Walking distance to Nishiki Market and Arashiyama, Kinkakuji-ji and Nijo-jo are a short journey away. Only 2 stops to Kyoto Station that we used to travel to and from Tokyo and Hiroshima. The breakfast was one of the best of the hotels we stayed in during our trip to Tokyo and the croissants possibly the best I’ve ever had. I would recommend paying the extra for the premium rooms as these were much larger than you normally find in Japan and had a few extras like a daily drink coupon, better in room complimentary drinks and snack. It was also useful to have the toilet and sink/shower in separate rooms.

This hotel is Kyoto's hidden gem. It is centrally located, near the river and San journey Kawaramachi areas where transportation is easy and restaurants abound. You will never go hungry in this area. Convenience stores and bakeries are also a stones throw away. Our room was beautiful and with very well-thought of interiors. Separate bathrooms were spacious and well-lit with enough storage space. Had a really cool bathroom enclave we've never encountered elsewhere. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of sockets and USB ports on either side to charge our gadgets with. Lighting can be changed from moody and romantic to bright and functional. We loved the tea set by the sofa, which we used daily for our green tea fix. Relaxing tea time by the window is great after a long day of exploring Kyoto. Staff were knowledgeable and accommodating to queries and requests. Housekeeping kept our rooms tidy all week. Thumbs up to all these hard-working people! Nice touches such as free ready umbrellas by the door when it's raining outside and an autumn leaves chart enumerating autumn spots to check out and whether the leaves there are at their peak or not. Taxis are easy to hail from outside the lobby and the Airport Limousine Bus stops nearby (Kyoto City Hall). There's also a subway entrance a few steps away. Solaria Nishitetsu Kyoto Premier is definitely our favourite hotel now in Kyoto and we will surely return. Thanks for making our 19th year wedding anniversary trip memorable!

A very well located and convenience hotel - 1. About 700m from either Sanjo (take Exit 6) or Kawaramachi (take Exit 6 or 9) Stations; 2. In between 2 Shoppings centre - Teramachi & Shinkyogoku. At the longer end of these two shopping centres, you can find Fuji Daimaru and Takashimaya (Kawaramachi Station); 3. Less than 200m to Nishiki Market; 4. Less than 15minutes walk to Gion - Pontocho Dori St, Hanamikoji Dori St. Another 5 minutes, you will reach Yasaka Shrine. We actually walked to Nene No Michi St to Kodaji Temple and back tracked to Yasaka Shrine. 5. Many good food outlet surrounding the hotel. Must try is Tendon Makino (tempura in rice bowl) in the Teramachi shopping centre. We enjoyed our stay at Gracery South wing (newer wing) except the bedding. The bed was rather very firm. The pillows were just too flat to sleep on. We asked for extra pillow but still the flat one. My wife did not have good sleep for the 3 nights we were there. I have to agree with her as we came from other hotels and we can noticed the differences.

We booked four nights and had two connecting rooms. It was perfectly set up for our family of four. The hotel provided a baby cot at a small additional fee but it was all set up and ready when we arrived. The hotel was clean and offered snacks and drinks throughout the day. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but used the small coffee shops and cafes near by. A quiet street with easy access to the train station and loads of shops and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and attentive as well. Would stay here again for sure. PS - for parents with kids who love Pokémon - the Pokémon Centre is only a few blocks away. We had no idea when we booked this - but our son was in heaven!

Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed by the staff. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was very pleased with my stay, and although short this time, I hope to be back for a visit in the future. This is an excellent hotel location within walking distance to karasuma station (approx. 5 minutes ), 15 - 20 minutes walk to, Nishiki Market, Gion Shijo & about 30-45 minutes walk to kiyomiduzera temple (or a 10 minutes bus [A 207 ] drive from gion shijo station). Also a walking distance to kawaramachi station or Gion Shijo station. At Gion Shijo station you can take the kelham railway (5 stops) to fushimi-inari (Trisha Shrine). And about 7 stops to Arashiyama (bamboo groove)Would definetely recommend this hotel to everybody. It's a true sample of excellent hospitality.

The location is right next to all major kawaramachi bus stops and lots of shopping. It's walkable to the Higashima temples though the full loop is well over 10 miles. . The staff was friendly and accommodating. They carry the bus day passes and provide a free newspaper (I enjoyed sampling the local perspectives). The room is small by Western standards but it's adequate and it's super clean and comfortable. The only con, try not to stay on the top floor as we got a lot of roof noises. Wind howling, clunking, etc. That said, we would definitely stay there again. It was far better than a comparable hotel with an identical layout we stayed in Osaka.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Kyoto. If you are travelling in Kyoto, bus is the best transportation mean & the hotel is just 1 min walking to the bus stop. The best thing is that there is a hot spring and you can relax yourself there. Staff are very friendly. There is a tourist information center with a staff on duty to show you the best route to go tourist places. Family Mart is just right next to the hotel. Many good restaurants nearby with late opening hours.

Wife and I were on our honeymoon. We wanted a great time in Kyoto. Chances upon this hotel online. Booked it. Turned out to be a great decision. Through email, we asked the hotel to help us make a reservation at Hyotei, a three-star Michelin kaiseki restaurant. The hotel replied within the day and confirmed our reservation. A couple of weeks before our trip, we found out my wife is pregnant. We emailed the hotel to inform the restaurant to ensure that there wasn’t anything raw in the menu for my wife and again, the hotel replied within a day to confirm that they had informed the restaurant. When we reached the Kyoto, it was pouring. Our luggages were wet. The staff greeted us with hot towels and green tea, and even helped to wipe our luggages dry. The staff spoke great English and provided useful information about Kyoto. They helped us bring our luggages to our room. The room was spacious and well laid out, making for a very comfortable stay, even through the typhoon that struck when we were there. We ordered a pizza for dinner through room service which came within 15 minutes. The pizza was great. WiFi was good and stable. They had really nice shampoo and shower foam. Overall, it was a great experience staying in Kanra.

Grand Bach Kyoto is a nice hotel, we loved to stay here. We looked for the hotel in Kyoto since 3 months in advance, and we found that this hotel meet our inquiry, good price, location, free wifi in room and facilities. But for last minute booking i think the price was overrated, perhaps because of it's hard to find a hotel during the Gion Matsuri Festival (3rd largest festival in Japan). Fash check in and check out, hot bathtub also available (separated by gender) but we didn't have enough time to try. Free coffee, tea in restaurant as complimentary and o chazuke as supper (it's unique, rice with various pickles and hot green tea in a bowl). Our room was quite small, but as for Japan standard it is okay. There is one sofa for 2 persons inside the room, and we can put our two medium luggages as well. The bathroom is so nice and equipped with high tech shower. If you are coming from Tokyo (JR Shinkansen) you have to walk, it's quite far with big luggages, almost 15-20 minutes, but you don't have to go out of Kyoto Station, just follow the signs via underground passage to find exit 11, or better to ask information center before you decide to walk. From exit 11, it's so close and easy to find the hotel, there is a map in the hotel's website. If you are using Hankyu Line it will be an advantage. You can walk from the hotel to Gion district, Pontocho Street and Nishiki Market. If you want to visit Arashiyama area in Kyoto, Hankyu Kawaramachi Station is just 5 min walk from the hotel. Easy access, nice hotel.

This hotel has the perfect location (surrounded by restaurants, convenience store). Hot bath was great. They provide free amenities kit. The room is a bit small (we booked Triple room). The best thing about this hotel is that hotel staff are superb helpful and friendly. They do not say no to any requests and always willing to help. Free welcome drinks and dining areas are very good as well. Highly recommend.

The hotel is modern and sleek, and well placed in the Kawaramachi area. Easy walk to the local sights of Nishiki markets, Pontocho dining street, and short walk over the river to Gion district. There are a couple of train stations nearby and buses on the main road outside the hotel. Free espresso coffee machine in the main lobby's guest lounge was a nice touch. The tatami room was a reasonable size for Japan, especially the bathroom. Comfy bed. Lighting mood is a bit dark, and no view from my room (side alley only) hence the atmospheric paper screens over the window. Nice touch with a matcha tea and whisk kit, as well as green tea bags. Staff were very helpful but not overly familiar. I would stay here again.

This hotel is one of the best hotel I have ever lived in. The room is very spacious relative to other hotel in Japan. Very clean. The washing machine with drying function is great, with one pack of free washing powder provided. Cooking utensils and oven are great for saving money when i can cook A5 Wagyu beef from the supermarket. Free drinks provided from 7am-11pm, no need to worry about being thirsty. The bed is big and clean. The annex is very near to the subway station and bus stops. Walking distance to Nijojo Castle. Nothing to complain at all. and definitely to come again if visit Kyoto.

Located within walking distance from sanjo station and a hop and a skip away from main artery Kawaramachi, we loved our stay here. Starbucks was also a few minutes away (to the delight of my husband). It's a fifteen minute walk to gion, and pontocho is even closer. Check in and check out was a breeze, and the staff were helpful and friendly. You can purchase bus passes from the front desk, and they will gladly share tips about suggested itineraries and how best to get there. The room is compact (not a big surprise considering this is Japan) but cozy. They also provided us with old fashioned nightgowns that were quite comfortable! Lots of convenience stores and breakfast places around. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is perfect in every way! location is the best, just round the corner from shijo station exit 19 (stay on same side of the road & walk away from the cross junction), walk past Tokyu Hands & turn in at the Yoshinoya corner. Dont bother staying at Kawaramachi where you still need to transfer subway line, Shijo station is just 2 stop away from Kyoto station. Daimaru is just opposite & there are plenty of restaurtants in the street behind Daimaru (Ippudo ramen, pancakes, sushi, tonkatsu etc). Nishiki market is 10min walk & it link you to Teramachi shopping street. walk further down & you will reach Takashimaya. Room size is decent, compact but everything is available like a foldable writing table, fridge with 2 bottles of water complimentary, small bathtub. bed is comfy & reception allow early check-in for me. I will definitely stay here again!

Good location, it is only 10 minuets walking from the main shopping and food place, Kawaramachi, very convenient to hang around. Hotel, itself is cozy (small, but ok) and clean, crews are friendly. The public sauna is very small (way smaller than the pictures but clean, well equipped, no inconvenience to use), good to use it in winter time. The one I liked most was there is a humidifier/air cleaner in the room so I can adjust the humidity (very useful in winter time, definitely doesn’t need it in summer ;) ) There are a few other ones with same name in Kyoto. I got into Shijo one for checked in, but they kindly guided me to Sanjo one and even called to Sanjo and inform them, so get me through quick check in. Definitely will choose this hotel next time if I come to Kyoto. For one quick tip, there is a good izakaya (萬) just left of the hotel, sake and simple Japanese style of bar food are very good late at night. Very delight atmosphere with local Japanese people.

very new hotel, clear & bright with great facilities even provided kitchen facilities sink with piped water, microwave, cutlery, plates & bowls etc. just the check-in counter is inside a building opposite of Kyoto station, then need to take train/bus/taxi to the hotel. Hotel is un-staffed but they have a phone to call them if needed. Taxi from the check-in building to hotel is approx JPY1100 but it worth if you have luggage (taxi driver are very nice too). You can drop the key at the reception desk of the hotel when check-out. A big 7-11 (convenience store) is just 5 mins walk from hotel. Neighbours are very quite. 15-20mins walk to Kawaramachi area, but if you are planning to Arashiyama, it's just 10mins walk to the Randen station.

A room is quite small but there many equipments, facilities inside and All they look new : ))) There are many convenient stores nearby this hotel. If you want to go to any attractions you can ask receptionists. They'll give you a map, including Bus No. but I'm not sure about the language (I got japanese/chinese language) If you look for a hotel nearby kawaramachi subway station, I'll recommend this hotel . The only thing that I don't like is the price. It's quite expensive so, overall I satisfy this hotel.

Very close to one of the subway station, hotel was in comfortable walking station to downtown Kyoto (kawaramachi area/ gion area). We had a very nice room and the staff were very friendly. Smoking is allowed in the lobby. Walls were a bit thin, and the Cantonese people that were living next door were talking loudly throughout the night, but this is not the hotel's fault. Cantonese people are known to speak loud.

Loving this hotel so much. It's really near to the subway station Karasuma line, which you can ride to Kyoto Station or switch to the popular Hankyu Kyoto line. There are also bus station nearby. Going anywhere in the city is very easy. Furthermore, the rooms are really good! You'll get clean and modern bathroom, wide beds, a phone that you can take outside to act as your guide or internet source, kitchen (need to rent the kitchen equipment), and the best.. WASHING MACHINE + detergent AND DRYER. I love how I can wash all my winter underwear and dry them with dryer system inside the bathroom.

This hotel/co working space/hostel is in a great location, short walking distance to Kawaramachi station, Teramachi and Nikishi market. There is a super market across the street, and tons of restaurants around. The actual pod is a nice size, very comfy double bed and gives a little more privacy than other hostels. The shower and washrooms are clean, and the lounge/co working space is a great space to hang out. The major concern is that everything in the pod is controlled by an iPhone. Without the device, the lights and position of the bed cannot be adjusted. I stayed here for 5 nights, and one night the device fell onto the floor. I was looking all over for the device, and really had to use the washroom and the “door” was stuck because the bed was in the flat position and I was getting frantic. I finally peeked outside and saw the phone on the floor. It would be really helpful if there is a slot in the pod to place the device so that the guest can always find where it is.

This hotel is quiet, and very welcoming. Staff were extremely friendly, and made the effort to make our stay very enjoyable. One of the women even chased us down to tell us that she would be on days off, would miss our departure and wished us the best. The breakfast buffet is excellent catering to both Japanese and Western tastes, and a special mention must go to the hotel onsen which is perfect at the end of a day spent walking. The icing on the cake for service was us realising the day after check out that our 4yr old daughter had left her beloved toy rabbit behind; she was in tears and yet a quick call to the hotel had them find it and offer to post it to our hotel in Tokyo. We are indebted and she is very thankful! Thanks for the stay, we'd love to come back, and will if we are in Kyoto.

Pros: - really good location, access to 2 different train lines [5min walk from Exit 5, one line going north south 2 stops from Kyoto stn & other going east (1 stop from gion) west], - 10min walk to Shijo Dori Bus stop (takes you to kinkakuji & other attractions), - 15min walk to Nishiji market - Very helpfull staff. Mo trouble with English, always happy to help. - New hotel so facilities are immaculate. Small rooms from western standards but they're well designed & include alll amenities. Bathroom was a lot larger compared to most airbnb's we stayed in during our trip (wished it's Tokyo branch was a similar price). - Laundry on lvl 5 was great as it allowed us to travel light. We booked via Agoda & was cheaper than booking direct with hotel. - $10 buffet breakfast was good value for money - convenience stores right at the door step.

Very clean room, everything super clean. Spacious and with a washingmachine and small kitchen included. Its really a 10/10 A friendly receptionist which helped us a lot with our questions about sightseein around kyoto. I can really recommend this Hotel! You get a lot for a "cheap" price. We stayed in 3 hotels in kyoto. This one was by far the best. Hahaha i dont comment that mich normally but we really enjoyed our stay! Thanks again !

hotel okura is very near to kamokawa, it takes about 5 minutes to the river. kawaramachi and shijo and sanjo are in its neighborhood, with department stores and good for shopping. the hotel is connected to the subway station kyoto shiyakusho mae and there are restaurants, cafes, and convenient stores outside the subway entrance. the single room is small as other hotels in kyoto but the room is clean and heart-warming. breakfast is good. i would stay here again next time i come to visit kyoto.

We paid for an upgraded room (one with a name not a room #) and it was beautiful. It had a sitting area, foyer, modern bathroom that was very spacious by Japanese standards. It also had 2 single beds and a full size multi purpose room raised in the middle with paper walls and tatiami matts. There were legless chairs and a coffee table that pushed aside for traditional futons at night. (not the best idea if you have a sensitive back). They even supply you with traditional house clothing to wear around the hotel when visiting one of their four public baths. The entrance to the hotel is beautiful and the closest thing to a knock would be the breakfast perhaps was not worth the money but a great stay for sure.
