It was a very good accommodation as the reviews said!! I visited alone as a woman, but the staff were kind and I was able to stay with peace of mind. When searching around Karuizawa, most places were expensive, but considering the access on foot from the station, this place competes for the lowest price. Although it is old, it is cleaned thoroughly and has a sufficient sense of cleanliness. The bath and toilet are shared, but they are separated by gender, so there is no problem. The bed is a compact semi-single size. It may be narrow for a large man, but if you think that sleeping cheaply is the main purpose, you can compromise here. As it was my first visit to Karuizawa from Kyushu, there were many things I didn't understand, but the staff kindly taught me. ★Points that I thought were full of hospitality - Amenities are abundant There are enough amenities for women, such as contact lens solution, shampoo, makeup remover, hair dryer, etc., so you don't need to bring anything. - Bicycle rental for 500 yen -> The staff wiped the clean bicycle carefully before I rode it. - There is a shuttle service -> If you ask the staff, they will gladly take you to the station or nearby spots. This time, due to flight delay, we didn't arrive at Karuizawa on the first day. We checked in at the hotel early in the morning on the second day. The service attitude of the reception staff was very good, so polite that I felt embarrassed. The luggage to the room was also carried by the staff. Although the whole house is a bit old, it is really warm and cozy. The heating is always on, the room is clean and well-equipped. There are also extra supplies available for guests to use for free in the corridor. There are also bottled water, coffee, tea, and cheap instant noodles, snacks, and drinks for purchase, which is convenient when you can't go out at night. The best part is that they even offered us a free ride to the station when we checked out. It's really thoughtful. If I come to Karuizawa again, I will definitely stay here. It's really great. I was able to enjoy a great trip to Karuizawa at a great inn. 1. The staff were great. I don't think there are many staff members who are as easy to talk to as they are here. When I came back soaking wet in a downpour, they immediately lent me a towel and even dried my shoes by the next morning, which I am very grateful for. I was also happy to have access to a free washing and drying machine. They did many other things to make my stay comfortable, and even greeted me when passing by in the hallway. It was a very pleasant place to stay. 2. The room was great. The room was so stylish and cute that I felt bad staying there with another guy. I think women would be very satisfied with it. The amenities were also great, and I especially appreciated the water dispenser in the hallway. The bath was spacious, and I was able to relax when there was no one else using it. If I have the chance to travel to Karuizawa again, I would definitely stay here again. One more thing to mention is that there were many bugs because it was in the woods, but the rooms were well protected, so it was not a problem. However, it seems that the toilet was not well protected. Also, because my room was at the end of the hallway, the Wi-Fi was unstable. The hotel service staff, Sugino, was very friendly and sincere. Satoh Inn gave me a feeling of being at home. The wooden floors had a historical and unique character. The pillow was the best I have ever slept on, and I loved the feeling of the little things inside the pillow. During check-out, it was raining heavily due to a typhoon. The two service staff members learned that I was going to ride a bicycle to Yunba Pond and proactively gave me a towel (saying that I might need it, how thoughtful!) and a warm pack (so considerate!). I thought I wouldn't need the warm pack, but it warmed my body after being soaked in the rain for two hours while changing hotels and helped me when I was lost and feeling helpless. This was my first trip to Japan, and I encountered such a unique and great inn. I welcome everyone to come and experience it. P.S. The bathhouse is large and clean, and you must come and experience the local hot springs.

If you've ever watched Psycho, it has that kind of atmosphere, but we like it. It's a classic and the room looks old but simple. We booked a room with a bathroom inside, which was convenient. There was a heater, but it was an old model and there was no bidet. Outside the room, there was a water dispenser and coffee and tea provided. We booked a package with breakfast and dinner included. The dinner set had a choice of beef or chicken karage, both of which were delicious. However, the breakfast was limited and too simple. A small, cute male staff member with long hair helped us carry our bags up to the second floor. The hotel is located between the train station and Kumabo Pond, so we walked there every day. It was convenient to drag our bags to the train station. The walkway was also convenient.
