This is the best hotel we ever stayed. The staff are very friendly, helpful and thoughtful. We request for a morning call as our daily tour start as early as 4:00AM local time and the front desk staff never failed to follow up with us about the our preferred breakfast so that they can get their chef to prepared for us to take out. The breakfast is a complimentary with the room we booked and yet the staff is thoughtful to prepared it for us. I think the manager really train their staff well to understand the true meaning of hospitality where even a 5 star hotel might able to provide this kind of heartfelt service. The room is very clean and the bed is super comfy. Daily room service to tidy up our room was given an excellent service as well. This is a worth staying hotel as a very reasonable price lets not mentioned their buffer breakfast where we manage to enjoy it on the last day of our vacation. Thank you so much Ayaartta Hotel Malioboro, you have make my trip memorable.

Housekeeping staff completely forgot to refill the shampoo and shower gel after their cleaning! Obviously they are lack of training and are careless for their duty. Dark stains are found at the back of toilet' s cover. Fortunately their breakfast is pretty good by providing a wide variety of food for selection, including very Indonesia style fried rice, baked chicken and tropical fruit - Salak. And their staff is also helpful and responsive to my complaint on shampoo not refreshment, even though their apology was delivered at next morning day in quite slow temper manner. All of all, they are a good hotel located in downtown zone with couples minutes walk to main street - Malioboro street. Good facilities including interesting Indonesian entertainment instrument playing every morning at lobby. They are worthy of your money spending.

We spent the final 3 days of our Indonesia trip in the Jambuluwuk Hotel. Situated a few hundred metres off Malioboro street, it provides a good place to explore the city and its surroundings IF one is prepared to walk 10 minutes on foot to Malioboro street (or to accept cheap local transport from the hotel gate). The room was nice, we only lacked room to put our belongings in the bathroom and had to struggle with the shower to make the water come out in the right place. All in all, a very pleasant stay (and quiet at night, which was perfect for us at a price of less than 30 € per night. We cannot comment on the food since we never ate there, but I have to rate it, so the 5 stars there are mere hearsay.

yogya is one of the most interesting places to visit in indonesia. it is large, varied and offers direct access to world class buddhist temples... as well as showcases indonesian arts and crafts [especially batik]. but accessing these things can be more difficult if one's location is not central. garuda hotel has the very best location.. and its services and staff just add to the visitor's enjoyment! when i return i will definitely stay at the garuda!!

I visited Jogja for one night and needed a room with easy access to Jalan Malioboro. My goal was to find one that's cheap and clean. After extensive research of other properties in the area, I decided to go with this Hotel Neo Malioboro. It's located less than five minutes walk to Jalan Malioboro and in my opinion, in the better part of the strip. Checking in at 7pm, our request for a room with a large bed and on a higher floor was honored by the check in staff Ken. I must admit he was understaffed as he was working alone with 4 people in line. It took me around 15 minutes for what could've been a simple check-in. Arrived in our room and was surprised at how nice it was. The room has modern decor, with slippers and coffee maker provided. Even international standard plug was one of the power outlets. The internet was fast from the room and the shower water pressure was strong. Room safe was provided as well. We had a good night rest even though there were train noise and honk from the overnight bus across from the hotel. A call of prayer for the Muslim also can be heard nearby. Didn't really bother us because that's what traveling is about, is to experience another culture. But may be a problem if you're a light sleeper, or simply miserable and make big deals over little things in life. Free breakfast had extensive selections, "almost" similar to what you would find in a 4 star hotels. And the dining staff were friendly and courteous. The food was super yummy. Requested late check-out and had to beg and given a 1:30pm time. Otherwise, 1pm wouldn't be a problem. After checked out, I was given the option to leave my luggage so I can explore the city without them. Will not hesitate to return to this hotel. I hope they will keep up the courteous service and maintain the cleanliness of this hotel or otherwise they would just be "another hotel" in Jogjakarta. Highly recommended!

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Why I chose this hotel? It because many travellers from Indonesia and outside rated it as excellent hotel in Jogja. This hotel located about 10 - 15 minutes walking from Malioboro and Taman Pintar. Also located near the Bakpia Pathuk shops. I got my room upgraded to excecutive room (wooow) without any additional charge. The room is spacy, so we didn't feel in the small room. This hotel is have good breakfast quality. The service from front desk and staffs were good. I think the price is also cheap enough compared to waht we got here.

Recently booked this hotel for one night, the room is very spacious and clean, all their staff is very friendly and polite, worth the money, but what more important is their service, I forgot to pick my jacket when i checked out and call them once I got home, they found it and ship it immediately without asking me the shipping fee first, I already received the jacket just now, and still waiting how much it's cost and their bank account number messaged to me, overall very satisfied, I'll recommend to everyone going to Yogyakarta, definitely will book again if I got chance in the future.

We didn't spend most of our time in the hotel, however it was a good experience. Few notable items from my trip: 1. I booked 4 rooms with all twin beds, however when we arrived, they can only provide 1 room with twin beds, the others are not 2. Breakfast was the best! So many choices, mostly local food and some fresh juices. 3. Plenty parking spots (they have their own basement), and free parking for guests which is great

my stay at the all seasons was wonderful. i am very, very happy with this hotel and will definitely stay here again the next time i am in yogyakarta. the hotel is very new and decorated in a fun, bright colour scheme. the rooms were big and comfortable, with a lovely big shower and plenty of storage space for all my luggage. there is an ipod dock in each room and a modern lcd tv. my favourite part of this hotel is the sky bar and pool area on the 7th floor. i thought this was the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of jalan malioboro. from here, you can sip a cocktail in the pool and watch the sunset. i have lived in indonesia for a while, and this hotel offers the best cocktails i have found in this country. the food served at the sky bar is also delicious, and the service is perfect - which is hard to come by in this country. my only complaint about this hotel is that the breakfast downstairs on the 1st floor did not include a lot of western food. there was only 2 boring cereals, stale bread, a few tiny pastries and 2 kinds of fruit. my friend ordered eggs, which never arrived. this was disappointing, considering that half the guests were western, and did not have enough food to eat, and also disappointing given the fantastic standard of every other aspect of the hotel. despite the breakfast, i would recommend this hotel to anyone. the position is about 5 minutes walk to jalan malioboro. it is the perfect relaxing base for a trip to yogyakarta.

Hotel is in a central location, walkable to the infamous Malioboro street. Convenience shops and the mall is just around the block. Relatively new hotel, so not much amenities as yet. Room i took didnt have a fridge, ants came within 6hrs of leaving consumed drink. Sound insulation needs an upgrade, sounds of doors slamming along the corridor were louder than the nearby railway and the moving trains. Staff were pleasant at best.

Over the past year we have spent 3 months travelling throughout SE Asia and this hotel is my favorite of any place we have stayed. The hotel looks brand new. From the location, the facilities, cleanliness and the value for money, this hotel simply can't be beat! But if that isn't enough, the staff here are some of the most friendly, helpful we have met anywhere. We felt like we received the service one would expect from a 5 star resort. We felt like we were were part of the family. And thanks to some Javanese language lessons from the head chef, our entire trip will be one we will never forget! You simply won't find a better hotel for the money. In fact, I doubt you could find a better hotel for twice the money! I can't wait to come back some day.

with many new boutique hotels sprouting around malioboro, i thought why spend more for a hotel when i could go to one of those newer motels. i couldn't be more wrong! not only does the hotel provide quick access to the malioboro mall (it has its own "privilege access doorway"), the rooms are pretty spacious and the service excellent. i was pleasantly surprised with the service competency of the front desk (they speak good english). this is one of the hotels where the workers go the "extra mile" to help you. the only complaint i have is that the hotel is undergoing some cleaning and minor renovations. but hey, that's good coz it shows they are keeping up with maintenance, which many hotels/motels in indonesia are notoriously lacking in. i've been traveling over 9 years in indonesia. this is a hotel i'd definitely recommend for anyone who wants to be around the malioboro area. afterall, paying extra usd5 gets you all the above without having to worry about safety, cleanliness and competency!

Booked 2 rooms for 3 nights at 101 was one of my best money ever spent. rooms are new and clean, staffs verfy helpfull eventhough for guess with cars there's very limited parking space (free valet service available). the view from hi-tea spot is great. my only regret for hi-tea was why there's only one complimentary session per room, when there should be 3 complimentary since i booked for 3 nights, or must i reserved in different names and days in a row? one thing may i suggest, the door closer in every room slams the door, it disturb my baby and everyone whose trying to sleep. the 101 hotels must find a way to keep that door closer closed firmly in silence. beside that, it's a perfect comparison between price and place. various meal for breakfast and half rate for kids breakfast, still cheaper compared to other hotels even with 3 stars hotel at malioboro. looking forward to come back next holiday season with my family...

Room was okay,place are convenence. Breakfast was average (you can’t expect a grand breakfast with 3 star hotel. Availability of table and chair for breakfast is limited. Hairdryer is not available in room,have to call reception and need to eait another 3 hour because it was lend to other guest. So please make sure you bring your own hair dryer if stay at this hotel. Overal,i give 7 of 10 for this hotel

This was the nicest hotel we stayed in during our 2 weeks in Indonesia. It's either brand new or recently re-done, so everything is super clean and modern looking. The bed is really comfy -- you can just lay there all day watching HBO. It's located in the heart of the backpacker area, so there's plenty of great food and drinking spots around. Also easy to see the sights in Yogya.

The location is great - walking distance to Trans Jogja bus stop (if you are planning to use this mode of transport which can bring you to Prambanan), Malioboro street, and Keraton. Also, there is a Catholic church about 5 mins walk from the hotel, a massage place opposite the hotel (good massage at reasonable price) and if you are intending to buy local snack 'bakpia', there is a good one near the hotel about 15 mins walk or take a trickshaw for IDR 10,000 (brand Bakpiaku). Cons: i don't see any good eateries around the hotel so it is better to have your lunch/dinner first somewhere else before returning to the hotel.

My friends and I choose this hotel to stay for 2 nights for the following reasons: Location wise it is close to Malioboro where we can shop and dine anytime we want. Very near to tourist attractions. We book a Smart Twin Room, it is simple but it has everything we need, a comfortable bed, a shower and a space big enough for our luggages. We will be out the whole time during our stay, so I guess this is the best deal we got. Breakfast Buffet is good, there are quite a selection. For a 2 star hotel, I think Amaris is a good choice for budget travelers but with a good hotel experience. There is only one comment though, I hope they will use fabric conditioner with the towels, to smell good :)

My pleasure for being part to stay at this hotel. Just wanna review it would be the best experience when breakfast staff ,esp in egg station, can serve my order without my waiting which is wasting time look for another special traditional food that fulfill my food experience of this unique province and city of Indonesia. So recommended for being back to this hotel. Thanks.

Pros: Close to the malls and easy accesss to the shops nearby Friendly staff If you want to buy cheap clothes, the store is next to this hotel. Can bargain and the price is cheaper than the ones sold at the Malioboro St. Cons: Quite a hidden place where the car cant go in and the supir can only drop you from far (not advisable to those with lots of bags. In the early morning, there were so many young teenagers hanging out in the balcony. I smiled at them and they just ignored it. Maybe they were not the staff but the reply was quite rude. The toilet door can't be closed because it was broken.

It was a pleasant and wonderful stay at Pop! Hotel Gandekan. A right choice by choosing this hotel for its strategic hotel location nearby Malioboro street with 5-10 minutes walking distance. The hotel staff is really nice and helpful. I remembered during the last day of stay which I supposed to check out by 12 o'clock. I went out early in the morning for tour and I thought I could make it on time to be back for check out but unfortunately I'm not. So when I got back to the hotel, their staff helped me to do extension without charges. The hotel design is very unique & attractive. Besides its concept is very good which I like it a lot. Must try hotel for any Pop! branches over Indonesia.

Had a room at the 5th floor, with a terrace overlooking the skyline near the lift lobby. very quiet, not noisy at all. Excellent customer service. Room was bare minimum with attached toilet and shower, enough for me and my wife. No wardrobe,fridge, safe box in the room. Bottled mineral water is provided in the room. Surrounding the hotel are some of the best local food you can find. Right at the heart and beginning of Malioboro street. The hotel is adjacent to Malioboro Mall, where you can find the usual fast foods (didn't try it though, prefer to try local food). Wifi is very weak in the room, except for the lobby area. Breakfast was limited to a main meal and some side meals. (Indonesian cuisine only). We had our driver/guide. very knowledgeable, on time service, even at the crack of dawn, and he knows Yogyakarta very well. You can even have customize tour at affordable rates. Foods to try and recommended: 1) Nasi Gudeg 2) Nasi Rames 3) Terang Bulan (Apam Balik) 4) Sate Ayam (the ones sold by the Javanese Women at the square at the end of Malioboro street, towards Kraton) 5) Ayam Goreng Suharti Resto 6) Grilled Gurame at Kali Opak Resto, near Prambanan Temple

We loved the Dafam Fortuna hotel. It was very close to Malioboro street, which is good for shopping and walking around. There is a large grocery store in the Mall Malioboro, which is very near. The roof top pool was very nice and had a nice view. The restaurant forgot our order, but that night the manager gave us free fruit. The best part was that it was near one of the best restaurants we ate at in Indonesia. It is call atap café. It was very good. We really enjoyed our stay at Dafam Fortuna.

Great hotel with excellent range of breakfast (Indonesian and western). Location is perfect....it's 13 mins walking to Malioboro Street so you won't see and hear much noises at night. My young nephews didn't mind to walk that far. When they tired, we catched a becak for Rp 15k or Grab taxi for Rp 13k. The hotel is well guarded with friendly staff everywhere. Room is big enough and clean. During breakfast, I was glad that the management facilitated big group of guests separated from other guests so it wasn't crowded and chaotic when we had our breakfast. there is no substitute to abadi hotel jogja when you visit yogyakarta by train. coming out from the train station across the street is the hotel. no need to get a taxi or bejak. the hotel is worth enoough for a few days/nites stay with its very reasonable rate. they have free breakfast and including an afternoon tea/coffee snacks with native delicacies/sweets. the staff are very friendly and courteous, first and foremost, the chef cook, tono. bejak (trikes) are just infront for malioboro tour with all the batik stores. vans are available at hotel counter for borobudur and prambanan temples tour that include other areas in a 8-10 hour rent at rm400,000. you experience being a “millionaire” in indonesia with their currency in use, by the thousands and millions in denomination.
