It’s a beautiful hotel with an absolute incredible quality to money ratio. The staff is very friendly and speaks a little English (enough for the stay). The rooms are extremely beautiful, clean and have everything you might need! The bed is very comfortable and big (2 twins put together with a connector - don’t even notice it’s 2 mattresses). Even an air humidifier, as the air is quite dry in Kyoto. Location couldn’t be better. Very sound proof. There is a separate smoking room next to the lobby, with an amazing ventilation system! The only thing that was a little annoying was the shaky wifi connection. For whom is the hotel: solo travelers and couples, people who do not want to spend a fortune on the room but still want a beautiful stay For whom is the hotel NOT a fit: If you are looking for a luxurious hotel that has spa, concierge, room service, etc; if you want to smoke in the room; have huge rooms

Nice Hotel”
This was I lived in TKyoto for 3 nights, and Shijo was a very popular place where I could take a subway or take a walk to Kyoto center, Kiyomizu-dera, or Nishiki Market. The clerks of Hotel were very nice, and their English was good that I could communicate easily. The room of hotel was very clean and comfortable; overall, the experience of living was wonderful.

Neat modern ryokan style hotel”
The hotel is really nice and clean, the front staff are nice and speak English. There’s a family mart around the corner and an izakaya a minute away. They provide toiletries, slippers and pajamas, water and a matcha set to drink in the room. They have a late checkout option available for 1000 yen per hr latest you can check out is 2, it’s convenient.

Great rest and location”
The room is beautiful, clean and quiet. We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed every day. The lobby is very tasteful and is a great welcoming sight after a long day out. There are a lot of restaurants and izakayas within walking distance. The Shijo subway/Hankyu station is also very close. The only downside is that it was a little hard to open two medium sized luggage at the same time.

Small yet cozy”
Just 5 mins walk from metro station, the hotel located on a quiet street where you can have a restful nights during your stay. Room is quite small - opening big luggage might be a bit of problem (mine is 32”) but very clean and fill with everything you need. Check-in / out were very smooth. There’s a free coffee station provided on the B1 floor as well as microwave in case you would like to reheat any meals from convenience store. Oh, there’s one big family mart nearby, just a min walk from hotel.

Very reasonable price. Good location for this price. Walkable distance (several minutes) to shijo station and some tourist spot (30 minutes to kiyomizu dera). There is a family mart nearby (within one min of waking). Free hot coffee available all day. Very clean and neat room.

Better than Reasonable”
Like I said at the title, better than what I paid for. Of course it is Japan, room is small but except for that, it was clean, the staff were kind, bathroom is reasonably big compare to other Japanese room I’ve experienced. Cozy and no comment needed for complaint.

The facilities and amenities provided by the hotel is more than the price of the hotel. Great bed, awesome location, nice environment, and is also near to quite a few hangout spots if you want to unwind such as Starbucks. Will definitely come again in the future.

Hotel Resol is conveniently located, it's only a few minutes walk to the train station and several bus stops. It's also just a few minutes walk to Shijo's shopping areas. It's located on a quiet street, the rooms are clean and breakfast is excellent. The hotel staff are very nice, helpful and accommodating.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Resol. From the moment we checked in until we checked out, we were impressed with the staff, our rooms and the cleanliness of the entire hotel. We would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Kyoto. The location was also perfect for hitting all the popular tourist spots with lots of restaurants within walking distance. If we are ever in Kyoto again, we will definitely be staying at Hotel Resol again!!

Japanese style rooms that make you feel at home”
The hotel is very closed to Shijo metro station and walking distance from Kyoto main railway station and some very famous places as Ninenzaka and Kiyomizudera. Both easily recachable by bus too. What I loved more was the room environmente. It transmitted me peace. What I missed, onsen... It would have been perfect. I also missed some fish on the optional breakfast, though they have plenty of other staff. I would definitively like to stay at this site if I ever visit Kyoto again. I do recommend to book it in advance or it price becomes high quickly.

Exceptional”
The location is convenient and there are some local restaurants nearby; not many but good for the first or second evening if you do not want to wander far. They make up room every other day which is not an issue for us but some may care. The hotel ambience is very nice and it will be on my list if I visit Kyoto again.
