Hotels near Provincial Museum

We stumbled across this hotel, as we had made a mistake in our original booking somewhere else for the wrong moneth! So this hotel was recommended to us by another hotel, and we are glad we stayed there for our 4 days. Battambang is not very big, so most of the major places within the town were within walking distance. The outdoor swimming pool was great, and a big enough size to do some laps. There is enough sun loungers and parasols to relax on during the day. Our delux villa had a lovely pool view balcony, but we didn't use it much as it was nice to take a dip in the pool to cool off (even at night) as the pool is open until 10pm. The room was spacious, as well as the shower room. There was also a huge family sized fridge/freezer, which came in handy to cool our water/drinks/fruit/snacks. There was not much of a selection for breakfast, but the serving sizes were huge. The main thing that stood out for this hotel was the helpful staff. Even although their English wasn't the best, they tried their best to help with our tour needs/questions/transport/etc. For example, on our last day we wanted a car to take us from Battambang to Siem Reap. After a lot of negotiations from the hotel, a driver was found for us, and during our drive to Siem Reap the hotel staff called the driver's mobile to make sure that we were okay and on our merry way safely to Siem Reap. I would thoroughly recommend for people to stay at this newly opened hotel, as we enjoyed our stay here.

Loved this hotel, read previous reviews and wasn't so sure after we had booked it but couldn't fault anything (we got a room with a window but kept the curtains shut). The room was spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and attentive. We put some clothes to launder and they came back the next day, very cheap too. We had breakfast at the hotel, the food wasn't special but it was tasty and served quickly. The pool was great to cool down in. We really enjoyed the rooftop, it was peaceful with fantastic views of the city, shame it didn't have a bar, they could make a fortune from it. Would recommend highly a stay here, great value for money, would definitely go back.

My gf and I decided to stay here to visit family. This place is great for the value. The building is newer than other hotels we have stayed at in the area. The bottom floor cafe's service was great and the food was yummy. Staying at the hotel actually give you 20% off of the bill. This makes the cost of food here cheaper than the street restaurants. The Skybar however was terrible. We had went with our family who are locals. We ordered 4 drinks and 2 meals. The drinks took an hour for all 4 drinks to arrive and the meals took 2 hours to arrive. This all happened while 2 other tables that came after us got their food and ate and left well ahead of the 2 hours. We were very upset about this and eventually we asked for the meals to be canceled and we left. Not sure if they are discriminating against our family because they are darker. I cannot recommend this type of service to anyone. Summary: The hotel/cafe was great (4/5 star). The Skybar was terrible (0/5 star).

The Hotel is near the night market and riverside. The Break fast is ok. Room and bed is huge. And wide balcony. You will not regret staying in this hotel.. We had a tour the next day, and i have to commend our tuktuk driver. he is on tripadvisor Chhika on battambang tour, he is a good tour guide and driver I recommend everyone to request him if our going on a tour in Battambang. He can explain you everything to the best that he can He is student so he knows.. Everything here is very nice and friendly even the staff.. Can't say anything bad. I enjoyed my stay here..

Only good things to say about this hotel. It's clean, comfortable and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Less than 10mins walk to Street 1, 2 and 3 where the cafes are. If you arrive late Sunrise cafe is just around the corner. You can arrange for a tuk-tuk with the hotel. Only US$5 return trip to the nori/bamboo train which is a must do. It's about 15mins away. Also catch the local circus Phare for US$14 - cheaper than in Siem Reap. A fantastic show with very skilled performers ( no animals used). You can buy tickets at the hotel. The circus is about 10 minutes away by tuk-tuk (US$5 return). They arrange bus tickets as well. So convenient and at standard rates - US$6 to Siem Reap by Mekong Express mini bus which I recommend. I enjoyed my stay at Holiday Hotel Battambang. It's one of the few tall buildings around. So you can get somewhat of a view of the town if you're on the 7th or 6th floor. I'll definitely book with them again.

Starting to realise 3* in Cambodia is not the same as vietnam or Laos, but it's clean, comfy and cheap. Hotel is in a great location to get to everything in the city, and 2 minutes from capitals city centre transfer drop off. Best thing was our tuk tuk driver, chin chin, who is often around the Asia and star hotels. For $25 he took us around the countryside going to fish paste making, rice paper making, rice wine making, clay pot and bamboo stick rice making, the bamboo railway, killing cave and bat caves as well as wat Ek phnom. He was great all day and managed to help us fit in what most people do in 2 days in 1, without anything feeling rushed!

Let's start with the good things about this place... Centralized and accessible to all parts of Battambang. Walking distance to restaurants, shops.. it's right next to the market... what more can you ask for. Rooms are big. Staff are friendly and efficient. Despite being near the market, it's wonderfully quiet at night. Safe too. There's a security guard who stands watch outside (he used to be in the military). .... and now the okay stuff Water sometimes goes from hot to cold... but given the heat of the day it's a welcome blessing. Summary It's worth what you pay for and it's a great place to stay.

You get off the bus directly opposite the Star Hotel- no need for a tuktuk. The staff are very friendly and speak good English. We asked to be moved from our 'no window' room and they moved us happily to a huge room with big windows. The beds are very comfortable, the shower is electric but is hot and powerful. There is no lift but the staff took our cases up for us. The hotel is clean and we really enjoyed our staff - we would stay there again. Very good value for money. There are lots of good places to eat a short walk away - approx 10 mins. We had a fantastic two days with a tuktuk driver(and his wife)- and our last surprise from him was swimming in local river with village children. He is lovely, we took them on the bamboo train - a fun experience, he made our experience in Battambang unforgettable - ask reception at The Star to ring him for you. and please take his wife she is so sweet and lonely without him.

I stayed at Paris Hotel for one night, and it was a last minute booking. The hotel itself is in a great location, close to the central market and bus stations. The building itself is quite old and could use some updating. The room was acceptable, and the a/c was able to keep up with the heat. When I arrived, the room had no towels and toiletries or toilet paper. The plus side is I believe each room has a balcony, but it's usually too hot to enjoy being outside this time of year. Additionally, this hotel does not have wifi. Otherwise, the hotel itself was fine, the staff was friendly.

The staff provided excellent service and recommendations even prior our arrival. We requested for transfer from Siem Reap and also asked for tour recommendation and with booking of a tuk tuk driver. They were super helpful and friendly in accommodating. The hotel is small, but very charming. There is a pool in the middle and an open air dining area, both were quaint and tranquil, perfect after a hot day of sightseeing. We had a great time and highly recommend this hotel.

This is a big and old hotel. I stayed in a budget room and found it super cheap 13-14$ night. Breakfast was buffet style and it was great and loads of choices. I cannot complain as for the price I got so many things. Free gym, although not the cleanest one and some of the equipment broken I had it all to myself and was very pleased with it. The swimming pool is the biggest selling point! HUGE and super clean. There s always staff working on it and making sure it is well maintained! I enjoyed it really nice! There is a massage service up until midnight. I never had one, however, rooms looked clean and nice. Sauna, Jacuzzi and Steam only $3 per use for the guest. I really enjoyed it too. Location wise it was about 1.5 km away from the city centre, however, there are tuk-tuks and motos waiting just outside of the hotel. There is also a lovely HOME cafe just opposite of the hotel. Very nice coffee, wine and food and really nice staff. English not the strongest but please be understanding. I loved the staff there very much! My room was ok. Again for the price, I could not complain about anything. Tv, kettle, AC all working well. There was no hot water, though. I think the heater was broken. I never asked to have it fixed as the water was not too cold after all :). Overall I loved the place! Would definitely stay again!

The staff was really nice. One shorter, upbeat guy in particular who had strong English. Rest of staff was kind, and their English was basic, but they are trying very hard. Room were clean with hot water. Definite good value for the room and once they have a restaurant or more eateries near by, it will be perfect. They offer free drives into town and then you can walk back, which isn't bad. It was a 10-15 minute walk and always felt safe. Bus transfer is convenient to book through them, but by booking it direct with the company 5 min walk down the street, saved us a bit. I'm not sure about the longer full-day tours, but for the half-day tour involving the bamboo train, "lake", and caves, they might want to reevaluate it. Other drivers offered to take us to more places for the same price, but we had already agreed to it. They also make it seem like you will have a tour guide, but we really only had an English-speaking driver. There is definitely a difference. The "lake" is not worth wasting time at.
