Hotels near Balapan Train Station

hotel is good , clean , bed room are clean , hotel staff are good and there are many food near there such as nasi liwet , chinese food in slamer riyadi , nasi gudeg , serabi solo bu Yani/Yuli , fresh hot milk . and near to Mangkunegaran Palace and near to Solo Balapan train station . you can take peddler/becak at cost to kraton / kauman area where you can find good batik & nasi gudeg

This was an excellent hotel to stay in at the price we paid for it ($38/night). The pools are excellent (they share access to Ibis' pool as well, since both hotels are operated by Accor). The only downside is distance to the malls and shopping areas. But just hop on a Becak, or breakdown and get a metered taxi (which is a misnomer since the minimal charge is 20,000 rupiah for most).. And a personal note, one the day we checked out, the taxi drivers in front of the hotel (not official hotel taxi pool) tried to jack up the rate to 30,000 to take us the train station as a minimal charge. My Indonesian wife just decided to walk away and find another taxi until one of them got off their butt and decided to accept 20,000. Please Blue Bird, or Express.. It's time for you to take your metered taxi service to Solo and bring true value and professionalism. We did not have breakfast included in our package, but it appeared to be quite good. Overall, an enjoyable stay and not much negative I can think of if you can get it at the same price.

We stayed for a night, unfortunately we can't use the swimmingpool because they still cleaned it. The room is big, has an old TV, old AC so it's needed a longer time to cool the room. The breakfast is complete with average taste. The location is very good. You can go to shelter in front of hotel.and waiting for trans solo, or go by becak, or by walking to explore the surrounding. It's near Solo Balapan station.

Location wise, it is near Tirtonadi Bus Station, therefore many out-of-town buses pass here. It is also near the latest dam that is opened as tourist spot. There's a minimarket right across the hotel too. However, it is rather far -- in case of small city like Solo, I mean -- to a lot of food spots or shopping places. You need to take ojek or taxi to get there. But my room was quite cozy, all facilities worked including hot water. Many TV channels to keep you entertained. Would love it if a hair dryer is provided in the room, though.

shower needs replacement (clocked up with calicium), acording to website there shoud be hairdraier (not availible), coffe thea maker (not availible), slipper (not availible), telefoon (not availible), in room safe box (not availible), laptop safebox(not availible), laundry service (not availible), there was a refriduater, with wasn't cleaned or conected, after cleaning we used it as a bonus. this hostel was a lesser ofshoot of the Kusuma Sahid Prince hotel 50 meters furter on, there was a breakfast with was diliverd cold at 6.30 every morning (the hotels doesn't have its own kichen the breakfast coms from the bigg hotel and has to traqvel over the street by the time you get it its cold, The genaral state of the hotel is very old, dated nd needing upgrates everywhere, the rooms are not good cleaned (imposible with this old stauff, the staff howerver is very friendley and helpfull, and the location is very good.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and is in the midst of many fun things to see and do - it's also very easy and pleasant to walk to the surrounding areas. Maybe because our room was near the street, it was a little loud in the morning; tour buses across the street using loudspeakers around 5:30, the market opening early, and the traffic from the road...that being said, we'll definitely stay there again because it is truly beautiful and a great place to stay - I'll just ask that our room be farther from the street :-)

very disappointed with the hotel 1. i do check in to the hotel room at 2 pm, but the room is not ready yet. the brochure on the reception table said that the guest can get free upgrade room if the booked room is not available. but in fact, the receptionist wont give us the free upgrade room with any bullsh*t reasons. and i have to wait for about an hour to check in to my booked room. 2. the musics in the karaoke (above the restaurant (near the lobby)) very annoying to the traveler who need a relax break after doing some activity in the noon. cant sleep well until 11 pm. have call the reception they give no way out, and ask us to wait until 11 pm. you kidding me? 3. when we try to take a break at night and watch tv to relax, the lamp inside our room (near the window) suddenly burst and cause the electric in our room is suddenly shut down. call the room service, and the hotel staff came and check, then they took the lamp and turn back the electric in our room, BUT the staff said that they cant change the lamp because of the stock of the lamp is out. really? that's it? actually they can buy the same lamp near the hotel and put it back to my room. the lamp is regular lamp that many little local store sell it. 4. the swimming pool actually not exclusive for the guest only, but it is also open for the public. so, if u looking for the relaxing hotel, consider it back.

a few day before we check in, we already make a direct phone call to this hotel to inform the receptionist that we will have a late check in because we traveling by car from Jakarta. But we are very shocked because when we arrive they already give our rooms (we booked for 3 rooms) to other guests, so they have to move us to their other hotel. After a long & hard conversation then the second night we move back to the hotel that we already reserved. But the room condition are very bed, smell from the bathroom, broken door key, no hot water from the water heater, no telephone in room so we have to walk quite far to the receptionist if we need help. I will not recommended this hotel to other people and will not coming back for my next visit to solo.
