We decided to stay in the tents as it is the closest to the hike to mount Batur. On arrival we get greeted by Jerro below the mountain. We came here to go to the top of the volcano and we didn't want a guide. He kept trying to sell us his expensive guide package. After negotiating a while, we finally were able to stay at the tents and not take the guide. We paid 100.000 IDR extra to have dinner at the campsite, including tea and drinks. So we both had one beer, but the next day we had to pay another 100.000 IDR for the beer. They said it was not included. We did the hike the next morning without a guide and it was totally fine. We left our bikes at his house and we got back to the bikes, one of them was acting weird. We made it to the 'triangle house' a bit further in town only to realize that they had tampered with the bike! The probably wanted to get more money out of us. Do not stay here! We stayed somewhere else the next night and it was absolutely amazing!
