Close to Prambanan ”
I stayed one night at Joglo Ayem Tentrem after browsing Prambanan temple and watching Ramayana ballet. This area has beautiful scenery. There are rice fields near the place and I was able to Gunung Merapi. Helpful staff with a clean room. Thanks for the welcome drink and breakfast. It can be hard to find Grab around the area, so I had to rent scooter from Jogja. It won't be problem if you have own transportation.

One of best Javanese traditional Guest House”
I and family with 3 children stayed for 2 nights. First day stayed in Etnic house and next day move to the room. The guest house located in quite place, not far from Prambanan temple, surounding by the paddys field. The road access was little bit small road and quite easy to find. The place is very clean, very nice staff and very good breakfast service with delicious menu. The atmosphere was really relax amd not too crowded. Really enjoy while stay there and dedinitely will prefer to come back

Though this facility is little away from so called city center (5 minutes drive !!)still prefer this due to its pristine surroundings and beautiful greenery inside the hotel. The staff were extremely pleasant and go out of way to support clients. They have bicycles which can be used to ride around and is free.

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is about 1 hour drive from major heritage sites and Yogyakarta city but it definitely worth for stay if you are looking for a nice retreat during your trip or simply relax. Sun rise was early at about 5am. There're some farm lands nearby for you to explore and take pictures if you don't feel like cycling to the heritage Prambanan for 4am's sun rise. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they reached out to help us with transportation, dinner and even tour us to their little garden. We're allowed to hand pick their passion fruits! Their staff Ronald, a cheerful young guy, drove us to a restaurant for a local delicacy called "Gudeg"/Jackfruit curry. Another staff Febri is also a friendly, accountable, and efficient lady. She organized the transport and meal for us. The room is spacious and clean. Interior furniture has been refurbished with gorgeous Bali wood.

Best place to stay away from the city”
This place is located far from the Jogja city center (which is so crowded). I stayed up one night for this place is (very) close to Prambanan Temple. I joined a marathon which take the start line in Prambanan Temple. And turned out it was a wonderful vacation at once! This place is surrounded with the ricefield. So calm, so quiet. I chose one room with one queen sized bed. It's roomey with kitchen and bathroom both indoor and outdoor. Outdoor? Yes, they have outdoor shower! They use wood for most of the furnitures, and the bricks-concept for the wall, and passion fruit (markisa) in almost everything. I was exhausted after doing 42K run, so they let me stay for couple hours more to take a rest without charging me a penny. I didn't have my breakfast so they change it to my lunch. Awesome! The staffs are friendly, communicative, and kind. I asked to be picked up at airport at 4 pm, and due to the delay, i landed around 4.30, and they didn't mind waiting another 30 minutes as I was waiting for my sister by bus. I really recommend this hotel if you look forward to getting a nice and quiet place for your stay. But nothing is perfect right? The minus: Due to the location, it's kinda difficult to find stores or restaurant. You can ask them food, but the only menu they have (at that time) is rice and fried chicken. But who knows they already made some more. And electrical plugs near bed should've been more helpful right?

This is an ideal base to visit Prambanan Temple and the other lesser known temples in the area. You can rent bikes in the hotel and cycle through the paddy fields. It as handy to get transport from here to Borobodur as from Yogyakarta. The train goes from opposotite the temple to the centre if you wish to visit the city.

Really good hotel if you wish to see the temples in Yogyakarta. Very near Candi Prambanan. The food was good and the tea (Wuduh Uwuh - hope i got that right) was really good. Andreas, the manage, and the rest of the staff was very accommodating. I will stay here again. Highly recommended.

We had the privilege of booking 2 nights at Joglo. What an incredible place!!! Set amidst the beautiful farmlands, with Mt Merapi as a backdrop, the setting couldn't be better. The rooms are immaculate, spacious, and well designed and decorated. The friendly Abi went well beyond necessary to ensure our best possible stay, including drop off and collection from the ballet, early airport drop off, free bicycle hire, and a customized breakfast! We would highly recommend this wonderful place for a great place to relax, in a truly exceptional setting.

the place a bit far from downtown, but really quite, calm at night and you can enjoy the view. The hotel surrounding by the rice fields, give you eyes a freshness. The room is good, they also have kitchen in every room, the staff is really nice and kind.

Rural setting”
If you are looking for a rural, peaceful, and wooden Japanese-style ambiance, you'll enjoy this small hotel. The accommodation is set up as several small "houses" in one area. Very comfortable American-style beds and excellent service. Make sure you try the passionfruit juice. One caveat: the open window setting may allow a few flying insects inside. (September 2017)

The kampung life”
It's pretty hidden through the kampung areas, you'll have to ask for the locals about it, even the cab driver doesnt know about that place. But you will find a gem in between the padi fields, with wood architecture and hanging markisa trees on the walkway. Indulge with the kampung vibe and just chill. Highly recomended.

I love the place, the staffs are helpful and always ready to attend any of your inquiry. The estate is surrounded by a luscious field of rice paddy, the air is fresh and the morning is excellent with their hand brewed coffee and passion fruit juice. Totally recommended for a couple getaway.
