Hotels near Merapi Mount

This is the best hotel we ever stayed. The staff are very friendly, helpful and thoughtful. We request for a morning call as our daily tour start as early as 4:00AM local time and the front desk staff never failed to follow up with us about the our preferred breakfast so that they can get their chef to prepared for us to take out. The breakfast is a complimentary with the room we booked and yet the staff is thoughtful to prepared it for us. I think the manager really train their staff well to understand the true meaning of hospitality where even a 5 star hotel might able to provide this kind of heartfelt service. The room is very clean and the bed is super comfy. Daily room service to tidy up our room was given an excellent service as well. This is a worth staying hotel as a very reasonable price lets not mentioned their buffer breakfast where we manage to enjoy it on the last day of our vacation. Thank you so much Ayaartta Hotel Malioboro, you have make my trip memorable.

For this class of hotel, everything is as expected, very clean and comfortable. 2 points of criticism: - for such a clean room, they chose to leave a dirty, rusty bottle-opener in kitchenette. Inside of electric kettle also had dirtiness. Needs more attention to detail - Check-in process took far too long, when no other people were checking in and multiple staff available. Should be able to approach counter and do whole process quickly without being asked to wait in lobby while (?) happens Very good, otherwise. Amazing views of the city and Mr. Merapi. Food was good. Breakfast was great, but tables too close to each other, felt cramped.

The exterior of Melia Purosani looks very pretty. It overlooks the cityscape and the position of our assigned room is facing where the sun rise and sets. The deluxe room is huge for 2 persons, and every day there is a complimentary snack. It's a nice gesture after a day out traveling! The restaurant where it serves breakfast has very good chef! the Nasi Padang is our favourite on the Menu. Generally the food quality and taste is above average as it suited our taste buds. One of our good experiences in Yogyarkarta! This hotel is definitely a must-visit! It's a stone throw away from Malioboro shopping district, the Ambarukko mall if you would like some variety shopping and it's a 30-45 mins away from Airport. Such ease! Thank you to the staff who worked tirelessly over the Puasa Holiday to make our experience in Yogyakarta one of the best!

Jambuluwuk is a professionally run, very friendly and modern, comfortable hotel. We loved staying here. It is an eight story hotel with all you expect in a quality hotel - internet, pool, spa, gym,tasteful outdoor patio with city & sunset views, comfy lounge bar & restaurant. We paid tiny bit more for a deluxe room & didn't regret this decision. Our very spacious,comfortable & carpeted modern room had a smallish but stylish, contemporary bathroom attached. Large windows let in lots of light, as well as views of city and Mount Merapi. Service was excellent and ALWAYS with a big smile. When we stayed there were lots of happy Indonesian families on January school holidays here.There are facilities for kids like a smaller pool & playroom, library etc. If we wanted a quiet swim, we just worked around families by appearing when kids disappeared after their morning or late afternoon swim. A basic buffet dinner was free every night - perfect for families or tired tourists like us. Buffet breakfast was great - good range of Indonesian and Western foods.My only (tiny) criticism of hotel is that alcohol prices were excessive, even for hotel prices.However, overall it was hard to fault this hotel. Would return. Can highly recommend.

This hotel is not without its problems, but it was good enough to extend our stay and go back again. The room is spacious, with a big window, but it has only one chair. There is no safe in the room. The TV is a bit small by today's standards, but works alright, and has about 60 channels. The carpets and furniture has stains but otherwise both the room and bathroom are clean, although the taps are a bit dicey. The wireless internet connection is adequate to check emails, and do bookings, not fast enough for Skype. You need a password to connect, and the login process is a bit awkward. The signal strength was reasonable (in all the 5 rooms that I've tried) but occasionally drops out for a a second or two, and reconnects automatically. The service is excellent. The front desk staff speak adequate English to be helpful. On our return they did not have the booked double room and gave twin room instead for one night. In the double room that we got next day the aircon did not work, and they gave us another room, but after we moved it turned out that they have lost the key to this room and we had to move again. However, when I asked for a complimentary dinner for two (as a compensation for the inconvenience) it was granted without hesitation. Breakfast was included in the room price. The breakfast is buffet style with ample of food and ample of choices (4 fruit juices, dozens of different food, eggs cooked freshly in any style, tea and coffee, different breads, toaster, more than half a dozen of fruits). The hotel has a swimming pool, which is clean and hardly anyone uses it. It its quite pleasant place to relax. The location is hard to comment on, it depends on where do you want to be. Malioborough Street is of course the main drag (with all sorts of shops, ATMs, supermarket etc), the hotel is on its North end and the Palace is on the South end, within walking distance. Start from check in, its make me happy, so quick, only 2 minutes. :) I booked deluxe room and the staff upgrade to executive room, :) i feel so lucky.. without any extra charges. The bell boy are friendly, his name is DITO, the room are CLEAN and BIG, AC so cold :) all perfect for me. Only one thing, probably they need to put one more light so..its not too dark in the night, we were stay in the room for 1 night because feel so tired and get food poison after eat on the street lol Its nice to stay 3 nights in this hotel, i spend 2 night in Jambuluwuk hotel, i'm prefer stay at Cavinton Hotel. The room service and the food are OK but not taste so good. All good for me. It's really nice and feel comfortable to stay in Cavinton Hotel, good price and perfect location, not too far from Malioboro street. Taxi and becak so easy from Hotel, the staff will help to organize it. Its really high recommended to stay in Cavinton Hotel and I will be back with my family and friends. Thanks.

Pros : 5 mins walk to famous shopping street malioboro or there’s also ‘becca’ port outside the hotel. Room & toilet is clean. Food is delicious or you can search for food at malioboro street. Staffs are friendly and attentive to guests. They even prepared us boxed breakfast for our 4am sunrise trip to Merapi. Will definitely be back here. Cons : None for me. Absolutely love the hotel!!

Location is great if you want to stay near Malioboro. It is a street away from Malioboro, which is a shopping area and very busy. The hotel is at the quieter end of the other street. The rooms are clean and we have a room that faces Mount Merapi. So on a clear day, the view of the mountain is amazing. Staff service is good and they were friendly. Ibis is a standard chain hotels so if you are looking for something interesting, you should look else where.

Hotel is in a central location, walkable to the infamous Malioboro street. Convenience shops and the mall is just around the block. Relatively new hotel, so not much amenities as yet. Room i took didnt have a fridge, ants came within 6hrs of leaving consumed drink. Sound insulation needs an upgrade, sounds of doors slamming along the corridor were louder than the nearby railway and the moving trains. Staff were pleasant at best.

Very strategic location which is near to jogja tugu, malioboro, pasar beringharjo and nasi kucing stall. All of these locations just 5-10 minutes walk. Can request for iron and ironing board too. Room 5017 has a very magnificient view, u can see merapi mount, jogja tugu, and hotel swimming pool from your room. Awesome! Tq The 101 Yogyakarta Tugu Hotel for the excellent hospitality..

Room was okay,place are convenence. Breakfast was average (you can’t expect a grand breakfast with 3 star hotel. Availability of table and chair for breakfast is limited. Hairdryer is not available in room,have to call reception and need to eait another 3 hour because it was lend to other guest. So please make sure you bring your own hair dryer if stay at this hotel. Overal,i give 7 of 10 for this hotel

It was a pleasant stay. We got a twin room that is spacious. Bathroom's pretty big too compared with other hotels. There were ants but I don't know if that cannot be helped in this area. There's a laundromat across the street which was very cheap. There's also a tour agency where you can get bookings for the next day. I found them cheaper than booking tours online.

The location is great - walking distance to Trans Jogja bus stop (if you are planning to use this mode of transport which can bring you to Prambanan), Malioboro street, and Keraton. Also, there is a Catholic church about 5 mins walk from the hotel, a massage place opposite the hotel (good massage at reasonable price) and if you are intending to buy local snack 'bakpia', there is a good one near the hotel about 15 mins walk or take a trickshaw for IDR 10,000 (brand Bakpiaku). Cons: i don't see any good eateries around the hotel so it is better to have your lunch/dinner first somewhere else before returning to the hotel.

My friends and I choose this hotel to stay for 2 nights for the following reasons: Location wise it is close to Malioboro where we can shop and dine anytime we want. Very near to tourist attractions. We book a Smart Twin Room, it is simple but it has everything we need, a comfortable bed, a shower and a space big enough for our luggages. We will be out the whole time during our stay, so I guess this is the best deal we got. Breakfast Buffet is good, there are quite a selection. For a 2 star hotel, I think Amaris is a good choice for budget travelers but with a good hotel experience. There is only one comment though, I hope they will use fabric conditioner with the towels, to smell good :)

The hotel is very near to Malioboro night market... The staf was so friendly and they offer me to pack my breakfast for my morning trip to Merapi... The only cons is, the hotel can't be access via car n we must walk 3-5mins to the hotel from the main street... For those who travel with many bags, this hotel is not suitable for u unless u willing to carry it on.. 😁😁

Overall was satisfied with clean and comfortable room, within few minutes walking to Malioboro street which most of the shops are selling Batik cloths. For those look for night activities this area was not so happening due to only very limited pub.I did book a 12 hours tour through this hotel to BOROBUDUR, Merapi, Prabanam and Roku Batu for Ruppiah 550,000 (only cover driver, gas and car). FYI entrance fees for Borobudur about 250,000RP, Hire a jeep for Merapi about 300,000RP and Prabanam + Roku Batu for 315,000Rp.

Great hotel with excellent range of breakfast (Indonesian and western). Location is perfect....it's 13 mins walking to Malioboro Street so you won't see and hear much noises at night. My young nephews didn't mind to walk that far. When they tired, we catched a becak for Rp 15k or Grab taxi for Rp 13k. The hotel is well guarded with friendly staff everywhere. Room is big enough and clean. During breakfast, I was glad that the management facilitated big group of guests separated from other guests so it wasn't crowded and chaotic when we had our breakfast. It was extremely great experience i had. My mom likes one of the Batik which hanging on the wall of the room entrance. we were struggling to find the same however we could not find it although searching around the whole town. Just to try our luck to buy from the hotel, surprisingly, Hotel GM willing to give it to us as a souvenir!! it was a great stay in Yogjakarta. resident are friendly, polite. peaceful, stunning mountain view as well as spectaculous unesco world heritage

The hotel is very well located at the center of tourism activities in Yogyakarta (near Malioboro). Although the road in front of the hotel is quite narrow and the hotel itself is not big (well..., big enough compared to the other hotels at the neighborhood)the service is comparable to those three stars hotels. The food for the breakfast is beyond expectation, served in not many variety but in good quality. The rooms are nice and our kids really love to stay in. Even the best always has weaknesses. The waiting time before checking in was quite long (02:00 p.m.)and the welcome drink should be better if serving the orange juices or other standard drink instead of traditional herbal drink (beras kencur) that only be preferred by limited persons.
