"For us, this guesthouse was perfect! We usually stay in cheaper places (or similar priced places which are by far not so nice) and found this place really luxurious. Our room was spacious, cosy and comfortable with everything you need (aircon, fan, wifi, fridge, big comfortable bed, bedside lamp with soft light, nice sitting area, closet, table, tv, window and bathroom, of course). Staff, mostly young men, was friendly, cheerful and professional and we didn't feel pushed to anything by them. The tuktuk driver (Peter) is a very nice young man. He drives very safely and we enjoyed our trips with him. Location is good - quiet and close to restaurants and markets. The pool at the sister hotel around the corner is a great bonus and it's really not far away (150m). The only thing that could be improved there is the toilet/shower/changing room area. And one minor thing about the room: at night I could hear a buzzing/humming/vibrating sound coming from outside the room. Maybe it was the aircon machines outside on the wall. I'm rather sensitive to such noises and it disturbed me a little bit at night. Still, we had a seriously pleasant stay and can recommend lux guesthouse to everyone :) "

"Pomme Hostel is one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Owners and staff are great - more personable than any staff I’ve met in Cambodia. Had a great few evenings chatting (and drinking) with them into the night. The bar is one of the “places to be” in Battambang (live music, trivia, daily happy hour, a selection of beers on tap including Cambodian craft beer), but it doesnt stay loud too late in the evening. The rooms are basic and small and get a little warm, but they’re also incredible value for the money. They offer tours (highly recommended - we did the full day and the cooking class with Smokin Pot) and will book your travel. Put simply, we loved this place and you will too. "

"I just stayed here for three nights and was very pleased with the hotel, which only has about 16 rooms centered around a pool in a garden setting. The rooms were quiet, clean and very large, and the upstairs rooms have large balconies that are a great place for having drinks at the end of the day. The pool was well maintained and very refreshing after spending a day in a tuk-tuk seeing the sights of Battambang. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good. We had several meals there, both Western and Khmer, which were also delicious. My only complaint is that the don't serve real brewed coffee, only Nescafe. I just can't get used to drinking instant coffee! The location of this hotel is perfect. It's only a 10 minute walk to the central market or the shops and restaurants of downtown Battambang. I did finally find a cafe that served real coffee but unfortunately it was on my last day there. The staff of the hotel were both friendly and efficient, and we arranged our travel back to Phnom Penh through the front desk with no problems. I would give this hotel a solid 4 stars - comfortable rooms, good food and efficient staff. I would recommend this hotel unconditionally to any traveler going to Battambang."

"The Royal is a perfect base for exploring Battambang. it is right by the central market and has plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. the hotel had a tuk-tuk waiting for us when we arrived and we hadn't even advised what bus we were arriving on! We booked a great tuk-tuk tour to the bamboo train, caves and bats through reception. The staff are so kind and friendly all addressing by our names and could not be more helpful. The rooms were basic, but comfortable and functional. Breakfast was served on the rooftop, a good selection of continental breakfast items and great coffee. On checkout we were both presented with a little gift which really meant a lot! Thank you Royal Hotel!!"

"I chose this hotel because I did not want to be on the residential side of the river nor in the busy city center. The hotel is a pleasant 10 to 15 minute stroll from the market area and nearby restaurants. Breakfast in the vast dining area is somewhat limited for such a large hotel, and is exactly the same every day. Sometimes you must wait for the lady who cooks the eggs to appear. The pool area is in the sun most of the day and is very pleasant. "
