Where to stay in Hualien City
Hualien City hotels & accommodations

We chose this hotel to have a break from the city and a start point to visit the Taroko National Park and gorge . It was a great choice ! So many activities inside the hotel you could do and the proximity next door of a golf . Activities included 2 pools one indoor , indoor climbing wall , pool tennis table, bow and arrows , spa , ... and many more ! It was a bit out o...

It was really a pleasant stay. I would totally recommend friends to stay here if they are looking for a hotel in Hualien. Room was spacious, everything was clean and it was really a pleasant stay. Location of hotel is at the heart of everything. Hotel breakfast can be improve though. Other than that Park City Hotel - Hualien Vacation is almost perfect!

We stayed 2 nights at Hotelday Plus Hualien and really enjoyed it! It is located near the Hualien train station, which is nice if you want to do day trips to e.g. Taroko National Park (the buses leave from the train station). The hotel is designed very stylish and we felt super comfortable in our room! The interior was super modern. Hualien night market is ~ 3 km away,...

We stayed on 8th floor and the room had nice view of the ocean. The room had a big bed and was very roomy. There was a large bathing area with tub and shower by the window. Toilet and sink was in a separate section near the door. The bed was a little soft and wished it was more firmer. we parked in underground parking lot under the hot which was free. There is a seven ...

New and appealing hotel in Hualien. It offers a good confort (even if bathrooms are not at the same level as the rest of the hotel). Breakfeast is good and offers a wide choice. Outside pool is also a plus. Main negative points of the hotel is the location. Too far to go by walk to downtown Hualien. You need to take a cab. There is also not a lot of restaurants or ...

I stayed at this hotel 'Shiny Ocean Hotel' for a night. I had a pleasant experience here. All the staff was so friendly and welcoming, brekkie was also served and nice. I can tell location is also nice as Hualien city is quite small. Cleanliness's also perfect too! I will stay at the hotel next time again.

Checked-in at 7pm into the top floor room. When we returned from dinner close to 10pm Hualien was hit with a heavy downpour causing the roof top water to leak at the lift landing area. Told to change to the 9th floor for all rooms guests on the 10th at 11pm. Was quite a hazzle as the lobby staff was left with 2 guys and we have to move ecerything ourself including pi...

Walking distance to and from Hualien Station. Just look out for a bright yellow building which is very visible from the station. Staff service is impeccable and exemplary. They would drop whatever they are going just to greet you aloud, like Japanese style. Close to dining options too though bit far to night market. But no fault of theirs. 1st hotel we come across that...

Clean hotel and located near to 7E and just 5-8 minutes walk to Hualien Train Station. Can put your bag temporary before check in. When we went to Hualien, it was wet season and we don't have umbrella with us. They let us borrow the hotel umbrella (for the whole day) which I think not many hotel do so, i consider this is something that need to be mention as extra point...

Our stay at Fullon Hotel Hualien was during the time the 6.4-scale earth quake landed in Hualien City. If we had the foresight, we probably wouldn't be in Hualien at that time, but we were there, and were so glad that we stayed at Fullon Hotel! During our last night of planned stay there, we were jolted awake by the quake around midnight in our 10th floor room. The fir...

This is the second time I've stayed at the Just Sleep Hotel in Hualien. What I like most about this hotel is the fact that it's relatively new, & clean with a large spacious room and comfortable bed. It's also fairly close to the night market and shopping. A nice bathroom is also important to me and this one qualifies as it contains the features I like. I also like the...

The Japanese room stated its for 5 adults but we booked it for 6 person and thought it would have an extra bed but no, there were 3 double beds in the room which is very good. Also, the room has 2 toilets, one with bath room and one without bath room. Water pressure of the showers is good. The breakfast was good, with a lot of varieties and also many varieties for veg...

I enjoyed my two nights stay at Meci Hotel while visiting Hualien City for the first time. Location was good for travelers arriving Hualien by train. It's an easy walk that takes probably less than 10 minutes. The bustling Chung-Shang Road is right around the corner with tons of restaurants to choose. Although breakfast is not served/included, there are plenty of cheap...

An excellent choice for budget travellers. Inexpensive, and close to the railway station, but too far to walk, particularly if you have luggage. It's just a short taxi ride. Our room was very spacious with a separate living area. The room was clean and modern, with modest fittings and fixtures. The airconditioning, bathroom and shower were functional and adequat...

Hotel is located in good location. About 100m away from Hualien Railway Station, bus terminal and Tourist Information Centre. Nearby are eateries, shops, convenient stores, restaurants... etc. Friendly and helpful staff with good knowledge of tourist spots and advices on public transportation. Clean spacious room with snow white towels and good quality toiletries. ...

Leaf inn is a beautifully refurbished building with aesthetically pleasing decor. Each room is uniquely designed. The room that I was in had tiny figurines and thought provoking phrases (in Chinese, so it was mostly lost on me). Breakfast is served at the cafe and it was lovely. There was a nice designer market the weekend I was there with some live singing. It's not ...

The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk away from the train station, which is pretty convenient for us as we travelled with friends as a group of 4. Hualien City is a quiet and scenic area, it is highly recommendable that the hotel rents out bicycle for free. With the rented bicycles we actually cycled around the whole Hualien City instead of travelling by buses or ...

Everything is great at this hotel! Can rent bikes for free to go around Hualien city, a route along the Pacific Ocean is just in front of the hotel, though a section of the bikeway down the south is in reconstruction. It's less than 10mins cycling from the night market and would take 20mins to walk. Room is great, comfortable and nicely equipped with a Seaview balcony....

The location of this hostel was 5 minutes from the Train Station in Hualien City. I enjoyed my stay here as the place was clean, they had individual lockers and the washing/drying machines were functional (2 washing and 2 drying machines). The staff gave great advice on where to go and were really friendly. Breakfast was good with the usual tea/coffee/water and toast p...

The staff was very very helpful. From the moment they fetched us from the airport, the service level was impeccable. Arsma is one of the newest hotel in Hualien, well-designed and comfortable. It is located next to the main shopping "triangle" in Hualien, where you can find clothes, shoee and local street food. We will certainly stay at Arsma again if we visit Hualien...

Very safety place , clean and big room, staff is very good service, has sevice mind...We are appreciated. Closed to night market, walk 5 mins...Closed to the beach too...Need only mirror in room not only in bathroom... will be perfect place that do not miss when visit Hualien City in Taiwan...

Room and toilet are extremely clean. Bathtub is modern and beautiful. I love the pillow and bed provided are super comfortable. Yet, the hair dryer is not user friendly, especially for the girl with long long hair needed to press the button in a long time. Staff are nice and friendly. They reminded me that they had a fire drill so that we did not to be afraid. Buffet...

My friends and I had a very good stay for two nights in the family room. The four of us enjoyed the hotel facilities provided here after staying at 2 different airbnb guest houses at Taichung and Sun Moon Lake before that. The family room was huge and spacious. There was so much space left to walk around although all four of us had big luggage. The bathroom was huge to...

Super easy to find (300m)opposite Hualien train & bus station to Taroko. Visitors centre is also next to station. 6 bedded dorm on 4th floor(no elevator) was bright, airy & very spacious with bathroom attached. Small locker was provided inside dorm. Beds were clean, firm with duvet. Every floor had drinking water machine & common fridge. Only thing was a lack o...
Cheap places to stay in Hualien City

I stayed one more night then planned because I appreciate Hualien and the lovely bean hostel very much. it is very clean, close to bus or train station and very convenient with the free bicycles. I drove around to the bicycle street at the beach and to some places the staff recommended me. also the beds are super cosy and the sheet is the best I had in my 6 month trave...

New hostel with very good facilities. The host Shin and Nick is very friendly and can speak very good English. The room was big. Everything is just perfect except the location is little bit far from Hualien Station. If you want to rent a bike you can go to GIANT and can get at a discounted rate for Sleeping Boot guest. The shop just after Hualien Hospital same row wi...

The host was very friendly and kind, the package also comes with two flurry kids. So it’s a good place for dog lovers. It also provides washing machine without charges. Place was clean and comfortable. Will come back to this place on my next visit to HuaLien.

Really great experience in Bayhouse. Everything more than my expectation! Staff there are friendly and willing to help anytime. If you have an opportunity to stay there, must try the foods recommend by them, really nice which won't disappoint you! Room is big and comfortable, books are avalaible in the room just makes me feel like home. Although they said to have no b...

I loved my stay in Hualien. Even if it was raining all the time, i really enjoyed staying at Lazy House. We watched a movie one evening and on the other the host cooked hot pot and she invited us. That was great! Coffee, Tea, Water is free and they have Oats for Breakfast. You‘re free to use the kitchen and you could also cook something! 2 minutes away there is a grea...

I guess my title sums it up. Phoenix Hostel is located within walking distance to Dongdamen Night Market. It is a 30 minute walk from Hualien train station (or about TWD 150 by Taxi, 6 minutes). Food: Breakfast was decent - sausages, ham, cheese slices, bread, garlic bread, salads etc. Drinks - basically a coffee machine. Beds: What I liked about the place was the...

Good location, 10-15 min walk from train station. Easy to reach. The owner, Jasmine, is very friendly. She has a very cute (and old, 17 y.o.) shih tzu dog, for those who like dogs. There are laundry services, for a minimal fee. A good base to explore Hualien and Taroko National Park for a few days. There are lots of small restos and convenience stores nearby. I would re...

Nice place to stay in Hualien city. 10 minutes walk from the train station. Dorm room is relatively spacious with a lot of space to walk around and place my luggage. Only downside was there was only a single toilet in the room so guests have to compete for it

Good, although the location was a bit far (5,10 min walk from railway station and 20min walk from city centre). I was staying with 2 uni, students from taiwan and mainland and had a good experience communicating with them. The facilities including the toilets were clean. Can sleep quite comfortably in the hostel. I am not sure of the price in other hostel so i have noth...

I had a very comfortable stay here. When I checked in, I was given a map of the area and an explanation about all the interesting spots nearby - without even having to ask them for it. The location is 10 minutes away from the most famous night market, and only 1 minute away there's a smaller market which was also very nice. If you want to go to Taroko, you can easily t...

I was a solo traveler first time to Hualien. It was very important to have curtains for each bed so that you can enjoy reading and sleeping. The environment was cozy and quiet. You can see the effort paid for decoration. The hosts gave me a lot of advice on my trip when I was not certain where I should go. It a t last changed my itinerary and went to Taroku which was a...

I was staying in this hostel two nights in hualien city. This hostel is not close to railway station and requires a motorbike or so on to arrive there. Room is very clean and quiet, especially bathroom/toilet is spacious, newly renovated, fantastic and clean. I will stay in this hostel again.

Walking distance to train station & main city, place is very clean, cozy & homely warm feel, you feel so comfortable in this awesome setting that i can just laze around there the whole day. Bed is spacious for a 6-beds room, can put all my stuffs nicely on the table beside the bed. The whole place is so classy. Met so many awesome friends there & had so much fun that i...

The owner of the hostel is very nice. he helped me to organize a nice day trip to 泛舟, it's really exciting and there's special discount offered to the hostel customers which travel fee is included. There're many other 1day or 2day trip around Hualien that I want to join when I go there again. Highly recommend!!!!!

The hotel was a 5-minute walk from Hualien train station as well as the feeder bus station to Taroko National Park (runs as early as 7:00am onward). It was extremely solo-travel friendly with all the necessary brochures and maps to help you get around the city. The entire place was very clean - helped by the fact that you're only allowed their hostel slippers beyond ...

Place has 2 buildings, opposite of each other. The Corner House, is the branch, and it is a hostel. The hostel itself besides having common hostel rooms, it also has 2 rooms with private bathrooms and basic amenities. Both are just a walking distance away from the train station. The staffs are, however, one of the best I've met across my travels. Very genuinely helpful...

The first thing i noticed was how ridiculously clean the floor was in the bedroom. The staff were always very helpful, despite sometimes having language barriers. If you plan on resting in the room diring the day there is no air conditioning from 9 pm to 9 am so take that into consideration. Overall i had a great stay here, if you're interested the owner is really into...

A stylish, well-decorated hostel with a spacious lounge/kitchen area. The staff are friendly, welcoming and spoke very good English. The beds are comfortable and curtains are available if you want the extra privacy. Pull out lockers underneath each bunk is big, should fit most traveller's backpacks. Con: It's further away from Hualien city centre but I chose this loc...

I travelled to Hualien for a much needed break from Taipei and G.O.A.T. Hostel turned out to be the perfect choice for my little getaway. The shared facilities and room were modern and clean.
