Very nice hotel directly in Hanoi old quarter. The double rooms are super spacious and the beds are comftable. Also the owner is very welcoming and friendly. You even have big balconys in some of the double rooms. Would recommend this hotel anytime.

I am Vinod Reddy from Hyderabad and stayed in her Hotel for 2 days and she had helped me in all the activities I needed in my stay for best prices which you don't get it in that low. I checked with different agencies as well but she is the best and Honest Person. I strongly recommend and suggest to stay in her hotel. Great location and Honest people. Cheap option In old quarter”
I mean it is a cheap room just to rest at night. Mine had no window and was small but I didn't hear anything from the street which was great.the bed was comfy and I could sleep great after a lot of walking from my previous day in Sapa. Li is awesome, she is really helpful! She planned for me an excursion to Cat Ba and Let me leave my big luggage, also they did my laundry. I recommend this place. Great to save.

Simple Stay”
The room was spacious, located along ‘beer street’. Luckily it wasn’t noisy at night as we were on the top floor. But climbing 5 floors wasn’t fun especially after a tiring day. Toilet wasn’t entirely clean, blankets were rather thin. It was fine though as we only had a night stay for transit here.

A bit grubby”
Hard to find if you enter hotel name on google maps. Use the street address or you’ll be directed to a place that doesn’t exist. No elevator so be prepared to walk up to 6 flights of stairs. Also have people stomping up and down the stairs at all hours impacting sleep. Air con in room was a bonus. As was tv but only Vietnamese language channels Bathroom and bed covered with other people’s hair was the kicker. Really gross. Go location in old quarter though and staff very friendly.

Noisy and rundown”
This hotel sits in the heart of the bustling old quarter. During the 3 nights I stayed here, it was really noisy from evening to midnight, due to the surrounding restaurants and bars. Most of the outlets and the refrigerator didn't work. Ventilation is another problem. It is actually located in an alley, which was quite inconvenient for me to park a motorbike. I ended up not renting one and had to walk/called a taxi every time. If you love the fun and just want to stay mainly around the old quarter, it could be a good budget option. But if you spend most of the day time exploring places and need a good place to sleep at night, you don't want to stay here.

After viewing your review I have something to explain to you to make sure that you have written the right things. 1. your room have a window and a door to the balcony as well as a door to the corridor so if you said "ventilation is a problem" is not fair for us. 2. lights, lamp, air-conditioner, fan, minibar, Tivi are working very well so I do not understand what you mean "Most of the outlets and the refrigerator didn't work", this seams to be not fair for us too. 3. the hotel is located in the walking streets in the Old quarter - a tourist area so it is surrounded by shops, souvenirs, restaurants, and many tourists that is absolutely known by every tourists before coming. Anyway thank you so much for booking in my hotel and for the right part of your review.
Great location, Friendly Owner, Spacious Rooms, Balcony, Fridge”
This hotel was great in a bunch of ways. The owner was really friendly and nice, the room was spacious and the location was central. However, after we returned from our Halong Bay Tour, the hotel had overbooked and told us we were unable to stay the night. This was really annoying since we'd booked 4 days in advance! Although the staff (not the owner) was kind of helpful in trying to find us somewhere else, we ended up waiting for 45 minutes before he told us all the other hotels were full. Not happy. We read another review that said a couple booked a Halong Bay tour somewhere else (not with the hotel) and were given the same treatment (IE: they were "booked out" when they returned) so just beware. We booked somewhere else through Agoda, but when we turned up, they were full too. Safe to say we eventually found somewhere to stay, but wasted almost 2 hours doing so. Breakfast at Hanoi Discovery Hotel was okay. They serve toast instead of Baguettes which wasn't that nice. The pancakes were deep fried.... but over all can't complain. Breakfast filled you up for the morning. Also, expect the nearby clubs to be pumping 'till midnight. We were fine with the noise (noise doesn't usually bother us) but if you can't sleep with loud noise this place might not be for you.

The hotel is at the heart of Hanoi old quarter, very convinient to get around shop, restaurants, night market, make friend with local people at bia hoi places. The hotel is small and cozy, staff are friendly and helpful. It is good value for the price and location.

Excellent price for the location ”
Excellent hotel choice considering the price and the location in the Old Quarter. I especially recommend this hotel for a solo traveler that wants a private room. Incredibly kind and helpful staff. Sufficient breakfast. Comfortable beds and pillows. Noise does travel up the stairwell quite easily, but subsides after 11pm for the most part.

Great location but not if you're a light sleeper! ”
This hotel was right in the middle of the old quarter near awesome restaurants, great nightlife and the lake. The owner was very friendly and helpful and tried to help us with tours. Our room was large (family room was the cheapest?!) the twin was awesome but the queen was hard as a rock. Luckily my boyfriend likes to sleep on that kind of bed! A/c worked well but was a little noisy. Didn't mind that as it masked the nightclub music across the street from 10pm-2am. We didn't mind the music but if you are a light sleeper maybe you'd like to pick another place. Coming in late was no problem as someone's always downstairs. Definitely recommend!

I spent 5 nights there and I can recommend it. The whole family providing hotel is very helpful and kind. Hotel is located in Old quarter on not so busy street (but in the evening are all streets of OQ busy). For low budget trawellers excelent choice. Even breakfast was included with tea / coffee. I had rented motorbike and parked it there without a problem. The boys helped me with parking every time.

Lovely helpful owners”
There was not a lot on offer when we booked in january in Hanoi and we found the discovery. The owners were so honest and helpful with everything from Sapa to Halong Bay and a taxi to the airport. They did not push their tours on us but rather listened to what we wanted to do and helped The hotel is in a very busy area of bars that have loud music till 2am. The owner has put in sound proofing which helps. They also have another quieter hotel that we found out you can request. I'd stay again the owners and location where fabulous.

Overall ok. Friendly staff. In middle of old quarter. So great location for a tourist. Most of the significant places around the old quarter were walking distance from this hotel. The map was given by the hotel manager was very helpful. As well as the manager arranged some day trips for a reasonable price as well. Beds and room just ok. Overall value for money.
