This is the best hotel we ever stayed. The staff are very friendly, helpful and thoughtful. We request for a morning call as our daily tour start as early as 4:00AM local time and the front desk staff never failed to follow up with us about the our preferred breakfast so that they can get their chef to prepared for us to take out. The breakfast is a complimentary with the room we booked and yet the staff is thoughtful to prepared it for us. I think the manager really train their staff well to understand the true meaning of hospitality where even a 5 star hotel might able to provide this kind of heartfelt service. The room is very clean and the bed is super comfy. Daily room service to tidy up our room was given an excellent service as well. This is a worth staying hotel as a very reasonable price lets not mentioned their buffer breakfast where we manage to enjoy it on the last day of our vacation. Thank you so much Ayaartta Hotel Malioboro, you have make my trip memorable.

We enjoyed our stay at the Swiss-belhotel. The hotel was brand new and everything was still clean and spotless. We stayed in the Grand Deluxe Room and the room was huge and spacious, there was plenty of room between the foot of the bed and the TV, ideal if you need an extra bed in. Breakfast was OK, large selection but taste was so-so. The only con was checking-in; we had booked 2 rooms and arrived at the hotel at around 3pm, and we were told that only 1 room was ready while the other room needs another hour before we could check in. So we all had to stay in 1 room for about an hour before we could check in, and even then the staff didn't immediately notify us. We only found out that we could already check into the other room once we had called into reception.

The exterior of Melia Purosani looks very pretty. It overlooks the cityscape and the position of our assigned room is facing where the sun rise and sets. The deluxe room is huge for 2 persons, and every day there is a complimentary snack. It's a nice gesture after a day out traveling! The restaurant where it serves breakfast has very good chef! the Nasi Padang is our favourite on the Menu. Generally the food quality and taste is above average as it suited our taste buds. One of our good experiences in Yogyarkarta! This hotel is definitely a must-visit! It's a stone throw away from Malioboro shopping district, the Ambarukko mall if you would like some variety shopping and it's a 30-45 mins away from Airport. Such ease! Thank you to the staff who worked tirelessly over the Puasa Holiday to make our experience in Yogyakarta one of the best!

We booked four rooms during our trip to Yogyakarta. The staffs are amazing, they do their best to meet our needs. We requested for connecting rooms and they fulfil our request. We love the pools and also the outdoor garden. The only improvement for them is to clean the room carpet as stains are visible. We had wedang ronde (ginger drink) at night and the peanut we had were stale and they have no kolang kaling / palm fruit / atap seed. We didnt have breakfast there so I can't comment on that. The hotel is located within walking distance from malioboro street, but far enough so we were not stuck in traffic. Nearby the hotel, there is a gudeg place that is nice and cheap. We love our stays there and will come back again when we go to Yogyakarta

Grand Inna is the perfect location if you want to visit Malioboro street. Although we did enjoy the horse and cart ride down Malioboro street, I personally think Malioboro street is no great attraction since I just consider it to be a dirty and extremely crowded area that offers little other than subpar food and shops that sell cheap but worthless items. So I prefer to stay in a bit nicer area. Someone tried to steal my girlfriend's purse while we were walking down Malioboro street. We had separated at the time, luckily she was able to fight them off and retain her purse. In my opinion, the shops at Borobudur provide better deals anyway, so there's no need for a tourist to shop at Malioboro street if they intend to visit Borobudur. But Malioboro is a popular tourist attraction there in Jogja and if that's what you want to be near, this hotel is great. Watch out for pick-pockets and bag snatchers though. The staff at Grand Inna were quite welcoming. The pool was pretty good and massage was not bad at all. The breakfast was quite good. This hotel is classic traditional Indonesia style. It's an older hotel, but has been fairly well maintained and does have live traditional music played regularly. There are other newer hotels in the area, but they lack the traditional Indonesian feel that you find at Grand Inna. Everything about the hotel was positive with once exception, we were extremely jet lagged after a long journey and unfortunately had to change rooms because the air conditioning in our room broke at around 10pm, and by 11pm it got quite hot in the room and we couldn't sleep. They did move us to another room so that wasn't too big an inconvenience. Bottom line is I really liked the hotel and staff, but didn't particularly like the area since I am not a fan of Malioboro street. Borobudur and Prambanan were great as always, but I feel the entry fee is overpriced now at over 500,000 rupiah to visit them. My first trip to visit those places in the early 2000's,

I visited Jogja for one night and needed a room with easy access to Jalan Malioboro. My goal was to find one that's cheap and clean. After extensive research of other properties in the area, I decided to go with this Hotel Neo Malioboro. It's located less than five minutes walk to Jalan Malioboro and in my opinion, in the better part of the strip. Checking in at 7pm, our request for a room with a large bed and on a higher floor was honored by the check in staff Ken. I must admit he was understaffed as he was working alone with 4 people in line. It took me around 15 minutes for what could've been a simple check-in. Arrived in our room and was surprised at how nice it was. The room has modern decor, with slippers and coffee maker provided. Even international standard plug was one of the power outlets. The internet was fast from the room and the shower water pressure was strong. Room safe was provided as well. We had a good night rest even though there were train noise and honk from the overnight bus across from the hotel. A call of prayer for the Muslim also can be heard nearby. Didn't really bother us because that's what traveling is about, is to experience another culture. But may be a problem if you're a light sleeper, or simply miserable and make big deals over little things in life. Free breakfast had extensive selections, "almost" similar to what you would find in a 4 star hotels. And the dining staff were friendly and courteous. The food was super yummy. Requested late check-out and had to beg and given a 1:30pm time. Otherwise, 1pm wouldn't be a problem. After checked out, I was given the option to leave my luggage so I can explore the city without them. Will not hesitate to return to this hotel. I hope they will keep up the courteous service and maintain the cleanliness of this hotel or otherwise they would just be "another hotel" in Jogjakarta. Highly recommended!

Start from check in, its make me happy, so quick, only 2 minutes. :) I booked deluxe room and the staff upgrade to executive room, :) i feel so lucky.. without any extra charges. The bell boy are friendly, his name is DITO, the room are CLEAN and BIG, AC so cold :) all perfect for me. Only one thing, probably they need to put one more light so..its not too dark in the night, we were stay in the room for 1 night because feel so tired and get food poison after eat on the street lol Its nice to stay 3 nights in this hotel, i spend 2 night in Jambuluwuk hotel, i'm prefer stay at Cavinton Hotel. The room service and the food are OK but not taste so good. All good for me. It's really nice and feel comfortable to stay in Cavinton Hotel, good price and perfect location, not too far from Malioboro street. Taxi and becak so easy from Hotel, the staff will help to organize it. Its really high recommended to stay in Cavinton Hotel and I will be back with my family and friends. Thanks.

Nice room, though moist air which could be cleared if aircondition was installed in the room. Restaurant with nice food, though very pricey (as expected I guess..). Serves some of the best French fries I've ever eaten. Front desk staff was incompetent, dishonest and forgetful when we booked trips! Staff recommended trip to nearby waterfall and charged 500000 IDR for return trip to the waterfall - they just "forgot" to tell us about the local mafia charging road entrance fee of 20000 IDR, and on arrival to the village at the waterfall 100000 IDR for a mandatory guide to the waterfall! We paid the road fee but of course didn't want to say the 100000. Staff wouldn't refund the tour fee even though they said the 500000 was the complete price to go to and back from the waterfall! The jeep tour to Bromo sunrise viewpoint and accessing Bromo crater was 650000 IDR - but they "forgot" to inform us that the dropoff point was FAR from the viewpoint, and the same with dropoff point for Bromo crater! So all in all, the hotel was OK, but front desk staff performance was TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

Enjoyed our stay, we booked for one night. The hotel was very clean, the staff is very friendly and the breakfast is outstanding! We liked it so much that we booked for two extra nights. We have been travelling for 2 months straight now in asia m, but this has to be the best and most choice breakfast we have seen so far. They have almost everything! I would give this hotel the maximum score if they also had a gym. But thats personal.

When I want to the hotel I feel the energy, fresh, bright colour in the lobby, the room nice lime green with wooden furniture. Just nice match and the shower they use rain forest style, which you will in holiday. Specially the staff full of smile and really helpful, the room service really fast really good, most of 5 star hotel I have waiting for 45 min, but they less than that, remember this is 3 star only and food is very nice I order Pecel Ayam for lunch and next day too. I have to thank you one of the staff name is Ms mutiara, co. the second day we want to see a sunrise earlier in the morning which the cafe not open yet, I request can help me to pack a light breakfast,she really sweet said yes, not a problem and is free of charge. I feel is not the money they just 3 star hotel but the staff can help like I stay in the 5 star hotel service.

Over the past year we have spent 3 months travelling throughout SE Asia and this hotel is my favorite of any place we have stayed. The hotel looks brand new. From the location, the facilities, cleanliness and the value for money, this hotel simply can't be beat! But if that isn't enough, the staff here are some of the most friendly, helpful we have met anywhere. We felt like we received the service one would expect from a 5 star resort. We felt like we were were part of the family. And thanks to some Javanese language lessons from the head chef, our entire trip will be one we will never forget! You simply won't find a better hotel for the money. In fact, I doubt you could find a better hotel for twice the money! I can't wait to come back some day.

My experience at the Phoenix was amazing. I have been in Indonesia for one year and was looking forward to being treated to the old world charm of a bygone era. The hotel is old, very old...this does not distract from anything but offers the charm of reading rooms and high ceilings and well established gardens, and an amazing collection of ceramics all tastefully placed alone corridors and outside lift doors. My room was tastefully decorated with interesting mirrors and lamps and the balcony with table and chairs, the bed comfortable and WiFi excellent. I booked the lowest rate room, it was old, the bathroom had not been refurbished but was totally functional. The only pboblem I had was the room leaked one night due to the airconditioning outlet. This was fixed promptly when I let them know. The breakfast was amazing.....Best yet....Every nationality was catered for... The evening meal (only ate once) was well presented and tasty, the service was excellent. The grand piano was a delightful addition as it was played superbly.

Booked 2 rooms for 3 nights at 101 was one of my best money ever spent. rooms are new and clean, staffs verfy helpfull eventhough for guess with cars there's very limited parking space (free valet service available). the view from hi-tea spot is great. my only regret for hi-tea was why there's only one complimentary session per room, when there should be 3 complimentary since i booked for 3 nights, or must i reserved in different names and days in a row? one thing may i suggest, the door closer in every room slams the door, it disturb my baby and everyone whose trying to sleep. the 101 hotels must find a way to keep that door closer closed firmly in silence. beside that, it's a perfect comparison between price and place. various meal for breakfast and half rate for kids breakfast, still cheaper compared to other hotels even with 3 stars hotel at malioboro. looking forward to come back next holiday season with my family...

Room was okay,place are convenence. Breakfast was average (you can’t expect a grand breakfast with 3 star hotel. Availability of table and chair for breakfast is limited. Hairdryer is not available in room,have to call reception and need to eait another 3 hour because it was lend to other guest. So please make sure you bring your own hair dryer if stay at this hotel. Overal,i give 7 of 10 for this hotel

It was a pleasant stay. We got a twin room that is spacious. Bathroom's pretty big too compared with other hotels. There were ants but I don't know if that cannot be helped in this area. There's a laundromat across the street which was very cheap. There's also a tour agency where you can get bookings for the next day. I found them cheaper than booking tours online.

The location is great - walking distance to Trans Jogja bus stop (if you are planning to use this mode of transport which can bring you to Prambanan), Malioboro street, and Keraton. Also, there is a Catholic church about 5 mins walk from the hotel, a massage place opposite the hotel (good massage at reasonable price) and if you are intending to buy local snack 'bakpia', there is a good one near the hotel about 15 mins walk or take a trickshaw for IDR 10,000 (brand Bakpiaku). Cons: i don't see any good eateries around the hotel so it is better to have your lunch/dinner first somewhere else before returning to the hotel.

My friends and I choose this hotel to stay for 2 nights for the following reasons: Location wise it is close to Malioboro where we can shop and dine anytime we want. Very near to tourist attractions. We book a Smart Twin Room, it is simple but it has everything we need, a comfortable bed, a shower and a space big enough for our luggages. We will be out the whole time during our stay, so I guess this is the best deal we got. Breakfast Buffet is good, there are quite a selection. For a 2 star hotel, I think Amaris is a good choice for budget travelers but with a good hotel experience. There is only one comment though, I hope they will use fabric conditioner with the towels, to smell good :)

I have travelled to many countries as a tourist and for business. I have stayed in many hotels but this is by far the best 4 stars hotel I have ever come across. The staff were very attentive, helpful and full of smiles and well mannered. Not just in the hotel, I found people in Jogja are very friendly too. The buffet breakfast has so much variety and very good quality. The hotel has old style Javaish design and yet looks very new. Their attention to details can be seen in through the hotel cleanliness and thier care for customers. Higly recommend this to anyone visiting Jogja.

Pros: Close to the malls and easy accesss to the shops nearby Friendly staff If you want to buy cheap clothes, the store is next to this hotel. Can bargain and the price is cheaper than the ones sold at the Malioboro St. Cons: Quite a hidden place where the car cant go in and the supir can only drop you from far (not advisable to those with lots of bags. In the early morning, there were so many young teenagers hanging out in the balcony. I smiled at them and they just ignored it. Maybe they were not the staff but the reply was quite rude. The toilet door can't be closed because it was broken.

its quite near from jalan malioboro, walk 5minutes and you arrived. or you can took becak for 5k rupiah only to arrive in jalan malioboro. good budget hotel. its a clean room for me. will booked for another trip if i visit jogja with my friends. and tha staff is nice, cause reccomend us for so place worth to visit in jogja. and even the security in the front of hotel is super nice. he call for our online taxi to pickin up us. and also nasi pecel in front of the hotel in the morning is very nice and cheap, its only 10k rupiah.

Had a room at the 5th floor, with a terrace overlooking the skyline near the lift lobby. very quiet, not noisy at all. Excellent customer service. Room was bare minimum with attached toilet and shower, enough for me and my wife. No wardrobe,fridge, safe box in the room. Bottled mineral water is provided in the room. Surrounding the hotel are some of the best local food you can find. Right at the heart and beginning of Malioboro street. The hotel is adjacent to Malioboro Mall, where you can find the usual fast foods (didn't try it though, prefer to try local food). Wifi is very weak in the room, except for the lobby area. Breakfast was limited to a main meal and some side meals. (Indonesian cuisine only). We had our driver/guide. very knowledgeable, on time service, even at the crack of dawn, and he knows Yogyakarta very well. You can even have customize tour at affordable rates. Foods to try and recommended: 1) Nasi Gudeg 2) Nasi Rames 3) Terang Bulan (Apam Balik) 4) Sate Ayam (the ones sold by the Javanese Women at the square at the end of Malioboro street, towards Kraton) 5) Ayam Goreng Suharti Resto 6) Grilled Gurame at Kali Opak Resto, near Prambanan Temple

This was my first time staying at the POP hotel anywhere. My first impression of the building is okay. It is a simple architecture, with colorful window frames. The lobby is nice, its clean and open air, no air-conditions in the lobby. The registration desk is very small, to me it is more like a concierge desk rather than a registration desk. Registration is a breeze, they gave me a plastic key card for the room but first, I need to put a deposit of about US$ 2 for the key. I stayed on the 2nd floor and I took the stairs to my room although Lifts are available. The hall way to my room is clean and bright, I like this. Each doors to the rooms have different colors, this is cool. Nothing fancy. Entering the room, my first impression was great, because the room size is bigger than what I have imagined. It has a wall mount LCD TV with cable. One king size bed, a side table, a small size shower and toilet room, a sink that is located outside the shower room with mirror and some open cabinets for your stuffs with a safe deposit box in it. The hotel also has free wifi. Great! Overall experience in this hotel is great, the price is good for my wallet, and yes, I will return to this hotel again.

Stayed 2 nights. Staff were very friendly, got a free upgrade to a better room. Swimming pool and bar on the roof. Ideal location, just off the shopping street and next to the main tour booking street. Also short walk to the sultans palace. For me very important: the hotel was very clean! During the day we saw things being cleaned (table legs, skirting boards etc) which I'm sure most western hotels never clean. The only thing that could have been better is less noise. The best rooms are on the 6th floor, as is the pool, so from early in the morning the lift and the children made quite a lot of noise. Would definately book again though!

Great hotel with excellent range of breakfast (Indonesian and western). Location is perfect....it's 13 mins walking to Malioboro Street so you won't see and hear much noises at night. My young nephews didn't mind to walk that far. When they tired, we catched a becak for Rp 15k or Grab taxi for Rp 13k. The hotel is well guarded with friendly staff everywhere. Room is big enough and clean. During breakfast, I was glad that the management facilitated big group of guests separated from other guests so it wasn't crowded and chaotic when we had our breakfast. The hotel consists of 2 main buildings that's connected with stairs. The main obvious difference between the two are from the floor, one is with carpet floor and the other is without carpet floor. We stayed in the room without carpet floor. The room seems old, yet clean and big. The best part of this hotel is on its location, very nearby the famous Malioboro street. The staff also friendly and provide good service. Overall, it's a good and recommended hotel.

Both rooms have mosquitoes, I have complained to the reception several times as my room was very hot because the air-con was really damn sucked, I wanted to order for room service as my kids was hungry and its room service ended at 9.30pm at Indonesia time, they cleaned both rooms but they never changed the bed covered as its very dirty until my son got bedbugs when reached in Singapore and I need to bring him to see doctor. Lastly its very noisy when the students stayed at this hotel as I also have highlighted & complained at the reception that the students played along the corridor, playing at the staircase, made a lot of noise, called up several times in the middle of the night at my kids room as my kids couldn't slept on that night because need to pickup the phone and also liked to knocked at my kids room too. I am very disappointed such as I have already made a complaint at the reception but they didn't take any action. This is my horrible stay at this Grand Puri Saron Hotel.
