The Karaksa Hotel is located in the middle of the Danukikoji shopping district, so famous tourist attractions such as Odori Park, Mega Don Quijote, and famous soup curry shops are within walking distance. We rented a car, but the hotel has a parking tower that we can use for 1500 yen per night, which is a really good price compared to nearby parking lots that charge 2400 yen per night. There is a Korean staff member at the front desk, so you don't have to worry if you have difficulty speaking Japanese or English. We received daily room cleaning service during our three-day stay, which was very satisfying. We were so grateful that we even left a small tip in the room when we checked out. Even though we stayed in the smallest room, it was no problem for two people. There is a small bathtub in the room, but there is also a pretty good large public bath on the second floor, so we mainly used that for bathing. There is also a nice lounge where you can enjoy free ice cream or massage chairs. Overall, my girlfriend and I were very satisfied with this hotel. If we come back to Sapporo, we will not hesitate to book the Karaksa Hotel again. Karaksa is the best!

We have a separated restrooms and showers which is perfect for our group. We do not need to wait for each other to do our daily routine which is essential to maximize our time to rest from our travel fatigue. A perfect place for gathering and relaxation with a minimalist Japanese style interior inspired by Hokkaido culture where you can see family enjoying their stays. They have great affection to each other, friends are chatting while enjoying the bottomless drinks. Kids are adoring their special amenities and services, they have small playhouse inside the lounge. Both parents and children can enjoy happily and comfortably. Furthermore, a promise of noble spirit corresponds from the hotel staff on a daily basis, the best hotel breakfast on my entire stays in different Japan prefecture. I feel that I’m not a way from home anymore, like sharing my precious morning with my family. They serve very fresh and healthy foods, which is labeled appropriately for guest with allergies including me. The buffet styled breakfast concerns guest with dietary restrictions, they features distinctive menu for other cuisines. Everyday, everything is different. But what I really love is a juicy Hokkaido melon, it offers a rich fragrance and exquisite taste, the best melon in my entire existence!!! Honestly, my five days of stay in Karaksa create an isolation from my external world of work. I really love the onsen culture because of its fresh and clean facility, they caters large indoor and outdoor bath for men and women. I’m really afraid and ashamed from my previous onsen deep before, I choose private onsen in Hakone. Karaksa unlocks my whole self to understand a hidden meaning of relaxation into their onsen. It takes down my whole body consciousness. Every night, I try a hot onsen bath to disconnect from pressure and immensity of the world. Above all, our stay is quite comfortable and enjoyable! We stayed 8 nights at this hotel in Dec 2023. 2 adults & 2 teenagers. Very good location, once u exited the back entrance of hotel , u are right in the middle of Tanukikoji shopping street 5, with lots of shops , eateries, mega donki, cosmetic & convenient stores etc. 5-10 mins walk to Susukino shopping district , Susukino station , Nijo market , Odori park , Sapporo TV tower & also an underground shopping (Pole town) which has plenty of shops , eateries & can link to a couple of subway stations (Odori station about 6 mins walk, Sapporo station about 10 mins walk, Sapporo JR station about 20 mins walk) It’s safe walking back to hotel in late night as you can walk along the Tanukikoji shopping streets to enter the hotel, suitable for solo traveler. We booked 2 connecting rooms . Each room has 2 single beds , 1 toilet & 1 shower room ( separated), 1 small round table , 2 stools, 1 clothes hanging rack. The sink & mirror are just outside the shower room which is great. We’re able to sleep well at night as the room is rather quiet although it’s located in busy shopping district. Room is not that big but can open up 2 pieces of 27 inch luggages on floor .

Karaksa is a no frill hotel right at the center of Sapporo . Its minimalist features are just right for travelling family with small kids. The room assigned to us - couple and a sister- is tiny but we managed. Its best feature is the hot bath or onsen. At its doorstep is the popular Tanukikoji shopping arcade and the Susukino food and shopping district. The fampus city landmarks - Odori Park and the Sapporo Tower are just a few blocks away. But the hidden gem is iits proximity to the airport bus stop. The hotel should Improve yhe lsy out of its lobby and front desk. Another downside is the absence of English TV channels . The staff are very helpful and would take an extra mile for assistance. I highly recommend this hotel to those who put premium on convenience and practical living over luxurious comfort.
