Find hotels in Kasongan Travel Village

We arrived 11:30am, we are told that 2pm is the check in time so we left our luggage for safekeeping and headed outside for Lunch. There are PLENTY of options to choose from- from cheap eats to mid-range all are in close proximity from this hotel. Walk a few blocks, there is also a pharmacy nearby to buy some for your emergency kit. There is also a big grocery store near that pharmacy. After we ate our lunch we went back for check in. While waiting, you can drink lemon water and or cucumber water available beside the reception counter. Wifi is great. Later on a staff appeared along with our luggage to accompany us to our room. The Room: we booked a Superior class room. It is nice with a rectangular sofa at the front of the bed. There are 2 Free water bottles, coffee, creamer, sugar packets and heating kettle on the side table. Nice flat screen TV. Aaand, my favorite part- bed and pillows are so comfy and soft ❤️ Comfort room is ok, equipped with hair blower and typical shower combo of soap, hair cap, dental kit, shampoo, shower gel. The only thing I don’t like is this- Towels have this smell- a familiar one to me- a smell that seems like a strong bleach. Not nice smelling. Shower can be hot or cold real quick depends on your liking. They also have slippers, and they are made of thin rubber. Inside the room there is a closet with hangers for your clothes, trash bin, and a mini ref with some goodies inside for sale. There is also food menu on the table side in case you want room service. Breakfast: My favorite part ❤️ Buffet breakfast with decent array of choices- you can request them to make waffles, crepes and there is an Egg station, traditional food station, sausages, chicken, beef, veggies, fruits, salad counter, bread counter with jams, butter, little cakes, Juices- 5 kinds - coffee is brewed and readily available, tea ( they use Dilmah packet in diff flavors). We spent two nights at Lynn Hotel and we felt so confortable very quick and really taken care of by the staff, especially the General Manager, Mr. Bambang, who is the nicest and professional person I ever met. He gave us so many advices and very good tips on what to do after Yogyakarta and became our true friend. All his staff worked very well and were so nice to us such as Andri, Jeny, Anton, Monica, etc. We are travelling for already 6 months and I must say that I haven't seen such a great service in any hotel we stayed during our trip. The hotel itself is very nice, well decorated and very clean such as the rooms and it provides all the necessary facilities. The swimming pool is also very clean and big. The restaurant is so nice and the food absolutely delicious thanks to the Chef Andri. It is also very well located, near the nice backpacker street of Prawirotaman and at 20mn-walk or 05mn-car to Malioboro street. DON'T MISS IT IF YOU STAY AT YOGYA!!

We are on a backpacking holiday....but couldn't resist upping the budget just a bit to stay in such a luxurious hotel for still a really great price. The location is good, very close to Prawirotaman road with all the restaurants and bars. Feeling a bit templed out from our travels, having seen Angkor Wat, we decided to forego Borobudur and hire a becak for a day (very very cheap) and see the sites in Yogjakarta (ask for Bagio who usually situates himself outside the Grand palace...he was wonderful!). Recommend hiring a guide to see the Taman Sari (water palace) otherwise you won't see what you need to see.....its a lot of twisting alleys. UNESCO are apparently restoring it soon to how it was centuries ago...it's a very interesting place. Although sadly it will mean displacing the 500 inhabitants! As far as restaurants go, everyone heads for Via Via. Although we felt it was not a patch on another restaurant on the other side, before you get to Via Via, name escapes me, but has a black and white chequered sign with lots of colored lanterns. Ask for the Indonesian vegetable and coconut dish! The staff and ambience are wonderful.

This hotel is located in a smaller 1 lane aisle leading to the main road. You can walk to mini mart or pub which is located on the main road. Room is ok for this price. I got a 2 single bed as they run out of room with double. My room has a balcony facing the front entrance but it was not noisy. Hotel is clean but it has seen it's greater days. Breakfast is served, again, appropriate for the price you pay. It's not grand but enough and filling. Staff has limited vocab in English but they are helpful. My complain would be the water pressure for shower is significantly on the low side but hot water is available.

Generally it was optimal accomodation. we are budget travelers and for us it was for reasonable price, very clean and comfort and breakfast was just awesome. Big plus is that in restaurant they have pack (food and drink) and it's cheap and tasty. Big and nice pool. Personal i very helpfull and kind. One only think (but it's not really minus but moreless personal note) - music on breakfast start to be after some time very annoying...

yogyakarta is known as the centre of art and culture in java. we found all of it in a single place, wrapped in a package called hotel d'omah run but a man called warrick purser. not enough can be said about this garden of eden.  this isn't just a hotel. it is a living breathing village that just happens to take in guests.  with warricks personal touch we believe this hotel is one of our favorite  five star hotels at much less than standard five star prices.  lived in a little village called tembi south of yogyakarta for 15 years where he founded his business 'out of asia' which exports the work of yogyakarta's artists to the world. in 2006 the village was leveled by a massive earthquake which damaged much of yogyakarta including warrick's home. instead of pulling the plug warrick decided to utilize the remains of many of the village houses (principally the housing joists and carved wooden doors) to build a hotel styled on the theme  of a javanese village with each room showing some of the unique character of the area. with new walls and modern conveniences (beautiful open air but under cover bathrooms) each set of rooms at the d'omah has a wonderfully old style javanese feel with modern conveniences, their own beautifully set out and comfortable lounging areas and pool. the amenities are meticulously planned, rooms come with ear plugs for the local mosques, mozzie spray, international  adaptors, emergency lamps and ours had its own aviary.  the hotel is full of magnificent pieces of art that we wanted to take home (if our house was big enough). this hotel felt like the indonesian home we have always wanted and the staff made us feel exceptionally welcome and met out every request (some we haddn'te named) with a smile. the really impressive bit however is engagement with the tembi village. to bring money into the decimated village has funded a number of micro-credit projects (i believe 16) whose businesses he then supports (guest laundry

overall this was an ok place to spend a couple of nights; some things were good, but there were also some drawbacks that left us only lukewarm about it. the staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions or needed something (and spoke enough english that we never had to resort our broken bahasa), and they even served us breakfast after noon on two of the three mornings we stayed. they were great. the location of the hotel is close to both the kraton and the tourist area of jl. prawirotaman i-iv, but it's a long walk to jl. prawirotaman (15 minutes at least, and possibly further depending on where you're going on those gangs) on streets that were deserted in places. so you might want to take a becak when coming home from dinner. the air conditioner in the room worked, but felt underpowered to cool the volume of the (fairly large) room, so it took a long time for the room to cool down. keeping the bathroom door closed helped cut the airspace and improve the time for the room to cool, but then the bathroom's hot when you use it. they really should consider a stronger air conditioner at the price point. the hot water was hot and plentiful (though you did have to wait a couple of minutes, long enough to wonder if it was going to get hot). but the wall bracket for the shower wand wasn't well positioned and wasn't adjustable, so the water went all over the bathroom. our biggest complaint (and one that others may not mind) was that the listing on agoda.com says that the room has a desk, which isn't accurate. (other sites don't list that as a room feature, so it's not clear if the error is hotel ananda's or agoda's.) others may not care about that, but since we booked the room specifically to have an air-conditioned place to write thank-you notes for several days, we were displeased with the inaccurate advertising.

Nice hotel with patio full of plants in a good quiet locality, nice personnel but no english speaking, good breakfast especially omelette with potatoes, wifi is fast but just near the reception and in parts of patio on the lower floor. I had 31 degrees Celsius in my room after long use of fan (fast one on the wall) with open door and windows on sunny days without rain when there was in patio around 28 in the evening.
