"I just stayed here for three nights and was very pleased with the hotel, which only has about 16 rooms centered around a pool in a garden setting. The rooms were quiet, clean and very large, and the upstairs rooms have large balconies that are a great place for having drinks at the end of the day. The pool was well maintained and very refreshing after spending a day in a tuk-tuk seeing the sights of Battambang. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good. We had several meals there, both Western and Khmer, which were also delicious. My only complaint is that the don't serve real brewed coffee, only Nescafe. I just can't get used to drinking instant coffee! The location of this hotel is perfect. It's only a 10 minute walk to the central market or the shops and restaurants of downtown Battambang. I did finally find a cafe that served real coffee but unfortunately it was on my last day there. The staff of the hotel were both friendly and efficient, and we arranged our travel back to Phnom Penh through the front desk with no problems. I would give this hotel a solid 4 stars - comfortable rooms, good food and efficient staff. I would recommend this hotel unconditionally to any traveler going to Battambang."

"From start to finish we had a great stay. The staff greeted us as we arrived, with a drink and a nice introduction to the hotel. Our room was beautiful - there are several villas and they are all pretty similar from what I could see outside. The pool is nice to relax by and was perfect temperature when I was there (December). The gardens and entrance areas are lovely. The restaurant serves really delicious food which is also very good value. Anything you need the staff will help you with. It's a great place to relax as well as a base for visiting the local area. We came from Phnom Penh on the bus, but apparently this place is only 2 hrs drive from Bangkok, so this could be your first stop in Cambodia instead of Phnom Penh(saves you having to connect in Bangkok to a flight to Phnom Penh). You can take a great boat trip from here to get to Siem Reap - this is well worth doing. "

"We got a nice Tuk Tuk driver, Mr. Bernie (tel:012-910044,email:bernie_sok@yahoo.com). He speaks good English & showed/taught us a lot of extra things on the ways of our 2-days trip. Day 1:Wat Phnom Sampeau, Phnom Banan & Wat Ek Phno; Day 2: Kamping Poy & Bamboo train. We paid him USD20 per day. Mr. Lay, the manager of the hotel managed to get us fixed seats on the Premium Van from Battambang to Phnom Penh. However, it took also SIX hours to arrive, as the driver stopped whenever he wanted and drove crazily. If you don't want to be too excited, drive by BIG bus !!"

"The Ramchang is in a quiet location about two kilometers from central Battambang. This was not a problem for us since we had our own transportation, but if you are touring the Battambang Region you may have to pay considerably extra transportation costs. This can probably be significantly avoided if you book tours that INCLUDE transportation to/from the hotel. If you enjoy walking around the cities you visit, just be aware that the 1st km. toward town is a muddy, potholed road. Okay, after saying that I want to say that I really enjoyed our stay at Ramchang Guesthouse. It was quiet, our room was very nice except there is no place to hang clothing and there are no handholds in the shower (I'm 72 and handholds come in handy on a slippery floor). My mattress was quite firm which was great for my back. The small pool was kept clean and looked inviting. The grounds had interesting plantings. Breakfast was not included and was ordered off an extensive menu. We had an Asian breakfast of Big Noodles with Pork and Vegetables, Coffee and shared a Baguette with Jam for a total of $7.00. The noodle soup was the best I've had in 4 years in Cambodia. The staff were friendly and efficient. The AC in the room worked fine, but the TV reception was TERRIBLE. WiFi worked well. We will definitely return to Ramchang Guesthouse on future visits to Battambang. "

"We stayed in a double room with our 2 kids. The location is good and you can walk to many places in town (bus station, riverside, supermarket, restaurants). This hostel is clean and surprisingly quiet for its size (it’s quite big). The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a pool but is was closed when we were there. Our room and very big. The wet room was fine. We had a balcony where we leave our clothes to dry. The room didn’t have air conditioning : only one fan on the wall. It was boiling hot in attambang when we were there and even hotter in our 3rd floor room. Even our kids couldn’t sleep because it was too hot. We ended up leaving Battambang a couple of days early and the gave us our money back for the 2 last nights. Nevertheless, we recommend this hostel as it was clean and very cheap, but make sure you get AC if the weather is hot!"

"Awesome staff, clean and spacious rooms, big swimming pool with a shaded hammock area. We booked to go to the bat caves with the hotel, which was very reasonably priced and a great experience. We ate a couple of meals there and would definitely recommend the good value for money food. We loved the peaceful location, it is a 15 minute walk to the centre. "

"The service at Skyway was definitely a pleasant surprise. From the moment we arrived hotel staff were friendly and helpful, showing us up to our room and giving us tons of advice and information about touring Angkor Wat and seeing other places in the city. Because they're a bit out of the city (not that far - still walkable, or a 3 minute tuk tuk ride), they'll drive you into the center each evening for free. And whenever we needed a tuk tuk otherwise, they'd accompany us outside to help us coordinate the price. We coordinated a tuk tuk with them for our final third day at Angkor Wat, and not only did they get us a great price but they provided the driver with a little cooler of ice cold water bottles and chilled face wipes for us to use throughout the day! The breakfast was buffet-style and big, though sometimes you could tell the food had been sitting there for a bit. Fried rice, fried noodles, chicken rice porridge, fried eggs and/or omelet, sausages, tons of fruit, bread/butter/jam, coffee and tea, and probably some other things I'm forgetting. I wouldn't say the facilities were the best I've ever seen, but for the price and the pool and the customer service, totally worth it!"
