" The Queen has been a favorite retreat from Jogja City, and long a favorite stop over at Parangtritis Beach given its incredible views and location. Unfortunately, the new effort to transform an historic property into a "resort" has completely ruined its charm. Although the new pool overlooking the cliffs is impressive, the massive development going on as the hotel has expanded it's property is unfortunate. It also seems wastewater from the second new pool being built, water full of chlorine, is being dumped straight onto the beach. Furthermore, the new "standard rooms" are a ploy - the hotel has built wooden bungalows in the former parking lot, in front the hotel, facing the one lone residence in the rice field adjacent to the entrance. Although the rooms are serviceable, it's a total scam as their location outside the entrance to the hotel is not disclosed online. Furthermore, we were woken up by the staff around midnight who were showing off their new motorbikes out the back entrance of the kitchen - directly behind our bungalow which of course has no sound insulation - just a room on a stilts in the parking lot! Complaining to the front desk staff about this got little reaction despite the fact that it woke us in the middle of the night. As a long term patron of this hotel, I was highly disappointed in my stay under the new management and likely won't be returning. "

"We chose Villa Alcheringa as it's close to the sea. The villa is located up on the hill. On the first day, there were only two of us, it was so good to feel like we're the owner of the villa. The bed is so comfortable, they even provide bolster. But the room is a bit dark, so we prefer to stay at the common space. There's a jacuzzi where you can get nice view of the ocean, the water is a bit cold. During daytime, we would sit there for hours just to look at the sea, during night, we would lie on the bench to watch the stars. We rented car + driver to Borobudur & Pranbanam. You can customise your own trip, just discuss with the villa manager and he'll arrange for you. We rented motorbike to go to the nearby Parangtritis Beach, but i still feel it's more comfortable to stay in the villa. There's also Sand Dune where you can do sand boarding. The manager brought us to Paragliding spot for sunset. As our flight is early in the morning, hence we stayed in town for one night, we really missed the ocean view & quietness in the villa, compared to the town. Highly recommend!!"
